I know this is a far stretch, but does anyone know any IP friendly restaurants in Edmonton Alberta? I'm looking to go out for a nice dinner tonight, and hoping I can eat IP, Canadian chain restaurant suggestions could work too!
Thanks
I used to eat out all the time when I was OP (taking a break right now). We would go to Montanas, I would have steak (no sauce) and extra veggies instead of the starch. BPs has a ok steak sandwich and Red Lobster has some good choices you just have to try and say no to those little bisquits! :P I always checked online before going.

I'm not in Canada, but I would think at just about any restaurant you can get a grilled piece of meat or fish with steamed veggies and a salad. Or a large salad with grilled chicken, steak or fish. I have found myself at sports bars, italian restaurants and even chain restaurants and have not had a problem finding either of these items.
I am from Edmonton and here is what I found... If you go to the mongoli grill on tuesday's for lunch they have an all you can put in your bowl for a flat fee. You can load up on meat and veg, say no to the rice and stick to the garlic and hot oil for the sauces. I also have a friend who's family owns thnah thnah noodle house. When I go I order the grilled beef. It comes on sticks. I ask for extra lettuce and I make a sort of beef and lettuce tacos. They come with mint and cucumber. Ask for the lemon / salt sauce instead of the fish sauce cause it has sugar in it. I get them to prepare their cubed beef without sugar. I take it home and freeze in baggys for salads.. It's super good beef.
the Keg... Steak with a side salad
Moxie's - steak or dry grilled salmon with a side salad
Flat Iron Grill - Lots of meat choices - Side Salad
Pretty much any restuarant will let you pick out what you do or don't want
I have modified so many salads and meals ( I travel for work around BC and AB) I simply say that I have an intolerance for what ever is on the menu.
Okay I go to Daddeo's on White and have the blackened catfish salad, no oranges, no nuts and salad dressing on the side.
In Leduc, Kosmos, there steak sandwich minus the bread and fries is good with a side salad, or the spinach salad is great.
Red Robin's lettuce wrapped burger is good too.
OMG I love Dadeos, too bad i cant go there cause all i want to eat from there is the fries!!! but if i do get suckered in by my brother i will try that salad!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on Daddeo's - for some reason I just thought "well that's a favourite I won't be having for a while".
I went to Franco's on the northside and they were great about "plain, no marinade steak" and loads of steamed veggies. They have a great salad and were very accommodating with just plain olive oil and vinegar dressing.
Apparently (if it's in your budget), Ruth's Chris is also really happy to make sure there are no marinades etc on their meat if you ask.
I think for the most part if you just make sure to mention food intolerance restaurants will go the extra mile to stick to what you ask.
