Good Point Colley, it took me over 2 full months to lose that much!

When I started this plan, one of the thoughts in the back of my mind was "my blood pressure will go down". I do not have high cholesterol -- so that is not what causes the high bp. My blood pressure has not gone down at all; of course, it has not gone up with is a good thing. High BP for me must not be weigh related!

I guess when it is all over (when I hit maintenance), I will do a kidney cleanse and see if that improves things.

Has anyone else experienced not having their bp improve on IP?

Sooo disappointed, only lost 1.6lbs :( My coach can't believe it, she's going to call the dr. that looks over for our region as she's NEVER seen anything like this. She thinks that for some reason, my body just isn't eliminating anything. I told her that in the past few years, any diet i tried, i just couldn't lose any weight so here we go again. As much as i don't want to give up....i'm starting to wonder what's the point...

 I'm sorry Busymom, I know you were hoping for better. But it's still 1.6 lbs GONE FOREVER! :D Don't give up, stay the course and keep using that CALM. The whoosh fairy may visit you yet! I like what Jennydoodle has been saying...I think I do that naturally (a few restricted and then none, a little more fat in a meal here and there) because I feel better without the restricted everyday and some weeks when I go for supper I want the bigger steak! lol. It may take a while to find your groove but I know you'll find it, I KNOW it!.

Great day to all. Wanted to share my good news. I've been on program (alternative) 2 weeks and in addition to being down 11 lbs, my cholesterol is down 50 points!!!! Hooray for me. 8 weeks ago, when I gave blood it was 257 (not good) and after I gave blood on Sat. It was 207.

Sorry it is not as much as you wanted but I think you are doing pretty good. You have lost more than I did in 4 weeks and my coach didn't seem concerned at all. You have lost an average of almost 5lbs per week! I know the last 2 have been slower but I bet your next weigh in will be better. Stick to it and I think you may surprise yourself. :)

Hello everybody,

It was the worst weekend ever for me, the worst cheat I could have ever imagined putting myself through :(. I blame it all on my TOM, it was awful, it gave me the worst craving and I ate all the wrong things, starting with sweets: candies, biscuits, fruits, and ending with carbs: bread and pasta and to top it all, I ate a lot.

Obviously, today, the scale showed a huge difference, I gained 6 whole pounds! God ! It surely sucks to be a woman sometimes.

Now, back to the program, but what a bad timing to gain the 6 lb, I have a wedding on this coming Sunday and I was dreaming of hitting -40 pounds, instead, now I gained :(((.

Hope everybody did better than me.

Get right back on plan and drink at least a gallon of water a day and in 2 days, those 6 ils will be gone. It is the carbs holding water that showed up as a huge gain. Really-go for it and carry on.

We can have green beans they are occassional vegs (2times a week) so you will be fine.

Looks like some of us had a trying weekend but we got through them. Its Monday so now we have to get back in the groove of things for the week. I hope all of our East coast peeps are safe. Have a great Monday!

A long time ago I lost 50 lbs and I was very disappointed that my blood pressure didn't go down. I whined to my doctor about it and he told me that it had been high for so long and I had been on meds for so long that it would never be normal. On the other hand, About 3 years ago it went up and my meds were increased. I'd be really happy just to be able to go back to my original meds. Not likely though.

It took me 8 weeks to lose that much, I wish I had lost 1.6 last week. Maybe your expectations are too high? I know we all want immediate results but how long did it take you to gain 18 lbs? I'd think more about losing 18 lbs in 4 weeks and less about a 1.6 this week.

Trust in the process and you will be successful.

It could be that or that you are not eating enough and your body is in starvation mode and hanging onto reserves. I would make sure you eat on program today, take a 30 minute walk, drink lots of water, get in your 2 tsp olive oil and your sea salt and weight again tomorrow to see if it went down. If not, I would go to your naturopath or ip coach because temporary fluctuations in weight or not feeling well are normal but prolonged means a mineral deficit and that should not be ignored. Good luck and I hope everything goes down tomorrow!

Busymom: You've lost over 19 pounds. It took me 6 weeks to lose 20 so I don't think you or your coach have anything to worry about. Head up and keep going.

Busymomx4 08-29-2011 01:59 PM

Thank you everyone  I think i wouldn't feel so upset if my coach wasn't telling me that its not normal, maybe i'm doing something wrong, she's never seen such low losses before, etc...its making me feel like i'm totally failing or that my body is failing me. I feel like i'm being reprimanded and need to convince her that i'm not cheating. And i was supposed to be remeasured after 3 weeks and she won't even measure me still until i have a big enough loss!
