Just had WI #2 yesterday and lost 4 lbs, for a total of 12 lbs. Also tried the omelette yesterday for the first time and I'm in love! Sauteed 2 cups zucchini, red, and green peppers in olive oil and then added omelette mix for a scrambled plate full of deliciousness. I've made it to the upper 150s for the first time in 3 years. (Even though the scale at my WI showed 160, my home scale was 159.2 in the a.m. Haven't seen that in a while!) I always got stuck at exactly 165, so I'm thrilled! Only 20 lbs to go.

Happy Saturday IPers! I'm so very excited to report that, as of today, I've lost 50 pounds on IP. I feel like I can somewhat touch my goal weight now and, without a doubt, these last 3 months have been SO worth it. I had my first "cheat" this week with a restricted bar binge and I have renewed tunnel vision to the end. Have a fabulous Easter weekend, everyone!!

Congrats!!!!! Amazing!! :carrot:

Well, it's been awhile. Everything is fantastic. If your new here, just stick with it. I'm feeling really good, I'm past the half way mark and down 67lbs since 12/29/10. I'm still trudging along towards goal!

I've posted some progress pic in my profile. Hey look....I'm down a few cup sizes in the hairy man boobs! Ha ha!

Okay, I had to stop back in here because I have a question. I've been getting my BMI tested, which shows percentage of fat/lean/weight/dehydration etc...,

I'm completely perplexed. My lean was staying steady for quite awhile. Then suddenly dropped 10pts in my lean and up a few pts in my fat? I mean within a week. I thought it was a problem with the machine, and it showed similar results this week. I seem to be in light ketosis.

My coach reached out to someone and they thought it could be a couple of things. I had a really bad week with a lot of hours at work. I was eating on protocol, consuming water, but big gaps between meals. Days were long hours, dinners at 10pm, lunches at 4pm, store bought foods as close to protocol as possible. I did drop 2lbs that week, but my eating and lifestyle pattern was way out of wack. It was the following week with the bizarre BMI readings. The other thing was is that I'm constantly dehydrated when I take those tests. It's hard to believe, because I'm drinking close to 90oz of water a day. I'm not perfect, but at least 64oz minimum. They said the dehydration could be taking lean from organs, etc..., I don't know, sounds weird. But I do notice my ketone sticks say light to trace ketosis.

Anyone heard of such a thing!

I haven't been in a while, so I don't know if this has been mentioned yet... sorry if it's a re-run, but I think it's important...

Beware the Crystal Light-like drink mix Great Value Naturally Sweetened Low Calorie Drink Mix, sold at Walmart... it's made with Stevia, but what you don't see on the front of the package is that it's mostly sweetened with cane syrup solids... SUGAR!!!.. :tantrum: Stevia is waaaaaaay down on the list...

I've been drinking it for about a month & didn't relate it to the awful carb-cravings I've been having 'til today... so, out it goes...

Off topic: hummingbirds are here!.. a male & a female black-chinned hummingbirds at the feeder at my house today... the fun begins!..

hugs

Nsv

NSV today: finally got on my bike today after many moons, and I found it much easier to pedal around town! I'm pretty sure it's not due to increased physical fitness because I'm following the IP guidelines of little exercise (actually, that's what I've always done and what helped me get to this stage, lol), so I'm guessing it's due to having to propel 40lbs less of lard ***! I was cruising on the higher gears which I never used unless I was going downhill. Yay me; yay IP!

Hi
I am new to IP and totally in-love!! I have been on the plan for 8 days, my official weigh in is Monday, due to the holidays. I weighed myself on my scale this morning, I just needed to see...I am down 11 pounds! So motivated now!
I am glad I found this site, reading everyone's post is so helpful and inspiring!
:D :D
Any tips or suggestions for a newbie would be great!!

We're having baby back ribs, grilled asparagus and zucchini and salad. I'm going to boil the ribs to get all of the fat off before they go on the grill. I'm going to put a dry rub on them tonight. No sugar! Sometimes I boil in Diet Dr. Pepper, My son swears by cooking in Dr. Pepper.

What are you having?

AprilH3 04-23-2011 06:15 PM

I'm making apricot ham, mashed potatoes, rolls and something else for my family. I'll be having plain ham and probably zucchini and a cucumber salad.

I managed to fill Easter eggs without even being tempted to eat the candy and my husband bought cookies yesterday and they haven't bothered me a bit.

I've decided that even if I think I need to lose more than my current goal I'm still going to go to phase 4 and then hit P90X hard and that ought to get me either the rest of the way weight-wise or size -wise to where I want. I know a girl that lost 30lbs just doing P90X. But frankly I wasn't motivated enough to do it. I'm so excited to have a plan!

Ok, just learned this "NSV" thing and thought, "hey, I have one of those!" Check this out:

I've been on cholesterol meds for a few years now and my wife would really like me to get healthy so that I can lower the dosage. Well, although I've been on cholesterol meds, my cholesterol is still high. So my Dr has been experimenting with different meds to see what works.

Flash forward to Dec 2010 when we changed to a new med to try and get my cholesterol under control; instead, I get a bad reaction that sent me to the hospital in an ambulance. That's when we decided to do IP the first monday of Jan 2011.

To make the looong story short, my new Dr (I had to change Dr because I changed insurance) did a blood test last month and (ready for this?), my blood work was normal --- with NO MEDICATION! I haven't been on any meds since the reaction and since IP.

Anyway. my wife was so excited, she cried :)

I know I don't share much, but I thought that's a good NSV to share. Thanks for reading.

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Back OP and I feel good. We aren't really doing anything special tomorrow. We are trying to get our weight down so it's better to not have temptations.

Tate 04-23-2011 06:54 PM

Good news! My MIL did not cook dinner. We ordered out so I ordered a grilled chicken salad (dressing on the side of course). I'm soooooo glad I got to eat real food instead of another shake because I'm really tired of being hungry all of the time and my willpower was at an all time low-if she would have cooked I prob would have said "screw it" and undone a months worth of work! Just have to hang in there at the buffet tomorrow. They usually have plenty of protein options so I just have to stay away from the dessert table! I DO intend to "splurge" in that I will let myself eat until I feel full. Getting tired of being on "empty" all the time!

NEWBIE 12 days today

This is a great website, and I'm glad to be a part of the Ideal Protein plan. I have a few concerns and questions tho...I have now become addicted to the scale, and I know that's not always the best. I have heard so many success stories on here, so here's my dilemma...I lost 6 pounds in the first week, and NOTHING in my second. I am discouraged at this result, and I haven't even cheated. Any suggestions?
Also, Walden Farms products...I purchased the peanut spread and it is disgusting! Any suggestions to make it taste better? How about the other products? Are they any good? I bought 4 salad dressings, mayonnaise, peanut spread and french onion dip. I'm afraid to try them now that I've tasted the peanut spread.
Anyways...Happy Easter everyone, and I look forward to some replies
