Default Was today hard for you?

I was really worried going into today. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday...all of my family from my parents and brothers to my aunts/uncles and cousins come. We each make a dish to pass. There are so many foods that I only eat once a year and though I have had no desire to cheat...I was soooo worried about today.

So, lunch time got here and I had turkey, roasted broccoli, and mashed cauliflower. It was wonderful and I was really full. I waited a bit and then I had one small bite of banana salad...and you know what...I don't feel guilty at all!!! I have not cheated once on this diet in 13 weeks and I knew that I could take one bite and be fulfilled. I think that the beauty of what I have learned from this diet is I don't need plates full of food...I have to make better choices than I did 34 pounds ago!!!

With that, it was a wonderful 99% on plan day...I love my family and I was really proud of myself for getting through the day without allowing myself a piece of pie, a piece of fudge, mac and cheese or any of my other favorites!!!

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope everyone had a great day! If you stayed on plan today...kuddos to you!!! AWESOME job!!! If you didn't...it's okay, just jump back on plan tomorrow!!!

Today wasn't that bad and my portion control was in control! I think that helped greatly. Also walked alot in the beautiful temps.

It WAS a hard day. I've pretty much kept silent to my family, other than my son, about being on a special eating program. My sister made things just for me like stuffing. There was so much wonderful food. I was glad that I had a packet to drink before hand and salad with me. I had a small spoon of the mushroom-gorgonzola sauce she made. It was sooo good. My downfall is crackers and cheese; which I didn't have any! So, I feel good about the day overall. Congrats to all for getting through a tough day.

Oh - and my sister sends home a new book with cookie recipes for Christmas. Ugh!! Holidays are a challenge.

The actual meal wasn't tough for me.....it was when everyone left. I'm still struggling. I've gone over my calories for the day, but not too bad. The day's not over yet. :-/

It was a much harder day than I thought, but I did fine. My favorite foods are many of the Thanksgiving foods and I just happen to be hungry today which usually doesn't happen to me. My daughter (also on IP) and I ate turkey and turnip fries, and I had the rest of the traditional foods for my husband and son. Tonight we went to the movies and it seemed that everyone around us was eating popcorn. So yes it was a hard day, but thankfully I did it and thankfully the holiday only last one day.

I am loving these posts! There are so many people who post on this site and many talk about how wonderful the plan is, and how easy, etc. The fact of the matter is ALL of us are going to have a rough day every now and again and we need to be able to share our victories as well as our challenges!!!

I will tell y'all...I cannot wait to be on maintenance!!! LOL! Starting tomorrow, I am going to be working out and drinking more water. I only have (according to my scale) about 11 pounds left but want them GONE by Christmas. That may be a little unrealistic, but I am going to do everything on my end and see if my body will come through for me!!! :-)

Thank you all for sharing!!! It warms my heart to know I wasn't alone!!! HUGS!

It wasn't a hard day since it was just our family and since my wife was still recovering we kept it pretty simple. I'd worked with my coach to have a bit of a planned deviation to let me have a piece of pumpkin pie. Had a spoonful of stuffing and a small bit of bread, the bread and stuffing didn't do anything for me. The pumpkin pie however was great and enjoyed having some "normal" food. I'm within 19lbs of my goal so we both felt having my first deviation since August was earned and I was able to control it. Today I've kept to IP packets and celery and doubled my water intake to 6liters to help clear my system.

Y guy...I wanted a piece of pumpkin pie so bad, but opted for my lifetime favorite and had a bite of banana salad!!! It was wonderful and it felt good to be able to take a bite and walk away without feeling like I needed more!

We are soooo close to our goal...are you getting so excited??? Are you doing any exercising? I am starting something tomorrow...just not certain what that something will be!!! :-)

BTW...do celery have less carbs than other veggies? I wonder if there is a list out there somewhere of which veggies are higher than others???

I really thought Thanksgiving was going to be hard, but all I could think about was how grateful I am to be 20 pounds lighter than last Thanksgiving. That did the trick and with the exception of one glasses red wine with dinner, I stayed 100% OP! I couldn't believe it, but I did it. I DID IT!

Very excited, and happy I made it through Turkey Day too and can see by the end of year I should be wrapping up. We've been talking phasing off and we'll talk more on Tuesday.

My wife and I walk every night pretty much, I've been focused more on building my back muscles as I've had some pretty bad back pain for about 6 weeks now, about the time I lost the majority of my "gut" it kicked in. So stretching and some ab exercises each morning then walking. Doc was pretty insistent that I keep my heart rate under 120.

As for celery, it has 6 carbs while Asparagus has 8, Broccoli 16 and Green Beans 18. I use a site called MyFitnessPal.com to track all my foods including IP items (which are already in the database) and it helps me watch which items have higher carb amounts. I've been looking everything I eat for long enough now that it's just habit and something that I'll continue to do after IP.
