Hi all, I am on day 2 and really hoping the headaches and nausea die off in the next couple days. They do right? LOL

Browneyes: I am sorry you had a bad mothers day. I personally think Mothers day is a completely BS day to begin with, As a woman with 7 years of IF and 10 m/c under her belt it never comes as a happy day. I think that a day where we are reminded to treat our mothers respect is really not necessary, why do we need to send a card thanking our mothers once a year when we should be telling them we love them all the time. I don't get it.
I think I am also extra bitter about the mothers day thing this year because my DBF mother was laying on the guilt trip large yesterday that he didn't plan to take her for dinner. We just took her for a weeks vacation in the caribbean and got back on May1. We had them to our condo, we took them out for dinner 3 times at very nice places, we took them to an out island and even had a limo pick them up for dinner one night. Some of the dinner bills were 500$, arrrgggghhh...This is the same woman that whines and complains if DBF spends a dime, UNLESS its on her. My DBF sister lives in another city and all she did was call.
My 2 mothers (mother and step mother) received cards from me because we live far away. They know not to make a big stink about the whole mothers day.. its a day I like to wipe clean fro my calendar each year personally.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day.. wish me luck I have to take the DBF mother out for mothers day dinner tonight :)

I'm not a mom to human kids, so we didn't really celebrate mother's day at my house. We did do mother's day Friday with his mom and Saturday with my mom since Sunday was our anniversary. Hard to believe we've been married 12 years! To celebrate we took the dog to the park and had homemade IP friendly tacos with no shells and with vegan cheese for dinner. I felt like I was having a treat!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and continues to have a great week!

i am SO SO proud of you! i know you can do this and you will lose the weight you want. just keep trucking on. :smug:

I am starting week 2 on IP and feel great! Today is my first WI and I know that I have lost. How much is the question. I feel like I could start excersing today, but am going to follow my coach's advice and not workout for 2 weeks. Pretty tough fo me, as I typically workout 6 times a week. I keep telling myself, "all in good time, enjoy the break"! I have a lot of energy and have been cleaning out a closet a day! Feels awesome. I was prepared to be tired, grumpy and hungry. Haven't really been any of those for any extended period of time. I do crave a glass of wine . . . I am doing this with a really good friend of mine and that helps tons! If I even think of cheating, I think of having to face her and admit it. Keeps me honest!

Have a great day everyone!

Started 3rd week

This will be my 3rd week using alternative products. I only lost 2.4 pounds last week, but I guess that is better than I did on WW. It was a tough week too. I was so tired. I started feeling better Saturday, so maybe I am getting my energy back.

You crack me up, Laura. I won't buy the bars either. I know I'd have no self control. My coach thinks I'm crazy.

30 pounds!!!!! That's so amazing, I'm so happy for you!!! Homemade IP-friendly tacos ARE a treat. Mm mmmm! :)

My 2 kids have 4 legs. They both treated me the same as always - with love and affection. :D AND my cat behaved himself!

Drive by post as I have to pack for business trip to NY. At least I know which two pairs of pants I'll be taking -- the only two that fit! I don't have enough nice tops... mmm..

Anyway, WI #10 today and another 3.5 lbs gone. I'm 63% of my way to goal... only 18 to go. I'm SO happy!! Thanks to everyone here for all the great support.

Welcome to the newbies, hi to everyone... I promise I'll try to catch up later in the week when the madness settles down.

Day 29 today and feeling great. Celebrated mothers day at my campground this weekend and it was sooo fun! I even had a nice steak for dinner:) My new favorite veggie is grilled zucchini! I find I am addicted to it with a bit of Mrs. Dash Italian medley and salt, and to think that 30 days ago my addiction was hot wings and blue cheese dressing! I think tonight dinner will be grilled flounder and.... yep grilled zucchini! See ya later skinnies:):carrot:

I LOVE grilled zucchini! Through the winter when I'm not grilling I will broil or roast it with a little evoo and seasoning. Try broccoli this way too. It is so yummy!

Have a great trip, Dr. Pxlkitty. Congrats on your loss. Knock 'em dead while you're away!

OMG about your mother-in-law. Well, not in-law as I assume DBF means Dear BoyFriend? She should appreciate the vacation and everything else you've done for her. I have an out-law (ex mother-in-law) who was like that. We were always at her house and if we weren't, she was angry. My mother got extremely angry at that too and the fact that we were always at the out-laws house instead of hers. Thank God I'm divorced now and don't have to deal with that! Look, there is a perk in being divorced! :D

Oh and about your headaches- they will die off as soon as your body detoxes. My BF had a headache for 3-4 days straight when he started IP because of the caffeine in all the soda he used to drink. Depends on the person as to how long it takes for your body to rid itself of the toxins that are causing your headaches (and what they are).

I don't know why you feel neauseated though, that's not something I've encountered. Maybe someone can chime in on this?

On a separate note:
I just got my thyroid test back and my level is 0.02. A month ago it was 3.0. I'm taking Armour Thyroid and was told to cut it back but I thought 3.0 was a fine level so I didn't. Last test was 6.0 and the one a few months before that was 10.0! So this is the first time in 2-3 years that my level has been normal (since I started asking exactly what the levels were, not just dumbly believing the doctor when he/she said they were low. Been hypothyroid for 5 years now).

0.02 means my thyroid is working and the level is actually too high. But I feel totally normal and happy! I am thinking of seeing a naturopath instead of my current doctor. He doesn't really pay attention. I believe in treating my symptoms, not my lab tests. Anyone else out there with hypothyroidism feel the same way? Why is it so hard to get doctors to listen to our symptoms instead of relying whole-heartedly on lab results (which vary widely anyway). Last year when I did IP it did not help my thyroid levels at all (they didn't change), so I really don't think IP had anything to do with these levels.

Also, today my head is in the clouds and I forgot my sweater and my protein bar for lunch. I am freezing but luckily I had some protein powder here at work and I do have my salad. I also put my tea in my BF's bag and almost took his IP lunch this morning instead of mine! Woo I hope my brain returns to me at some point. I would forget it too if it weren't already inside my head. :D

Nausea can be caused when you're not used to having a meal at a certain time - mainly breakfast, and you have to force yourself to eat then because that's what the program requires. It goes away, too. :)
