I think there are sugar free Halls. I'm not sure what sweetener they are made with but you could take a look. I think anything would be better than full sugar.

People say splenda is best. I've occasionally had things with aspertame.

When my allergies are really bad I feel like I have a golf ball stuck in my throat. Considering that I have to talk all day at work, I use sugar free lozenges, but I stick with 2-3 a day. I also drink a lot of lemon herbal tea or hot water with lemon.
The cough drops I use are just a store brand and they're sweetened with acesulfame potassium. I think most sugar free lozenges are sweetened with acesulfame potassium or aspertame. Maby not totally OP, but better than the alternative if you really need them! Perhaps try the lemon tea first if you're concerned about the sweetener?

If you can get to a drug store you can also ask them what kind of cough drops / cough syrup that diabetics can use. Then look at the ingredients to try to find ones with either stevia or splenda (sucralose) instead of nutrasweet (asparatame).

I hope you feel better!!!

I also read somewhere here that fisherman's friend doesn't have sugar.

If you want to try something natural: Make tea out of dried sage or see if you can find sage tea. Good for sore throught and cough.

Halls does make sugar-free drops and there are sugar-free cough syrups out there. You might also try gargling with some warm salt water for a sore throat. I also use Vick's Vaporub when I have coughing issues.

I hope you feel better soon!

I found having a cold and being OP a real pain! I ended up giving in to nursing the cold with what usually worked for me....liquid dayquil, liquid nyquil, cough drops, etc. I might have knocked myself out of ketosis at the time but I still lost weight! Seriously....your priority needs to be getting yourself healthy again. Then get back OP. BTW...I also popped a lot of cold FX (in Canada) and echinacea drops. I found i fought my cold much faster this time then usual

Hope you're feeling better soon!
