Good Morning!!

Had my first NSV yesterday when my neighbor walked by and told me "you look great." I said what do you mean, because I was off to the park with the dogs in my grungy clothes! She said you really look like you've lost some weight! I was so happy! I had to make some brownies for one of my bosses and didn't even taste them! Although, she said they were really good! LOL! Today I go for WI 3. I am hoping I'm getting there. The arthritis in my knees doesn't to seem to be as intense as before.

Hope everyone has a beautiful and victorious IP day!

Wow! I wish cleaning was one of my vices - never had that problem! LOL

I hear you about the shopping, though. It's getting fun again!

feeling a bit let down....

So I went out for dinner last night with my bff that I haven't seen since before I started IP. I was really hoping she would notice the weight loss.....and nothing! if she did notice she didn't comment (which she is the type of person who would). Gah I know I am doing this diet for myself and how I feel but it sure would be nice if other people noticed once in a while (sure helps with motivation). I have only had one person notice the weight loss who didn't know I was on IP:( I guess its just not as noticeable as I think it is...which is fine I still lost the weight thats all that matters and I'm sure the next 30 lbs will be much more noticeable but still just feeling a bit let down........

This is a BIG battle for me---honestly, until about 3 weeks ago I had at least a drink or two (or three) just about every nite---some people use food for comfort, I used booze. On my drive, I thought to myself...I know it will be fun for tonight, but how will I feel tomorrow....and at my weigh in on Thursday? I have been TOTALLY OP since I started almost 3 weeks ago----am I really ready to give that up???? Decided no....left off the booze. Rutabega "fries" are in the oven and I am going to have some pork roast since I haven't had dinner yet. Feelin pretty darn good about myself right now!!

Tate, that is an amazing victory! You deserve to be feeling really great about it. Way to go!!!

Hang in there! Only close family commented my first 30 lbs. Now that I'm over 40, my weight loss is the main topic of conversation among friends and co-workers. I personally didn't see a huge different from 30 to 40 but apparently there was. It does feel good for people to notice. Just keep rocking it and they will! Have a great Sat!!

Happy Saturday!

Congrats to all on their losses and a big 'hang in there' to those struggling.

I had my first WI yesterday, and lost 7.5 lbs and 14.5 inches (3 off my hips alone). I was really happy, especially since I had already had 2 liters of water and two meals, so I know it was a little higher. So far, I've been enjoying this diet, but I have always liked veggies.

I struggled a little this morning after hubby woke up a little cranky, so then I wanted to eat to comfort myself. I am so happy I was able to recognize it and not give in!

Adrean, Im sorry your friend disappointed you. I had the same thing happen recently, so I know how crushing it is to not get that affirmation from someone you thought would be able to give it. I had to work to shake it off.

One thing I've learned is that friends don't really see us the way we see ourselves, they don't notice on the days we think we look bad, and they probably don't notice when we're looking good - they just see 'us'. I haven't had anyone notice, and that just makes me so much more thankful for the support I get on 3FC!!

Hope you have a really great weekend! *hugs*

I'm doing a "dive by" for a quick update, since I haven't been around. But first, I want to  to my old friends and :welcome: all the new IP'ers!
It's been a trying last 2 weeks, since doing what I've always done, but losing about a pound a week, making me frustrated as all ****. I don't have a WI next as my coach will be in Boston. But after my last meeting with him, he gave me a tip that I have never read here on the blog, so I thought I would share. He told me to try giving up my evening cooked protein in exchange for another packet, so that is what I'm doing now. Don't know if it's working, because I've only been doing it for 2 nights, but I will stay on this new plan for 2 weeks. It really as simplify my life, not to mess around with the cooking every night. I believe he has a few more tricks up his sleeve, but he's not sharing with me yet. I just love my coach, he's awesome!

Also, I have been planning for my life away from IP, it has to come someday, right? I found some great low carb recipes at a website and I have ordered some BP2 peanut butter (powdered) in little packets, ohh they also make chocolate. I can't have it yet, but someday. So I'm gonna make cute little bags of it for my coach and all the girls that work in his office. I thought it would be a cute little thank you gift, when I start the phase off process.

Well back to the rafters for me. Have a great OP Day!!!

Let me know the results you get from the new plan you are doing for 2 weeks. I loss my last 4-5 pounds at the rate of 1/2 pound a week. Made it pretty frustrating since I had already been on Ip for about 7 months. I finally made it and moved on. I am glad I held out and went below my goal because I did gain a little in glucose. You will get there.

It really is true. Men genuinely WANT to please---they just don't know what we want. They are not mind readers and they DO NOT remember things even if you have told them "just last week". They need lots of hugs and kisses and to be told things like, "Honey, I know you love me and want me to be happy- and I want you to be happy, too. Could you help me out by putting your post-shower towel on the rack instead of the floor? Thanks!!" Then, the VERY first time you notice he has done it go to him and say 'Hey--I saw the towel was on the rack---I know it seems like such a small thing, but I think it was very thoughtful, because you knew it would make me happy---thanks so much!!!". Lather. rinse.repeat. My husband and I have been married for almost 19 years. Using this method has worked out beautifully for me---he does just about everything I ask or need now, because he loves me and it makes him feel good to make me feel good. It is reciprocal BTW--I try to do the same for him.

It is understandable that you would feel let down, but sometimes (as was already mentioned) friends don't "see" us that way. Also, some people don't comment because they don't want you to feel like you looked "bad" before. In addition, some folks think that weight has nothing to do with beauty and therefore would not comment. The last thing is maybe she is jealous or, if she is already thin, doesn't want you to be thinner (there are people who like having a "fat friend" to make them feel good about being thin. Just my 2 cents----I am sure along the way you will have LOADS of people comment---hang in there, dear!! :D

Welcome to all the newbies! Congratulations on taking this step. Hang in there! It works!

Congrats on all of the losses! What a great feeling! I am cheering for you all!

I am near the end of week 3 and hanging in very well. I am surprised. It was a very stressful week with the passing of my Father-in-law on Tuesday. I spent the week home with my husband. While the kids were in school, we went shopping for clothes for the whole family to wear to the memorial next weekend. I found some great deals! I managed to bring packets along to eat "on the road"... it was my one restricted per day, but better than fast food for sure!

I bought a beautiful, form fitting dress, with some slimwear for underneath and a great new necklace and earrings. I also got my hair fixed up: I even got full bangs for the first time in forever (on my hairdresser's suggestion). I feel 10 years younger! The look in my husband's face made me feel amazing (when he saw the dress, then when he saw the hair)! I can't wait to put it all together. Too bad it is not for a happier occasion. I found some beautiful clothes for my kids too. I am so proud.

I am also managing my first TOM on IP. The first day was rough as I was eyeing all kinds of forbidden treats and seriously wanting some but my will power is better than I thought! This diet rocks for giving me that! I've never had as much will power before.

Yesterday was my first day that was not 100% OP but I think I managed it okay and I don't think the damage was too bad. My husband wanted to have lunch out with me before I got back to work. So, breakfast was an IP packet, lunch was steak and shrimp with vegetables at a Japanese place (I took soya sauce instead of the Teryaki sauce and didn't have any rice or noodles). We had supper at MIL's (Mother-in-Law's) house: BBQ'ed pork and vegetables (mix and asparagus but she put margarine on them... not much I could do about that). I stuck to water to drink and had a tea after dinner (unsweetened, no milk). I had an IP snack. Hopefully, this wasn't too bad.

I plan to be 100% OP with no restricted today.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Congrats on staying so strong through all you've been dealing with. And this "cheat" you talk about, considering everything, I think you're gonna be just fine :)
