Default TMI question Sorry.....please response asap

Ok so...I have been going to #2 meaning bowel movement...but it really hurts. I feel like I am carrying it in my stomach. I am sorry being to TMI but I need help.

When I went in for my weigh in again did not loose single pound in fact 134 instead 131. They asked me if I am retaining water in my body...I am like what kind of question is that. I don't know if I am retaining water in my body. All I know I am drinking 1 LTR water a day. and when I go bathroom my stool is very hard and really hurts.

Please please ladies help me. Any tips on softening my bowel movements and not retaining water in my body would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Thank you all in advance!

My clinic suggests using a product they sell called Novi-Lax. It does work for constipation. You may also try an over the counter stool softner and or laxative. Are you eating plenty of lettuce? It does help along with more water. Others on here may have more ideas. These just came to my mind.

Hope this helps.

It is an IP product. You could go to a Walgreens or other store and ask the pharmacist for a gentle laxative that works over night. Some are harsh on your system and work fast and you wouldn't want to leave the house

I looked on the back of my bottle of it and the active ingredients are
psyllium 250 mg
aloe vera 150 mg and
prune powder 50 mg.

The pharmacist should be able to answer all your questions about what products you can buy over the counter.

I don't know very much about IP, but 1 liter doesn't sound like nearly enough water to me. About dot com has a hydration calculator you might want to check it out...

Oh, and my bottle says 1 -2 in the evening. I usually take just one when I need it.

Hope this helps. It's a terrible feeling to have I know.

I agree 1 litre isn't enough water...also you can buy Senna tea at most pharmacy's or grocery stores, it will work overnight to get things moving. More water!!

I think drinking a lot more water (I drink close to a gallon a day) and eating more fiber will help a lot. Also take a stool softener to get things back on track in the meantime!

Generally, water consumption should be by half your body weight=Minimum. 100 pounds @ 50 ounces. IP suggests 80 ounces, on top of drinks and you are encouraged to drink more. 4 cups of vegetables a day are important to the amount of protein consumed. I believe the IP product is a natural vegetable stool softener and will help when you may need it. More water, eat your veggies and get some help when needed. You're not alone though. Many have experienced your dilemma. Hope you feel better.

I would suggest something you can buy at almost any pharmacy called :Sodium Dulcocate. Its a natural stool softener..The difference between laxatives and stool softeners is that a laxative causes contractions in the bowels to force whatever is in your system to come out...A stool softener however, is a capsule that contains a type of jelly or oil that helps to soften up the hard compacted stools making them softer for you to push out..

In your case, i suggest you take a laxative, because the problem with taking a stool softener at this moment, is that its going to stay at the top of your intestinal system..it wont make its way down to your lower bowels..But after you take a laxative..my suggestion would be to take the stool softener on a daily basis to prevent hard and compacted stools.
