What is everyone's experience with coffee? Yes or no? I have about 5 cups a week (one per day about 5 days of the week). I measure out 1 oz of fat free half and half (as instructed by my coach). Do you think it slows down the weight loss?
I have continued to drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day. I just increase my water by the number of cups of coffee I drink. I have continued to lose weight. I could not do without my coffee in the morning!

I am no expert, so check with your coach, but my understanding of the limiting of coffee/tea/caffeine is that it is very acidic on your body. Your body works best in a slightly alkaline state, so you end up having to drink even more water to counteract the acidic effect. I personally don't think it slows down the loss but please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong.
How your body responds to coffee will depend on the individual. Coffee can be an issue for some people and not for others depending upon physiologic status (ie: degree of insulin resistance/sensitivity).
I drink 1-2 cups of coffee everyday. I add flavoured sweetner and half & half (or milk). My weight loss has not stalled. My morning coffee makes me very happy. If my weight loss would go faster without it, I still would not give it up. It keeps me sane, which allows me to stick to the plan for the long haul.
I love my coffee and drink at least two mugs each morning. I add about a tsp of regular half and half to each mug full.
You would not like me if you took away my coffee, I might bite!
I drink 2 to 3 cups a day too. Either black or make a mocha with the choc pudding and extracts. I don't think I could function without it and I don't think it has slowed me down at all.
I put a little splenda packet ''french vanilla'' or ''halzenut'', and 2 little creamer of 2% milk in the first one, and the second one I drink it black.. I don't think this is slowing me down and I don't think I could be able to live without it!!
Also, for those of you that use alternative products, I've bought a protein powder in Shoppers Drug Marts (Canada, Quebec), that is like an expresso, vanilla flavour, really thick and creamy. 20 g proteins, 5 grams carbs.

I drank 2 cups of coffee my entire time on IP and had no problems. However, I also upped my water by two cups to compensate for the diuretic effect of the caffeine. I would skip the fat-free half and half, nasty stuff in there. Instead switch to skim milk. You probably won't think it's too great at first, but you'll get use to it. Also, Davinci syrups and wonderful additions if you like sweetened coffee. They are sweetened with Spenda and come in a variety of flavors. Better yet, take a cup of coffee and mix with a warmed (not boiled) chocolate or vanilla shake for your breakfast. Very cappuccino-like and yummy! My coach also suggested using a vanilla RTD shake in place of creamer.
The carton says 3 carbs per serving....is that alot. Otherwise I follow the boot-camp IP....I only have one cup of coffee 4-5 days a week...
I think it's a lot. I try to stay under 25 -27 real carbs a day, which includes carbs from 3 IP packets, 4 C of vegetables and 5 C of romaine. To do this I've had to cut out milk in my tea -- something I've never done in my life. Stacey's suggestion are good ones, I think.

I have always used skim milk but my coach says it has too many carbs and too much sugar (1 cup has 12 grams). I don't like sweetener. I think I will just have one cup a week on Sundays. Thanks everyone.
