Morning Everyone and TGIF!

Dang! I was hoping/expecting a 2lb loss this week, but the scale only showed a 0.6 loss! Ugh. We scoured my food log and couldn't really pinpoint anything other than I am having the IP oatmeal and BBQ chips every day, which though unrestricted, are on the higher end of the carb scale for an IP product. Also suggested to up my water to at least 80 oz, preferably 90+ (was taking in 64-72) and I freely offered that I need to get off my butt and MOVE more. The weather is cooperating now, so I need to get out and get some brisk walking in. So, not what I had hoped, but it has not dampened my resolve - in fact, it has sparked more determination to get that scale moving again! And it helps when I check the weekly losses of those who have made goal and are in maintenance, and for many I see they also had low/no loss weeks. Often the next week they play 'catch up'. So I'm not discouraged. Onward and downward! PS - I have checked my ketones daily and have never slipped out of ketosis, so that kind of reinforces that it is not an issue of maybe eating the wrong things. As far as I know, and my coach agrees, I am staying within all IP guidelines. Just a small bump in the road - I will consider hurdling it as 'exercise'

Did your coach tell you a week 3, 4, or 5 slowdown is normal or did s/he just look for ways to blame you? Was there a discussion about weight loss not being linear when graphed, but rather a jagged line?

Was there a CELEBRATION of the lower number on the scale?
"Only" is a four-letter word to avoid in conjunction with WL.
Let's look at your 4 week average and celebrate!

No need to tweak or hack an already very restrictive plan. Keep up the good work!!!

Good Morning Rebooters. Weekends tend to be the hardest for me to stay OP. I think it is the ideal of associating weekends with food and drinks. Having a family dinner this weekend with my sister cooking. She does not cook healthy. She did not know I had been on my reboot for almost a month. I informed her that I will come to the dinner but don't be offended if I do not eat. Her theory is there is always tomorrow. I felt like if I informed her ahead of time there will not be any drama. On this diet we need to be selfish and look out for ourselves and not worry about what others might think. I will go to the dinner stay 100% OP and have as good of time as everyone else.

Thanks for the encouraging words Lisa! Actually, my coach is very supportive. She has lost over 100lbs on IP and knows all the pitfalls - has also maintained for 5 years now (she is thin and beautiful - hate her ), though even she had to do a recent reboot when she found she had let 20 lbs creep back when she had a recent personal struggle to overcome. She's taken it all back off. So, I do believe she has some good insight. And I know I am lucky to have such an invested coach! She told me not to be discouraged and we did celebrate the loss, but I appreciate that she does take her coaching seriously enough to see if she can spot any issues and 'coach' me through it if so. I think she is the perfect combination of cheerleader and coach

Lucky you!
I'm so glad she celebrated your loss. It is so easy to get discouraged over what ends up (in the long run) being a small thing.

Oh...and...don't hate her for her thinnness....join her!

This is Day #1 of my (re-)boot. I am double alternative-product and protocol.
Just did my weigh-in, ate breakfast, took supplements, and now drinking my first glasses of water for the day.

Happy First Day of Spring!

I'm so glad it's Spring! Just hoping the weather continues to act like it

3sisters--it sounds like you have an awesome coach, and I'm glad you celebrated the heck out of that loss. A loss is a loss, no matter how small it may feel, that's weight that is gone for good! Lisa and kimo are right, join her in her thinness!

I'm off tonight for a weekend with the in-laws. I'm already planning, and making sure I am prepared as possible! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Default Question?

Happy first day of spring Everyone. Woke up to the deck covered in snow. Really hope mother nature is having a good laugh.

Lisa may I ask a personal question....you said that your thyroid issue developed about 5 months into the diet...Did you have systems or discovered by blood test. I ask because before I started IP only discovered through blood work that my thyroid was under active. I had gained weight but thought it was more from eating unhealthy because I felt fine.

I have been doing IP since October and blood work in December was good. Just had blood work done again and now my reading are out of wack but I feel the fine.

I am a fairly active person...I am doing the treadmill every other day and walking at least 3 miles on the off days. My legs are tired but I just put that down to the exercise.

Just wondered what were your symptoms

Hope you have a good visit with the inlaws this weekend and that they're supportive of you on IP! Good on your for planning and being prepared! It's so important. Bet you can't wait for that feeling you'll get when you weigh yourself after the weekend and there's a loss! I always love when I do something outside of my regular routine, stay OP, and see a loss.

Hey IPeeps, happy spring The best time of year in the "Big Land"; warmer temps but still enough snow and ice to play!

I will be starting Phase 3 tomorrow and have my breakfast all figured out! I think...

I feel good enough about it to tackle my cabin trip and my work trip. Though because I am going up the North coast of Labrador I have to bring all my own food (the restaurant is not equipped to handle special orders, it's either item A or B assuming they don't run out!) At least it's only 3 days worth of food I just hope I don't forget anything, and we don't get stuck there due to bad weather.

Welcome to the new and rebooters, I hope everyone has a great OP weekend!
