On the lighter side...I took my bike out this morning and DH went through everything with me. I'm nowhere ready for the road, but did better than I thought I would. It's been years since I rode a bike.:scooter:

Tomorrow is the big day, I will see coach about starting the IP program, so I guess in the future you will be seeing a little less of me:carrot:

Mary Ann

Where is the place located you are going to? Did someone refer you? I go to the side door in west reading and they are really good and on top of stuff!

Tell me it will get better? I am on day two and feeling kind of icky. Tired, hungry etc.... I keep reminding myself that it is worth it and that it is going to get easier :)

Thanks so much for the support guys!! I just spoke with my coach who told me I can have edamame as well for a protein so I'll probably do half fish half edamame. Yum!! She also sells individual packets of WF dressing, I need to get some to stash in my purse. Looking forward to a fun night tonight!

Good morning ladies...

Been having some rough nights lately.. my bf and I have been fighting a lot... So who know of we will stay together... The sad thing is that just a few months ago he had said that I should try to lose a few pounds... And now his story has changed... Asking if I am just going to fail all this back... Sorry to vent... It's just on my mind...

:hug:I know that's hard. Change is uncomfortable to most people, so even though you're making good changes that are going to improve your life he might not see it like that. Keep reminding yourself what an amazing person you are and how far you've come!

Hi IPers,

Just got back from a parade, where my kids marched in thier junior high band - lovely day!

No loss this week - things have really slowed down for me - I'm trying to drink more water, but not sure what else I should be doing. Seem to be SO hungry all the time!

Had a cool NSV. Had lunch with several friends and they commented that I was not wearing "Mom jeans" that the jeans I had on were really cute!

Have a great OP weekend all!
Remain Strong!
Jo

That's an awesome NSV!! I'm waiting for people to notice my weight loss, and get to goal so I can buy some really cute non - mom jeans!

patns - That's awesome you were able to stay OP the whole time. I've just discovered that if I eat before I go people tend to take it in stride. Please let us know how it goes on alternatives. I've thought about switching after the first of the year, depending on how I'm doing.

Wow so much to say and so little time. I had a wonderful morning with the dgos and walking them.. This morning got to the offleash and wish I had brought a camera. There was this cool fog that was in the shape of a rainbow, it was so cool and was kind of mad that I didn't bring a camera. The fall colors are so beautiful right now I spent most of the walk just looking around. Met with my friend for a while, she told me she spent last Sunday working for Rescues for Life, they go to the reserves and try to talk people out of their dogs or for them to take them to get spade or neutered. Their job last weekend was to clean out temp kennels for all the dogs coming in for spade and neutering and to feed and calm these dogs down. The majority of them were going back to their owners. She was very upset at how skinny these animals were. I pray that the owners begin to look after them better, at least now some of them won't be reproducing. My old girl is doing much better and I can't wait to get her paw print tattooed on my leg tomorrow. Then the drive home. Here in Edmonton we have 2 seasons... Winter and Construction... well construction is at a premium took me longer to get home than my 1 1/2 hour walk... but I did make it home.:hug:

That sounds like so much fun!! It's still to HOT down here to do much of anything outside. We're getting transferred next year and while I've enjoyed it down here it will be nice to have seasons again!

We must have started about the same time because technically my 3rd week is Wednesday, but I am WI Monday because of my schedule this week. TOM is Time of Month, ie. Your monthly cycle. Although mine seems to have visited a little early this month which would explain the low number last week.

Yes it will get better. You can try the salt trick for the headache (1/2tsp salt in your palm, lick it off and follow with a big glass of water) that should take care of it in 15 minutes or so. If not you can take an Advil or something. I'm on week 3 and feel great but those first few days were rough!

2Riderrollercoaster: Thanks for the information..I am going to try the curry. Found it on Netrition.com Hope you have a good weekend.

Fat BanK? Only in the US could this happen. There actually is a Fat Bank where you can deposit your fat! You can store it to use for later plastic surgeries such as filling your lips. You get to keep the fat from liposuctions
and then deposit it.

