Hello everybody,

It was the worst weekend ever for me, the worst cheat I could have ever imagined putting myself through :(. I blame it all on my TOM, it was awful, it gave me the worst craving and I ate all the wrong things, starting with sweets: candies, biscuits, fruits, and ending with carbs: bread and pasta and to top it all, I ate a lot.

Obviously, today, the scale showed a huge difference, I gained 6 whole pounds! God ! It surely sucks to be a woman sometimes.

Now, back to the program, but what a bad timing to gain the 6 lb, I have a wedding on this coming Sunday and I was dreaming of hitting -40 pounds, instead, now I gained :(((.

Hope everybody did better than me.

I think all of us have been there fighting cravings, but please don't be too hard on yourself, instead, move forward today! I have been there so many times and feel so much better when I acknowledge it (confess to the forum), forgive myself and get back on track. You've already confessed :) forgive yourself (you are only human) and congratulations for being strong enough to get back on track today!

I feel like i'm being reprimanded and need to convince her that i'm not cheating. And i was supposed to be remeasured after 3 weeks and she won't even measure me still until i have a big enough loss!

Well I think you should demand (in a nice way) to be measured. You might be losing inches and not pounds, then you would feel better. You do not have to convince her of anything, you know you are staying true to yourself and that is all that matters. YOU are NOT failing!!! YOU are doing GREAT, just slow!

Hello to all,
I thought I would introduce myself (again). I was on IP from Oct 2010-April 2011 and I lost 50 pounds. I managed to gain only 7 pounds from May to now, trying to maintain on South Beach, gluten-free, exercising, etc. All I did was excuse my carb load for my running/jogging (I needed the carbs to run). Well, it didn't work too well...so I am back on IP, this time determined to get these last 50 pounds off and focus on having a healthy pregnancy.

I am on day 3 today and finally out of the headache/fatigue fog and feeling clear headed and energetic today! The first time I did IP, I was working full time and going to grad school full time, so I barely had time to exercise and I felt low energy, stressed, deprived and hungry most of the time. Now, I am home, working at my own pace and able to devote time to self-care and meal preparation and I definitely feel a difference. I have exercised everyday so far and was amazed at the energy boost it gave me. I was resting with a blinding carb/sugar detox headache yesterday when my husband encouraged me to get out of bed and walk with him. I am so glad he pushed me to get up because I woke up today feeling better, was able to exercise and now I just finished lunch and feel fantastic. This is the "IP energy-high" everyone was talking about. I had it so fleeting the first time around with IP, it was very difficult for me to stay motivated.

I really hope this means this time will be easier/better?. Anyway, I wish everyone a happy day!

Today’s thread has been so helpful. Thank you to everyone for sharing and encouragement.

I am stalled, discouraged, waiting for TOM, cravings and hungry. I am 47 and TOM has a mind of it's own, 28 days was normal, 45 days worse case...and feel like it is TOM between 28 and whenever it decides to show up. (can you say "cranky"?)

I had a successful OP weekend with company in town, so I am very grateful.

That is why this thread is so encouraging, what works and what doesn't, success and suggestions. Have a great week.

Welcome back and good luck through the first few trying days/weeks. I just wanted to say hey because I am also between pregnancies and wanting to be at my goal before trying to conceive sometime this winter/next spring.

Congratulations to all of those who have lost this week! Especially those of you who have made it to the halfway mark (or past!)!!

I have unknowingly cheated for the last 2 weeks. :(

I am not a big vegetable person, so when I got my Phase 1 sheet I memorized the few I would eat and then looked at the restricted vegetables and saw that the 2 a week would be easy because there were only a few I would eat there too.

Well, I printed a copy at work to decide what new veggies I was going to try this week and noticed it says NOT PERMITTED next to the avocado that I have been eating for the last 2 weeks. :o

I am amazed I still lost last week, because that's what I had for my 2 restricted, and I am sure my loss wont be what it should be this week because again, I had avocado.

Sooo, make sure you actually read the protocol sheet instead of scanning it like I did!

Something about losing 30 sounds much better than losing 20 to me for some reason. And I'm sure 40 will feel even better and so on. So, I'm just a little excited this morning. Crossing my fingers it takes a few friends by official weigh in Thursday!

Have a great Monday!

Congrats on hitting the milestone! They always feel good! I hit the 30 lb mark about 2 weeks ago, and am now eyeing 40lbs. Each 10 lbs gets us closer to our goals

It sounds to me like someone needs a new coach! You need someone who will give you ideas, dedicate their time to your issues, success and struggles and create plans for increasing your losses. :high:
Even the one week I had a .8 gain because of TOM, my coach was super positive and reassured me it wasn't me. Are there any other clinics in your area?

IMO your coach is on crack. I hate it when they pull out that they have never seen such slow losses bull. You had 2 real big losses right away. I think your body is just adjusting now to that. I bet you have lost inches tho the last 2 times. Don't let her make you feel crappy. You are doing great and loosing just fine. You might see some bigger ones in the next few weeks.

Another attempt at keeping up with daily chat - hoping to be able to!

Good morning and welcome to another week! Week 16 for me so officially 4 months on IP. Been a little bit stuck lately. With reason - lets just say that. I had a 2 day (planned) cheat. Not this past weekend but the one before. I was completely OP with food but cheated with alcohol. We saw concerts two different nights and I can say it was amazing and so much fun/totally worth it but gosh I am still paying for it.

The week prior to the cheat I was 138.8. The week after the concerts it put me back to 141.2. This will be my first gain (also first {major}cheat) since starting. I wonder how long it will take me to get back on track? I would love to be back to the 138.8 at this week's WI (Tue) but I don't know if its going to happen.

More than anything at all it brought cravings back full force!!! Isn't that something!? So on two occasions since then I have added a 4th packet. But its the best I can do to stay on track.
So where I sit I am blaming my cheat weekend, TOM, and the big C. Hoping to turn things back around reaalllll soon! Weigh in Tue (at night) and will be satisfied with anything below 141.

Other random mentionings:
Gosh that pancake is good. I'm finding its starting to become like the bars - almost too good and leaving me wanting more.
I started having the Target brand, Archer Farms, spring water. They are just so delicious and fend off cravings that I've been having lately. (they are sucralose, not aspartame)

Really wanting to start using alternative products from Nashua this week. I know exactly which ones I want and have compared nutritional values. holy crap I can't believe the difference in cost. I can get the same amount of food for far less than half the cost. Not sure how to work this out. As in why aren't you buying all of your food this week? Any tips for that? I still want to be able to go into the clinic for supplements/WF and the foods that I don't want from online.

NSV that I realized happened last week. My waistline is smaller than my husband's since…NEVER. I have never been a smaller size jean/pant than him. That is kind of neat.

Oh and following up from weekend chat I took magnesium citrate for the first time last night. Is there anything anyone thinks I should know about that? I'm just plain not going enough, only every 2 days. Yes I get all my water, No I'm not very good at getting all my lettuce.

Wait, do you mean that you took it last night and it hasn't done anything yet? Did you take 2tbs or the whole bottle?

I took the recommended 2tbsp for a few days and it did nothing. At one point I took the whole bottle, and that DID what it was supposed to do. (though I was miserable for about 2 days)

Question??
I made a turkey, mushroom dish using the broc/cheese IP soup. Six people ate, so do I count it as a pack or just some extra protein?

I would count it as extra protein.
