Oh geez. I had two bars this morning for breakfast...with all these carbs I better go swimming and get back on track!!! Anyone ever get carried away? Last year IP said no bars, but now since one is allowed, I'm too tempted!!! Plus, all that saturated fat! Should I just hide/or not buy them!!:dust:

My coach did my measurements today and we looked back over how many inches I've lost - about 5" off my hips, 4" off my waist, 3" off my thighs - that's unbelievable.

Have great night everyone!

Your inches loss is fantastic - you must be feeling really good! Congrats!:carrot:

Good morning, I had a full week where I couldn't stay away so I quit buying them for a little bit. Not having them in the house sure stopped it quick. Hiding them would not work for me haha! I still can have other restricted around, just seemed the bars were what I would "cheat" with, if you can call it that.

Been having some rough nights lately.. my bf and I have been fighting a lot... So who know of we will stay together... The sad thing is that just a few months ago he had said that I should try to lose a few pounds... And now his story has changed... Asking if I am just going to fail all this back... Sorry to vent... It's just on my mind...

If my boyfriend or husband ever told me to try to lose a few pounds...well, lets just say that wouldn't happen. If he were genuinely concerned about my health he would propose ideas on how we could make changes in our eating or activity but he would never tell me I should lose a few. That is very controlling and chances are it won't stop there.
This is just my two cents though!

I'm sure you guys will work through it, and if not, you weren't supposed to anyways!

That being said, do NOT let it get you off plan. Stay strong through the stress and in the end you will feel better for making the choice to stay on protocol and not quit! (because that is something YOU have control over and YOU will reap the benefits {or consequences} of, not anyone else.) If you feel like quitting just come on here and chat. :)

So, last night went really well. I had a blast with my girlfriends and I actually ordered the most food at the table (sushimi, salad, and edamame which I shared). The salad had cheese and tomatoes on it which weren't listed on the menu so I just ate around them. The others just had one of the fancy sushi rolls but I was very satisfied. Plus my sashimi came with a pile of cucumbers (at least 1/2 a cup if not more) so if I didn't get all my veggies in I came close. And I'm down another pound this morning :-)

TBH, I haven't had that problem yet, although I did 'sneak' one or two of the chocolate and peanut butter puffs once I had them mixed together when I needed something sweet. Never more than one of each flavor though, because that was my next day's lunch, and I didn't want to short myself. Personally, I just buy enough food to last one week, so I don't have the option of eating to many bars. Every time I've gone in I've bought 21 items which is just enough. I know what you mean though, I just had one over the weekend (not even sure what kind it was, the packaging was messed up), and it was SO SO good.

The first potluck I went to after starting IP, there were some other women who were doing a Biggest Loser competition and one of them came and sat down next to me because she knew that I wouldn't be eating anything and then she wouldn't be tempted either! We can strengthen each other.

The sashimi sounds perfect and as someone else recommended, I'd try to get the salad without dressing. I'm really surprised your coach said the edamame was okay - I've always heard it's a no-no.

Haha yeah, not a fan of potlucks either. I actually didn't even go check out the line, and I brought shrimp cocktail and veggies just in case I was in dire need of something to eat (obviously I would have eaten it without the cocktail sauce or veggie dip). I already pass up meals at church Sunday at brunch and Wednesday dinner so my friends already know that I'm watching what I'm eating. Thankfully it wasn't to bad at all.

I actually was surprised about the edamame too, I didn't even mention it in the E-Mail I sent my coach, she brought it up. When I looked it up though it only has 9g carbs for 1/2 cup shelled beans. That's the same as the Mango RTD (which is unrestricted). Maybe the catch is that you have to count it for protein and not a veggie? I don't know, but I shared an order with one of my friends and it was delicious!

That is an amazing beginning! Great way to start on IP. Have another good week.

I am getting used to the dark mornings and the sun setting earlier. Fortunately the days are warm and it is still like summer here.
I am getting used to Phase 2. I now have to create new lunches. I just can't eat the same thing for lunch and dinner. However, the scale is moving, so that is good news. 7 pounds from goal.
Have a great day on IP everyone.

Hey All! I haven't been posting much these past 2 weeks. I've been on my birthday "break". Today is my actual B-day, so it's the last day of my break. tomorrow it's back to P1 and I'm looking forward to it.
I've been eating and drinking all those things we're not supposed to eat and drink. It's not nearly as enjoyable as it once was- which is OK. I gained 3 lbs through this- which is amazing to me considering how I've been eating. I also haven't had any low blood sugar episodes- again pretty amazing.
So, all in all I feel like IP has been the best birthday present I could have given myself. I'm starting my 40s healthier than I was through all of my 30s and I'm excited!

Wow 3 lbs. thats awesome for 2 weeks. It keeps my faith in the diets ability to maintain my weight in Maintenance. Did you phase off for your break or just cold turkey? Sorry, I can't remember if you have already said in the past. Look forward to having you back. :)
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Movin' ON!

I did the movie thing yesterday and survived the popcorn smell in the theater by bringing a bar with me. I have been eating more calories with my food choices and was worried that it was going to hurt me, but the scale was down, so I am feeling like I might have been "undereating" if that makes sense. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode and this is a pretty low calorie diet. Since I am heading toward week 14 weigh in I want to make sure that I am doing the right thing.

Since I bought those Pure Protein bars they have sure been calling my name, even cut into fourths and in the freezer. But they were a lifesaver at the movie yesterday.

Have a great Sunday.

Wuv, how was the wedding?

I don't know if I could do it! I honestly would have the hardest time sitting down to watch a movie from my couch because I have always done it with popcorn. Luckily, I don't have time to watch movies so that is a good thing :)

that's why i don't buy bars, never did. I've heard a lot of people say that it makes them crave them more and are really yummy and i know that i would have a hard time resisting them so i rather stay away, maybe once i'm on phase 2.

When i go to the movies, i always go to the 7 or so showing and i always bring my dinner with me (heat it up before leaving) and a restricted (bbq chips, pickle zippers or soy puffs) and a zero nestea ice tea. So that way i'm full the whole time and feel like i'm getting a treat too.

I took the challenge of a week without my scale and its already bugging me...i feel like i've lost control!
