Been on IP for ten days now and I am sleeping less (feel fine) is this unique to me? Prior to IP was major carb eater is this extra protein resetting my sleep requirements? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I'm laughing at this one because here I am up after just 4 hours of sleep. My husband had an early morning flight this morning and with all of the sounds of his getting ready to leave I woke up and now can't go back to sleep, so here I am on the computer. Before I could sleep easily 8 to 10 hours. Now I just seem to need a lot less sleep.

Sleeping less than what? and now sleeping how long? I mean if you used to sleep 7 hours and now you sleep 4, that's awful. If you used to sleep 10 and now get 7, that's good. See what I mean?
My sleep habits have changed some, I find myself up earlier and going to be earlier at night. For my first couple of weeks I had a tough time sleeping through the night since I was drinking to much water in the evening. I find if I wake up in the middle of the night I have a harder time falling back to sleep, I've never had a problem sleeping. I do feel more rested though, and sure some of that has to do with not snoring anymore too.
I've been sleeping a lot less since starting IP too. I don't know if it's good or bad. I'm on maintenance now, and I'm not seeing any difference. Still going to bed early and waking up before I've had 8 hours.
The magnesium knocks me right out at night. Some one asked if needing less sleep was a temporary situation and I would have to say , "no." When I've done low carb in the past I always had more energy until I fell off of the wagon and started eating carbs again.
I love waking up in the morning now ready to go, rather than dragging my a$$ out of bed.

If it makes you feel any better..I just read an article that said that women only need 6-6.5 hrs of sleep.
I also wake up earlier on Ip..but feel great!
Fell off diet for awhile but back and only ten pounds left to lose. Only thing missing is sleep. Those carbs sure give me a much better sleep. Tried to drink sleepytime tea before bed to no avail.

Are you tired during the day? Or is it just that you are not asleep as many hours as when you eat more carbs. Just because you are asleep longer does not mean that that sleep is quality rebuilding/rejuvenating sleep for your body. The thing to look at is how your day life is affected. Hang in there, your sleep levels may normalize soon.
