Happy Saturday all! I am not doing any Black Friday shopping at all. I might run downtown today and buy a super LED flashlight at half price. In the winter here it is always so dark when I leave for work and when I come home. It is suppose to be the day to support your local stores.

I ate way too much turkey yesterday. We made a small turkey for ourselves so DH can take leftovers to work. I did so well on Thanksgiving Day and then blew it yesterday. I also found 2 pieces of Halloween candy. I think I would have eaten anything chocolatey if I could have found more in the house, but it is pretty cleaned out and mostly legal foods.Back to staying OP today.

Has anyone made the Ice Cream with IP drink packets yet? It was on Jordanna's Little Buddies facebook page and I made it last night using my IP cappuccino packet with WF caramel dip on top, It was excellent and I felt like I had the real thing!

Here is the recipe for the ice cream posted by Kathryn on Little Buddies facebook page:

I’m excited enough for everyone because I found a way to make a BIG unrestricted bowl of ice cream! As long as you don’t mind a little arm workout to make it lol – which I don’t!

I don’t know if you guys have ever heard of making homemade ice cream in a bag – but I just heard about it. It’s wild! I’ll bet the real version of it is awesome (made with cream or half and half), but I adapted it to make it with an IP drink packet. Check out real version here if you like - there are pictures: http://bit.ly/lxiP2H

Ingredients:

1 IP drink packet (I used the chocolate drink packet for chocolate ice cream)

½ TSP of vanilla extract

1 packet of sweetener (I use splenda or stevia)

1 cup of water

½ cup of course salt

Ice

Directions:

Put 1 cup of water into IP shaker – add in vanilla and sweetener – then the IP drink packet and shake until well blended. Pour mixture into small sandwich plastic bag. SEAL TIGHT.

Take a gallon sized plastic bag and fill up half way with ice cubes. Pour ½ cup of salt into the bag. Place the sealed sandwich bag with the drink mixture inside the ice cube bag. MAKE SURE BOTH BAGS ARE SEALED TIGHT.

Now here come the little arm workout! Shake, shake, shake for 8 minutes. I usually stop at around 5 minutes and check to see the progress. At about 5 minutes the mixture should be partially frozen – kind of looking like a slushy. I use pot holders while I’m shaking the bag because it’s cold to hold onto!

At 8 minutes you are going to have a hard bag of ‘ice cream’! Take out of the salty ice bag and very quickly rinse the bag off under cold water. One time when I made this – some of the salt rubbed off the bag and got into my bowl – and I took a bite and was like WHOA salty ice cream. So just rinse off the bag quickly to avoid that.

Top with WF chocolate syrup or WF caramel syrup and enjoy!

Hello, I am new to this site. But, I am so happy to have found it. I started 11/1 and have been doing fine so far. No urge to cheat at all
I have a question, do your bodies get used to eating at certain time on this plan. The past couple of days have been a little messed up timing wise, and last night I felt sort of nauseous before dinner. I was thinking that it may have been because it was 4 hrs since my last meal and once I ate I started to feel better. (it was also 7 pm when I usually eat between 5 and 6) Has anyone experienced this?

For myself, I find it is best to eat on schedule. It's the only time I get grumpy on this diet - when I'm overly hungry. I also find that if I forget to have my IP salt at lunch, I feel sluggish in the afternoon and it may lead to feeling nausea. For me, it's important to have my IP salt at both lunch and dinner.

Hope this helps you. I'm sure others may have additional ideas.

Congrats on your success! This plan really works if you remain OP.

Jo

Sandyh50 Thanks for asking about Phase 2. I just decided on my own to begin phase 2 and I'll speak with my coach about it next week at my WI.

With travel and various things going on, I have had a couple of phase 2 days over the past few weeks and my weight would drop 3 to 4 lbs after those days and then bounce back up when I returned to phase 1. I didn't understand it when it happened the first time, and then it happened again a couple of weeks later, so this is my attempt at putting two and two together. I have been OP and I think my body is just hanging on to this weight range right now. I also try to walk 4 miles per day on most work days, so I'm wondering if 850 calories on average was just not enough for me. So I'm testing Phase 2 to see if I have more success and of course TOM shows up. So I plan to ride out the next couple of weeks on phase 2 and see what happens on the scale.

I weighed 135 in college and for several years of my early adult life, so I'm confident I have not set my goal to low. I'm really hoping to reach the goal, and I guess good things come to those who wait. Perhaps reaching goal after the holidays is God's way of giving me a helping hand.

I have been off-line for a few weeks and am trying to catch up a bit.

Hope things are going well for you! I think you are getting close as well! Will be fun to continue to connect on the Maintainers thread.

Missed T-day dinner with family due to a cold, but didn't miss the drama that always accompanies the get togethers. Feeling better as I push fluids.

How did I get so lucky to have head cold, TOM & dealing with holiday all at the same time?

ptod, Happy to hear you are feeling better! God's speed on your full recovery. I have been blessed to not be sick at all while on this plan, and am so thankful.

I mostly use the already made products, shakes for breakfast, than a restricted for lunch and a premade pudding for snack. Since i have all my IP packets at work, i find it much easier that way. the only time i buy the ones to make is for the week-ends...yogourt for breakfast and jello for snacks.

Well WI this morning, -2.6..i was a bit disappointed as i was getting used to the 3+lbs numbers but i'm happy anyways.

Tomorrow i'm bringing the little girl i babysit every week-end to see Santa (she's almost 4), i'm so excited my youngest kids are 9 and 10 so its fun to do the little kids stuff again, lol.

People at work have already started asking me if i'm going to be making my truffles soon, i always make lots of them around christmas time and bring some to work. I will in a couple of weeks, not worried about temptation as i usually barely eat any of them anyways. Going to start on the whole holiday baking (meat pies, truffles, cookies, etc)...i know i'll be ok and i enjoy how it makes people happy and how much they like my stuff more than eating it.

Have a great IP week-end everyone.

Thanks for the ice cream recipe - gonna give that a try as I miss it a lot. Just had my second WI and so far I'm down 6.4 pounds total and over 6 inches! - wow I am impressed with this diet. I check these pages out daily and it's such a source of inspiration and encouragement - especially over a tough holiday food wise!

Good morning all

I just had my second weigh in, down 6.5 lbs. Yahoo. Feel so darn good and so motivated but sure don't like the cost of this program. (that is me just being cheap though) I am very thankful for the information on this web site.

Enjoy this day.

Thank you for the well wishes!

I rarely catch a cold, but November we traveled to NJ (twice), PA & OH for various reasons, plus the regular stuff in life, so being a little run down didn't help. The only problem with getting better is having to do the dishes again! LOL

Tis the season to keep washing hands frequently and finding a better hand lotion to help with dry skin.
