Question Eggs

just have a question. i can't find if this has been answered before, and if it has i am sorry for reposting. but on the Ideal protein are you allowed to have as many egg whites as you want? and would they be counted as your daily protein? i am craving eggs but i don't want them to count towards my meats. thanks so much for helping me out with my question.

Egg Whites still have calories and sometimes carbs (depending what source you check). I would often add an egg white or 2 to the pancakes in the AM to give myself something a little more filling. I would not go hog-wild with them though, but I don't think 1-2 a day will hurt.

Short answer, no. But here's the reason. As Sheila says, egg whites have nutritional count, but not much. (And like her, I always add an egg white to the omelet, pancake mix, and the crepes; sometimes a whole egg because most of the nutrition is in the yolk.)

Nutritional value of one egg white: Kcal, 17; protein, 3.6; fat, .06; carbs, .24; sugar, .23; mag, 4; k, 54; sodium 55. Most IP sources recommend that you have up to 2 egg whites if you're hungry. Two added to soup or the above, will not affect you much at all.
