Default Vanilla RTD Question

Hi! I tried the Vanilla RTD this week for the first time, and I like the flavor. However, even though I shook it really well, there is something floating in it that doesn't dissolve.

Can someone tell me what the solid stuff is and how to make it dissolve? Thank you so much!

I've run into this several times. At first, I didn't know what it was. Just shook it harder and drank it anyway. After the second one like that I called my coach and learned, the RTD drinks can coagulate if they get old or have been stored at a high temperature (a big part of my issue because they shipped in summer to Arizona). If that is the issue it looks kind of like clots of curdled milk. It won't taste bad, it just doesn't dissolve. Try to get your coach to exchange them.

If you are seeing something other than clotted appearance, definitely don't drink it! Return it.

In general, a fresh RTD is creamy, silky, smooth in appearance as it pours from the container and as it is mixed into tea or coffee.

This also happens if you over heat your RTD (say if you were trying to make a latte) Same thing happens with the cappuccino drink - only the heat threshold is lower in my opinion on the cappuccino than the RTD -- I also answered you on the daily thread just in case you are wondering why I am repeating myself (sign the diet is going to my brain - ha,ha,ha)

Thank y'all so much for your responses.

I think it might have gotten too hot or something because it's exactly like showgirl described. I'll talk to my coach and see if she can get me some different ones. I just drank it straight the other day, and the texture of those little coagulated things was pretty gross (I'm a texture freak).

Thanks so much again ladies!

Agreed. I think maybe you got an old batch (or a bad batch). I also buy them quite often and I've only come across one or two boxes that are like that.

What really gets to me are the "defective straws", which happen a lot. I am learning to carry extra straws just in case.

My straw always seems to fall into the drink, they don't make them long enough.

if she won't exchange them, toss it in the blender with some ice and make it into a smoothie, that will hide it

Definetely it's expired - I buy every week a pack I like it as breakfast, and never seen something solid floating, I don't even shake it a lot... check the date in your next purchase.

I am tempted to purchase these...but I am afraid that I won't like them, and they can't be exchanged, and well they are expensive! So how is the taste? Are they good???

I asked my coach about it today, and she said they might have gotten hot (she checks the date as soon as they come in). She said to bring them in and she'll switch them for me.

THanks for the advice!

Phall- they taste really good!
