Chocolate Cake in a Mug?
I have searched and searched and searched... someone in the last week posted a way to make a chocolate cake in a mug out of either the pudding or drink mix and I can't find it but my TOM is shouting it's name... does anyone have it?
chocolate cake in my belly please:hb: |
Chocolate Mug Cake...Instant Joy!
1 pkg Chocolate Drink ( replace with other drinks try with vanilla drink) 1 egg white 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon splenda (or sweeten with other sweetener to taste ) Splash of vanilla Put the drink mix in a big mug Add enough water to bring it to a slightly watery pudding consistency, just enough to be able to mix easily Add other ingredients (egg white, baking powder, olive oil, splenda, vanilla ) Mix it like crazy with a big fork till it's silky smooth Put it in the microwave for 3 minutes ON TOP OF A BIG PLATE Watch as it expands like crazy Let cool Eat... and enjoy |
HALLELUIA! thank you so much :D
|
If you wouldn't mind, can you post up what you think of this after you try it?
|
Make sure to post this in the recipes threads!!!!
|
I tried it with the chocolate pudding and it just turned into a rubbery gooey mess. =( I'll have to try it with the chocolate drink sometime.
|
I tried it tonight, made it in a large cereal bowl and I thought it was going to explode.... well it didn't and it was very tasty! But it doesn't really follow the rules as it had 1T of oil, but I guess if it keeps you from cheating it's not a terrible rule to break.

I love creative IP recipes, but it is almost funny how wrong things can go. I wish I'd taken a picture of my first IP waffle failure; took 30 minutes to clean the waffle iron with a toothbrush. The second attempt was a complete success however! |
I wonder if this recipe would be good with the cappuccino drink mix...
I'm trying it. |

It seriously expands like crazy in the microwave. It was like a big balloon up and over the side of the mug. I thought for sure it would hit the top of the microwave or come down to the plate but it never did. Was sad to see it deflate so much but we really enjoyed it. I only put a teasp of oil in it. The batter was very consistent with cake batter.
Sorry to hear about the cappucino, EmilySebetka. That is my favorite drink and I too thought it would make an amazing cake thing. |

My first waffle expanded like a star going supernova, breaking out of the waffle-maker prison like a bat out of *$($, then transformed into superglue encrusting the entire appliance. Second one, I sprayed the waffle iron with olive oil before adding a modest amount of batter. Much better outcome. |

making this tonight! THANKS :carrot: |
okay, was it just me, mine turned out HORRIBLE... did I not put enough water in it?
|
Oh, mine came out soooooo good! Glad I tried it. Now I have somethng to look forward to!
|
I had this last night as well and it turned out ok. When in the microwave, it got really huge and most of it came out of the mug and onto the plate. It was good, but it came out a bit gooey. Other than that I might add a bit more stevia next time to make it a bit sweeter.
|
I think I may try this also. I asked my coach if it is something that I can have. LOL waiting on reply. I want to stay OP, still new and learning what I can and can't have.

Added orange extract yesterday. Yum.
It feels restricted to me so I think I will treat it like a treat. I, personally, don't do well with some of the baked items with IP products. It seems to have an effect on me otherwise I wish I could have this often. The texture is odd but since I am soy sensitive, it gives me a nice dessert option. Does anyone know how to turn the chocolate pancake mix into a cake. I tried it putting it in the microwave. I did it right the first time but can't remember the time it took. I did it 1.5 minutes and it exploded allover my microwave. I tried it at a minute or less but it was runny. |
next time someone makes it who gets it to turn out well, could you please measure the water you put in?
|
I did this recipe different
Chocolate IP packet mix in bowl with water Add two splenda tsp olive oil One egg mix good with fork I put tsp caramel torani sugar free syrup Baking powder just a dash Cooked perfect like a cake Put in a small baking disk and bake on 350 20to 25 min |
Can you substitute chocolate drink for ready to eat pudding in this recipe?
|
How much water is added exactly? I want to try this soon! Thanks.
|
Do about half a cup of water enough when it is mixed it looks like cake batter
|
Mine turned out rubbery. Couldn't eat it. Bummer.
|
Mine was awful too. But I used a protidiet drink. The alternative products just don't seem to work well in recipes.
|
This sounds soo good. I can't wait to try it tonight. Have any of you tried it with the vanilla drink mix and pumpkin spice? I've heard they're a good combo as a drink, but I wonder how it would be as a cake...

I am assuming that you can't use this receipe with RTD chocolate drink, right ?
|
Im going to have to try this recipe out it sounds so yummy!

Okay, I think I figured it out. I made this today and strayed from my other versions which was a big mistake. I had some lime flavored olive oil and thought I would add that because I like the combination of chocolate and lime. Big mistake. So, I tried to cover it up with orange extract. Bigger mistake and adding the vanilla stevia for sweetener did not help much.
But, this is what happened today. I think the texture was okay though it seems a bit oily but the taste was so bitter it was hard to eat. What it tasted like to me was the baking soda. Have you ever had...forget it. I just figured out my problem. Apparently I was not awake. I put baking soda instead of baking powder. It was dreadful. No wonder we are burping. Okay, hope I gave you all a good laugh. I have baking soda and baking powder in red cans. Did not realize that. On another note my zucchini omelets were quite good. No gum or anything is going to get this taste out of my mouth. |
I just made this and it was delicious! I beat 1 egg added 1 tsp each of vanilla and baking powder, the chocolate drink mix and half a cup of water and baked it in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes. I didn't use any olive oil or sweetener but I thought it came out good:smug:

Made this and love it!! Gonna add the WF chocolate sauce next time over top! Just thinking about it make my mouth water! mmmm
|
bump - for my fellow chocolate lovers :)
ps-if you make this, don't forget to add the water. i forgot to when i made mine for the first time. it came out dry, but dunking it in coffee or tea would have done the trick i think! |
IP 2 Bite Brownies w/ Raspberry Sauce
Quote:
Chocoalte "Brownies" Makes 12 (1 serving) 1 pkg IP Chocolate Drink 1/2 c water 1 tsp vanilla 1 pkg Splenda 1 egg 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp sea salt Mix the first two ingredients until well blended. In another bowl, mix remaining ingredients until blended. Add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and mix together (don't over stir). Spray a mini-muffin pan with PAM & spoon 1 tbsp into each tin. Bake for 7 minutes. Let cool & enjoy!! Raspberry Sauce 1/4 c WF raspberry fruit spread 2 tbsp water 1 pkg Splenda In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk all ingredients together until the WF fruit spread breaks down. Serve warm (otherwise it turns back into a spread) & use as a dip for your chocolate treats! I wasn't wildly crazy about the raspberry sauce, but I am not a fan of most WF products. By breaking down the jelly to a sauce though makes it taste a lot better (to me)! I also think I'll make these into bigger cupcakes next time because eating 12 was hard for me... the texture isn't quite "cake like" obviously! :) Still really happy with how this turned out!! Yum! |
