Smile Hey Ontario buddy

Hey Stacy,

How did the last weigh-in go? I have weigh-in #6 tomorrow after work. It'll be the first time doing it late in the day and hope I'm not disappointed. I usually go on my way to work in the mornings but guess I can handle it this time....

I tried the big mac in a bowl tonight and everyone was right, it's quite good. I'm anxious to start trying a few different recipes as I sometimes get comfortable when something is working.....

Just wanted to add my kudos to all the great successes this week and a note of encouragement to all the ones just starting. I promise, it does get better and the best thing is that you usually see one of the biggest weight losses that first week which is a huge gift at the end of that first long week.....

Love reading the posts, the recipes and just about everything here.

Hugs,

Mary

Had 3 great wins today:
1. Didn't have to stretch my shirt out to have it fit across my belly!
2. Without even realizing it, i moved up a notch on my belt
3. Someone told me today my face looked skinnier

and I'm only 2.5 weeks in.

Hey Mary! Last weigh in went great, was down another 4! I would have been happy with 2 because I was really hoping to get past the 20 lb lost total this week and I beat it by 2, I was thrilled!
Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. I would drink lots of water especially in the morning and hopefully you'll pee it all out by time you WI LOL. Can you hold off on dinner until the WI? Please come back and let us know tomorrow

Hey all, just a quick question...I LOVED the new found energy I had in week 2 and 3 after that dreaded week 1...now in the middle of week 5, I feel like I'm dragging my butt a bit again. I know the pain in my back isn't helping anything but I don't think that's the only reason. Anyone else experience this around this time during the program?

Thumbs down Cleanse?

I've read a few posts about not liking the cleanse and there's been several in this thread, if I remember right (correct me if I'm wrong...I've read so many tonight). I guess I don't understand the dread and bad vibes toward it. I'm just finishing my first week on it and it's been a lot gentler cleanse than some I've done. I actually asked for my coach to order it in because I knew that my liver was compromised already and something had to give. Plus, knowing I'd put the first week's worth of toxins in my body (where it released the first 8 lbs) I knew I needed to get rid of those extra toxins. My cleanse is for 14 days...is it that different here in Ontario? I don't understand the reasoning behind 23 days, it's usually by the week or month. I've also found the liquid to drink with it is one of the best tasting cleanses I've tasted....and I've tasted quite a few.

If someone hasn't done a cleanse before, maybe they don't understand the whole principle behind a cleanse...but it's going to make you feel not as good as before because it's ridding the body of toxins. And if you don't drink enough extra water with it, it will definitely make you feel worse. Not sure I agree with having to do one every 20 lbs.....on average, that would be once a month and that's a lot for any cleanse.

I'm not questioning anyone's experience with it, I'm just trying to understand why there's so many bad feelings toward it. Call me Ms Inquisitive...

Hugs,

Mary

Just got back from my WI and I pleased to announce that I lost 4 pounds and 7.5 inches. 3 inches were from my waist!

Wink Pain & lethargy

Hi Stacy,

I've not had the same underlying energy I felt the last week or so as well. I'm also fighting a reoccurance of epstein barr virus and another usually dormant virus that have worn me out and it was nice to have at least an underlying current of energy instead of the crushing fatigue I'd had.

Is the pain in your back a result of the program? I've complained to my chiropractor about the aching from my neck to my tailbone and my back being a lot more tender & aching the last 2 weeks. He couldn't find anything to cause it and wondered if there were toxins possibly collected around joints, etc. that needed flushing. He's the one who's providing the program and is an amazing guy who'd love to be able to enable the world to withstand the bad things in life.

Just curious but like you, hope it passes soon. Don't know about you, but I get somewhat envious when I read of all the others talking about their new found energy and feeling so much better.....and I'm still waiting for mine to appear....LOL

Hugs,

Mary

Did your doctor ever tell you that? Like so many, she's gained a ton of weight and it continues to creep up no matter what she does.....but she's very concerned about the soy in the products. I'd love to know if you had similar warnings or worries before starting. I've been looking for something positive I can offer her to reassure her this is definitely the best thing for her. I know it has been for me and I've struggled to lose a pound in almost 10 years!

Thanks in advance for the response,

Hi Mary,

I know this question wasn't directed to me, but I take thyroid medication after a bout with viral thyroiditis several years ago. My MD has never told me not to eat soy while on thyroid medication. The chiropractor who did my initial Ideal Protein intake knew I was on thyroid medication and only told me to take my thyroid meds at least 2 hours before any supplements. I was very successful with Ideal Protein. I'm not saying that your friend should not listen to her doctor. I'm just saying that Ideal Protein worked perfectly for me!

No, the back pain isn't a result of the program as it started about 2 weeks before I started IP. I do personally think it has EVERYTHING to do with the broken tailbone I experienced when I was in a car accident and pregnant with my son.....it's so low but radiates upward to my lower back. Because the car accident was 7 years ago, I don't remember exactly if this is the kind of pain I was experiencing back then while I was still recovering. But xrays have showed nothing and I'm waiting for blood work to come back as I've also had some weird bruising in my legs (which we think was attributed to me taking Robaxical in error instead of Robaxicet for the back pain (the Robaxical is aspirin based and once I stopped it, the bruises went away).
ANYWHO, hopefully I'll get the back pain figured out soon, as for the lack of energy, I wonder now if it's because TOM is coming too...who knows. I just know I really liked the spike of energy I had in week 2 and 3 and wanted to keep that up LOL.
Thanks

I'm there with you, my weigh in #5 is tomorrow, rescheduled from Monday. This last week i seem to run out of energy at around 4 pm. I've actually grabbed a quick nap to get through it the last 2 days.

Congratulations to all with SV and NSV's today!!! Funny I just got done cleaning out only part of my closet and I have 4 plus bags all ready for the goodwill.

Also had to visit the goodwill this past weekend as the one and only pair of dress pants I had 12's were falling off ....found 3 nice pair of 10's and they are not even close to being tight, I hope I'm not in them long. Don't even remember a time I was in 8's....

I feel exactly the same way!!!! The last 2 weeks no energy, I thought it was just me getting tired of this dreary winter maybe one of the more experienced IP'ers can give us some insight....I know my coach won't be any help so I wont even bother to ask.
