Let me add my two cents, not to be a contrarian, but to add a little depth to what's been said? I was told to take levothyroid 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before eating with a full glass of water. Since soy diminishes the effect of thyroid medicine, don't have it for your first meal of the day. That pretty much leaves you with a strawberry packet for breakfast. I was also told that calcium, within 6 hours of taking the medicine, either negates or diminishes the effect, depending on how closely they are taken. And then there are the goitrogenic vegetables -- never eat them raw. Hope this helps.
