Default I made IP Gummie Bears!? (I think)

I "think" I actually made up an approved recipe for gummie bears! Could all of you experts out there see if this is acceptable and usable as an IP non- restricted snack? Will the Knox add too many calories, etc?

Here it is:

1/3 cup water
1 pkg IP raspberry jelly mix
2 envelopes Knox unflavored Gelatin

Mix all 3 ingredients together well and let set 5 min or so.
Heat gently and stir often until gelatin dissolves. (about 5 min) I did not bring mine to a boil in fear of scorching it!

Pour carefully into candy molds if you have them. (I just poured mine in an 8x8 glass dish then cut into bite size pieces with a pizza cutter)

Refrigerate til set up. (did not take long at all)
Thats it!!

Let me know what you guys think! I hope this is approved, cuz I will take these with me when I am at a movie or need something chewy for an on-the-go snack.
Next time I may add a bit of MIO to add more flavor to them.

Looks like a great idea!!! I might even try to find a recipe that skips the $4.50 IP raspberry. Did you prep the glass baking dish with anything to make the IP product not stick?

Well, I wondered the same thing about not using an IP product. Hmm...
I just lined my 8x8 pan with non-stick foil. I did not spread it all out evenly because it would have been too thin. Something smaller than an 8x8 would be even better. After it was cooled, it very easily lifted off the foil! I may make a batch using just the Knox and MIO. Then would it be a totally "free" snack that can occasionally be enjoyed? Not sure since KNOX has calories and protein.

What about using sugar free Jell-o?? I am new to the diet (day 2), and unsure, could someone please clarify if this would be ok?

Sorry don't know how else to link pictures.

You can use sugar free jell-o occasionally, just remember that "sugar free" does NOT mean 100% carb free. It just means there is less than 1g carb per serving - but those carbs still add up if you use multiple 0-carb products (WF, Mio, Crystal Light, etc) in a day. If you limit yourself to a few "extras" per day it's usually fine unless you have a high sensitivity to artificial sweeteners.

It uses aspartame so it is a no! I'm going to try the know gelatin Mio combo tonight to try making gummi bears.

Is this KNOX stuff available at WalMart or Target? I have an alternative jello that I think tastes like pink lemonade and would make yummy gummies.

Yay! Candy makes me happy (which is probably part of the problem).

I'm not sure if you saw above, but I asked about the no sugar added Jell-o and was told it was not allowed b/ of the aspartame.

Knox "unflavored" Gelatin is widely available in the same location as the other Jellos. At our stores it is usually on the top shelf.

Not all coaches restrict aspartame. I was told just to limit ALL extras with artificial sweetener. Artificial is artificial.
