Shopping List

  • I'm going shopping tomorrow so I am all set for week 2. I was just curious if there's anything I "need" to get that maybe I haven't heard about yet. What are some of the things that reappear on your list week after week?
  • I always make sure I have enough WF dressings for the week, olive oil, my veggies (cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, tomato). I have also began buying different types of extracts for flavoring, I buy like 2 a week since they are kind of pricey. I also buy my MIO (water flavoring). That is all I can think of for now.
  • I didn't think about extracts. What are you flavoring?
  • The puddings and drinks, sometimes i put some in my oatmeal as well
  • Veggies and meat, mostly...

Every week: Big tub of baby lettuce mixed with baby spinach, baby Persian cucumbers, celery, assorted bell peppers, fennel, turnips, tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, asparagus, mushrooms, limes. I always get chicken breasts and some nice steak. I sometimes get flank steak... I am allergic to fish and seafood

Not every week: cauliflower, celery root,

Drinks: Skinny Water (orange cranberry tangerine), Perrier, Smart Water... Pure Protein Vanilla RTD (from Target) to put in my coffee in the morning. I have the water essence flavors from SodaStream and put those in bubbly water. They have citrus, lemon-lime, and berry. They are zero calories...

Spices: Penzeys!!! Check out penzeys dot com. I use their mixed seasonings that don't have any sugar. I can make thigs taste Mexian, Chinese, Indian, Italian, etc... all very easily. I also LOVE the 21 Seasoning Salute from Trader Joes. Soy sauce from Whole Foods... Chopped garlic in a squeeze jar. Grey Poupon mustard for making salad dressing.

Salad dressing: Look at netrition dot com for the entire selection of WF dressings.
For salads, I like Zesty Italian, Italian, and Chipotle Ranch. For cooking, I like the Sesame Ginger. I really like the Thick and Spicy BBQ sauce.\

Alternative products: Pure Protein bars (S'mores are the best) in case of emergency... I have eaten about 3 of these since starting the program, twice which happened when I was traveling and didn't have enough IP products with me, so I ran into a CVS and bought a bar.
  • What a neat idea! I like to see what other people are buying to get some new ideas!

I always buy 2 or 3 bags of some kind of lettuce. Mostly Romaine or an Italian blend. Turnips, zucchini, bell peppers and mushrooms in the produce section. Cauliflower, broccoli and asparagus I normally buy frozen.

For meats I get chicken breast, lean steaks, extra lean hamburger, pork loin, shrimp, salmon, scallops, eggs, egg whites in a carton.

spices and seasonings, I use a lot of garlic powder and onion powder on my meats and veggies. Tomato Basil Mrs Dash is another favorite, and southwest chipolte Mrs Dash. I use them both to doctor up my WF Italian dressing, and I use it on Chicken. I have the land o lakes parmesan and herb, and butter seasoning I use those on broccoli when I get bored with plain broccoli. And I use cajun seafood seasoning on scallops, shrimp and salmon. Lemon juice and lime juice too. (Always check and spices for sugar)
I also use vanilla extract and almond extract.

I occasionally buy skinny water (lemonade something or other), and flavored sparkling water (watch out for aspartame!)

Pickles, mustard, Soy sauce, WF Dressings or sauces (I try to buy new ones to try every couple weeks)

I don't buy all this stuff every week. I try to watch for sales and stock up. Plus my kids eat what I eat (for dinner anyways) and some of the lunches. And I am a lazy cook. I like to just put something in a pan season it up, and throw it in the oven or boil it or saute it quick, so I can do other stuff.