I found this to be hilarious..bizarre.. It is too bad none of here can be paid for all of the fat we have lost. We could be rich!

Good morning!! So last night was my first major test of staying OP. I went to a women's event at church and it was a potluck. Man the food my table companions were eating looked AMAZING!!! I had eaten before I left so I just had a cup of coffee. I did add about 1/2 of one of those personal sized creamers in it because it was STRONG but we did some Zumba so I figure I burned off the calories from that ;)

I need some input from you wonderful IPers about 2 things:

1.Tonight I've been invited to go out with some friends to a sushi bar. I REALLY want to go, but I want to make sure I stay OP. Do you think a 10 piece order of Sushimi (which is just the fish, no rice) with soy sauce, wasabi and a side salad would be okay? The fish theywerveis "Chef Selection" so I don't have much say in it, but I can't imagine anything that would be bad, and I would think 10 pieces would be withing the 5-8oz rule.

2. How do you deal with people who you know are going to be completely unsupported of your plan? Most of my friends are trainers / health nuts who are all about balanced diets (I even took a diet / nutrition class from one of them) and they're against the whole low carb things. They've all noticed I'm on a diet of some kind because I haven't been eating with them (and applauded my will power last night) but when they asked what plan I was on I just said I was doing my own thing.

Ugh, I hated potlucks when I was on program - so much to say no to! And then you don't know how anything is cooked... The first potluck I went to after starting IP, there were some other women who were doing a Biggest Loser competition and one of them came and sat down next to me because she knew that I wouldn't be eating anything and then she wouldn't be tempted either! We can strengthen each other.

The sashimi sounds perfect and as someone else recommended, I'd try to get the salad without dressing. I'm really surprised your coach said the edamame was okay - I've always heard it's a no-no.

And just saying you're doing your own thing is perfect - it's none of their business and you don't need to worry about defending your choices to anyone else.

They can get us in with a different artist, but I've never seen his work in person and now I'm totally nervous. He has less experience than the other guy, which doesn't mean he's not as good. Like I said, I just haven't seen in person what he's capable of. Decisions, decisions.

Go with your gut - if you're nervous about the artist, take some more time to find one you're comfortable with. Or can you find out where the one you chose has gone too?

I swear it gets better. The first week is the hardest. I did IP for 8 months. Drink your water, take some before pictures and keep active - if you get bored, then you start thinking about food. :)

Mrs D- So good to see you! Sounds like you are doing well. We have a thread for maintainers now and we would love to have you chime in. Come over and say Hi.

Thanks everyone for your support! My husband and I are going to a movie tonight so that should help take my mind off how I am feeling. I also am going to take my "before" shot when I am all dressed up for our date!

Hello all! I had a busy day. I started off with my WI. I lost .3 lbs. That's my lowest weight loss so far, but I was not at all bothered by it. Funny thing is, I feel like I've done so well that I was bound to have 1 week where the weight didn't fall off me!

My coach did my measurements today and we looked back over how many inches I've lost - about 5" off my hips, 4" off my waist, 3" off my thighs - that's unbelievable.

Have great night everyone!

Ryuu 09-24-2011 10:28 PM

I am on day 9 and from day 1 to day 5 I didnt feel well, headaches, cravings, hungry and oh so thirsty. Now I don't get hungry as often, headaches are mostly gone although i am prone to them to begin with so it may be just me, cravings are mostly non-existent. Hang in there, it will get better.

On another note, I had a bit of a challenging day today, foodwise. Was shopping with my kids and had planned to be home for lunch but we ended up taking longer than expected. I went to a grocery store that had a deli in it and ordered a salad even though the pizza, fried chicken, and other stuff looked so so good. Kids had their corndogs, pop, and cheeto's, and a few cookies. That was tough. I really wanted some pop and those cookies looked so good. I did accidently take a sip of pop when I reached for my water without looking and grabbed pop instead. I was surprised that the sip I took really didnt taste that good.

I am finding that I am unable to finish 2c. vegi and protein lately. Feeling really full. I don't want to keep eating after I am full. Should I skip the rest of the food or maybe eat it later between meals?
