I believe restricted foods are the foods that have a higher content of carbs, I think if it's over 7 grams of carbs it is restricted, meaning you can have only 1 per day but please someone correct me if I am wrong.
You are correct.
All the good stuff, like the ridges, chocolate balls, all the bars, etc.
I usually opt to have mine for my evening snack.
Most of them are pretty good, and some of them I would even eat if I wasn't on a diet lol.
Is it common to have your coach not give you any of these foods. I never got any bars or anything like that. I just have drinks, jellos, soups, and omelets.
I believe the carb count for restricteds is actually anything over 10 or 12. Because the chocolate drink is 9 carbs, and it is unrestricted (at my clinic anyway).

I used to always have mine in the evening, too. Like dessert. They really are delicious.
But my coach had me switch any restricteds to the morning or lunch, and it has really helped my losses. A few other people have said the same thing.

A lot of coaches won't give you restricted items for the first 3 weeks or more. (Mind you some do).
I am finally hitting my third weigh in and will be able to get them this week. Just not sure if I want them or not.

I've noticed the opposite recently. I also wasn't getting my 3rd "packet" in when I was eating my restricted at lunch so I had to switch it back to between 8 and 9. In maintenance don't they say to eat the carbs at night? Why wouldn't you want the most carbs at night now then? I'm confused.

That confused me too, because you would think it would be the same now, but both of my coaches (I switched a few weeks ago) have told me that on phase 1 it was important for me to eat the restricteds in the morning. When I asked my first coach why it was different in phase 4, she just said that the carbs at night was more for energy the next day, not for weight loss, whereas burning the carbs during the day was better for losing weight... I don't know how well informed she was though.
I have to admit that when I switched it up and started doing higher carbs in the morning my losses went up pretty nicely. But that could just be my body, or even just the switch that did it. I am not really sure but hearing it from two different clinics and then several people on these boards convinced me to give it a try and I am glad I did.
I do miss my dessert though. lol
