Morning everyone! Just a quick, drive by post for now as I have a beautiful newborn coming into the studio for her first photos this morning (best job EVER!).

It's Friday morning which is WI morning for me and I just got home. I'm THRILLED to announce that week #6 weigh in shows another 5.4 lbs. gone forever!! For a grand total of 30.2 lbs. and 20.8 inches total in 6 weeks!! :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:
It's hard to believe how many things have changed for me in 6 weeks but I feel amazing and I hope the newbies to the group will stick it out long enough to realize that this DOES work and it's a great feeling ;)

Anywho, thanks for letting me share, will catch up later on!:hug::hug:

Losing the weight, not the bad habits?

So I'm doing great on this program. I've lost 26.6 pounds in 2 months and have basically never cheated. I can actually visualize my goal weight in my head. The problem is that I've noticed that I've started taking an inventory of all the "bad foods" that I want to eat when this journey is over. This makes me panic because I do not want to gain this weight back.

Do any of you have these "bad thoughts"? I have a history of eating disorders and I'm afraid I will go on a major binge once this is all over with.

From what I know, when you're "finished" with IP (or as I prefer saying it, the Phase 4 maintenance for life), they encourage us to have a cheat day once a week. BUT, the catch is, you have to do Phase 1 the next day (just that day). This way, your pancreas gets a break, but your taste buds got what they wanted.

Tomorrow is my 14th day on IP, and honey, I've got my first cheat day meal plan allllll set up, and it's MONTHS away. Rofl. I think you're ok!! Just keep in mind, 1 time a week at the most, you're ALLOWED to eat what you want. This way you haven't, well, sold your soul to vegetables lol. And also keep in mind that you'll feel like total crap the next day!

awwww you are a sweetie--but don't get used to it----once I am back in the office next week, there is NO WAY I can keep up!!! It'll be mostly drive-bys!! Sorry!!

Good Friday everyone, it is great to hear all the NSV's and SVs

Last night was wi #7 and I lost 2.5 lbs, for a grand total of 29.5, I was hoping to top 30 lbs but there is always next week and so far have lost 15.5 inches. I had a great night, I ran home and took the dogs for a VERY slushy walk, our off leash was a big puddle, which means it is melting. but and this is a big BUT... my one dog is a puddle hopper... she will go and lay down in every puddle she can find. I thought last night she finally grew out of it, but on the last stretch of walk ONE big puddle and she promptly dropped her ball in the middle and laid right down. She is named Rebel for a reason. then home for supper and then off to practice agility with Rebel, my other poor gentle Jewel is now too old to do agility so she gets to come along and visit everyone and get treats from them.

so many things to comment on... will try to make this brief.
MOM24 - Welcome and this is a great website if you ever need help or just want to vent.

Treena - I LUV Peanutbutter, I would cook with it all the time have even made some peanut butter meatballs. I have to stop and get the peanut butter syrup when I get home. chocolate pudding with a little of that for sure will taste like a peanut butter cup.

Photogirl- wow 30lbs in six weeks great work. I also love taking photos unfortuantely am not a pro. I would love to be paid for something as fun as taking pictures.

MayKat - Pizza, that was my friday night thing, I would make a pizza and then have it for the rest of the weekend... now it is fish and turnip fries so much healthier but I miss my peanut (see peanut butter again) thai pizza and my BBQ chicken pizza...

reinergirl - Turnip fries, in the past the only way I could get them crispy is bake them until they were really brown and then leave them until they got cold. I am going to do what I think Maggie suggested and leave them sit with salt on them then rinse them off and pat them dry and try tonight. I will let you know how it turned out. apparently you can do radishes that way too? hmmm radish chips...

LNinCT - I am in Awe 40 lbs in 11 weeks, how great is that.

Tate- Muffin Tops, I have found that is what is missing from my body now is my muffin top, I don't know if that is where I am losing the most as my coach only measures chest, waist, hips and thighs but it is gone and even with slightly tight, smaller size pants it isn't there. I have looked behind and thought maybe it was added to my butt but can't tell for sure. LOL

last but not least
Cajunbumble - bad thoughts, if I am not dreaming about food in my sleep and how I am cheating; I am thinking down the road when once more I can have Baskin Robins peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, pizza and sweet potato fries and fried pickles... of course not in that order.

Congrats everyone on this week accomplishments. keep up the good work.

Today is my first WI! I'm excited and trying not to set my expectations too high.

Last night was sleepless night number three. My poor little guy is teething, it's so hard to see him in such pain.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning

Today is my first full day on IPD. I started yesterday at noon officially (I had eggs for breakfast).

Yesterday I had cream of chicken and broccoli for lunch, dinner was a 5 ounce sirloin and grilled asparagus. I use to hate asparagus, but after forcing myself to keep trying to eat it I actually almost like it now. My snack was ice cream style dark chocolate pudding-I had trouble eating it...wasn't hungry.

This morning I am having the fine herb and cheese omelet. This is my favorite food so far! Have any of you microwaved the omelet to cook it? I travel a lot for work and would love to be able to bring this along and have it for breakfast.

Today I think my challenge will be getting enough water.

Last night I was at target getting a pill holder and saw a cute basket that was designed to hold photos. Its the perfect size for a week's worth of IPD packets!

On a different note, why did the weather think it was funny to snow down here near Philadelphia? Worst April Fools joke ever!

yes I microwave the omelet all the time.
for the water, there is some new MiO water enhancers out that are allowed on plan. You don't need very much to give the water a little flavor.

Treena 04-01-2011 12:03 PM

May be a silly question, but I never heard of MiO until the past couple days, from this site. What exactly is it, and where can I get this amazing IP-acceptable stuff that will make water taste better?

It is a flavored liquid you add a squirt to your water. I picked a couple flavors up at walmart last night. haven't tried it yet.

Walmart. Great! I needed to stop by there anyway, so I'll take a look. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! The issue isn't just that I get tired of drinking water (though that has gotten better in the last year or so I've noticed) but that fact that I just plain old don't drink enough. See, when I swam in high school and college I couldn't drink anything while I was swimming or I would throw up. So I basically trained myself to ignore my thirst signals. I've gotten better, but I have to actively think about my drinking to get it done still.

I got a water bottle that is 20 ounces, so I am trying to finish 1 between breakfast and lunch, 1 between lunch and dinner, and 1 between dinner and 9pm (no water after 9) plus a glass of water at each meal.

I found some Truvia drink mix that is raspberry lemonade and lemonade that I might try also since I don't drink coffee/tea (although I have some nice fruity herbal tea from Teavanna that I almost like) and have it at breakfast.

hi cajun! i think you will find that all the things that you want now will no longer be appetizing by the time you can eat them. i was making a mental list of all the things that i want to eat when i finally can, and i find that as time passes, some of those things don't sound good anymore at all. i also think that even if they do sound good when the time comes, they won't taste as good as you remember. i like to think that sweets will be too sweet, and breads and other carbs will be too heavy.

Beachbella 04-01-2011 01:32 PM

Happy Friday everyone! I hope no one has been fooled so far on April Fools Day. I just got back from my WI and I am down -3 lbs this week. My total inches so far is 35.5 inches since January.

Looking forward to reading how everyone did today so far.

Enjoy your day!

So many people have told me this before, and I long for the day when that happens!! I'm not miserably longing for carbs like I was the first 3 or 4 days, but I still miss them, and pancakes with real-sugar syrup, cinnamon raisin toast, and anything with lots of peanut butter, are all in my "future cheat day" plan lol.

All of you IP-experienced and IP-veterans are so inspirational, thanks for the hope you give me!!
