I have a really silly question about sleep and hunger - Does anyone else find that when they're tired, it's harder to stay "full"?
Normally I'm just fine with the plan, I have my packets (+ 2 egg whites for breakfast) per day and never really feel hungry. Lately though, hot weather and long work days have left me with no sleep and now it seems I am hungry all the time! I've been drinking lots of water to stay hydrated and eating all my veggies and salads and dinner protein, but holy schnoot am I starving! It's like the hunger signals to my brain have no shut off switch! Weird huh?
Just curious if this is just one of my odd body-attack things, or if everyone goes through this?
I used to when I first cut out all the junk from my diet but lately the only time I'm full-on starving, so to speak, is when I'm about to get my "monthly visitor". Then I want to eat everything in sight, lol. I think for me my body just needed to get used to eating a lot less sugar and more "whole foods". After so many years, it was reacting adversely, I think.
I feel like I'm more hungry when I'm tired too. I think it's because food is energy to the body and if we haven't gotten energy through resting, our bodies try to make up the difference through food.
I went through the hunger problem too. Usually it happened to me in mid afternoon or after dinner. I just ate a couple dill pickles when it happened because I was determined not to cheat. This was when I was on phase I and II. My coach didn't really have any useful information about what to do about it either. She said that you just have to fight through it. It did stop and I wish I had some useful tips for you. Hopefully it'll go away soon.
I am Phase 1 and do fell hunger after dinner. I alternate between drinking Talking Rain, herbal tea, and water.
I do seek food when I am very tired. I find my lowest energy in the day is around 3-5 pm . That is when I have my snack.
