Hi I started the IP challenge on 9/3, and so far I've lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. The thing is that I am still the same size. I feel the same way I wonder if this is supossed to be this way or not, and how much time did it took you to drop at least 1 size in jeans.
i generally find about 14-18 lbs per size, but it all depends where u carry your weight and how your loosing weight etc. But it will change, try and think about how amazing it is that youhave lost that amount of weight, and you should be so pleased with that. Its frustrating but gotta stay positive
well done
I generally I used to change a size every 15 pounds. HOWEVER on IP, I didn't change sizes very quickly when I first started, especially in pants. I lost most of my initial weight in my arms, shoulders, ribs/back, waist, belly and lower legs. That meant pants were gaping at the waist and loose on the lower leg but I couldn't really change size until my thighs and fanny shifted! I was in the same pants size from November to January then changed pants sizes about every 2 to 3 weeks.
Interestingly when I got far enough into the program, I was losing pants sizes every 8 pounds. I went from a size 12 to a full size 8 but only lost 15 pounds total during that change. BUT, that is the time frame my thighs and hips shrank the most in inches.
I think it just depends on where you see the pounds and inches coming off.

Thanx Carla, I do see some diference in my face, arms and back, but the thighs, and hips I think are the same, which I didn't realize it until I tried on a size 11 in jeans and did not fit I am a size 12-13). I also have to keep in mind that the fat around my tighs are do to my pregnancies, because I was a size 10, 6 years ago before having my 2 kids and weighed the same as now., Carla tanx so much you always make a lot of sense. Sometimes I just want to go for a tmmy tuck or something to fix my wide hips and thighs.
At about the 6-8 week point I really started to need new pants and just a little before that I my tops were rather loose. When I finally started dropping pant sizes, it went pretty quick. I've now gone down 3 sizes in 12 weeks.
I started a tight 18 and now I am a 14/13 depending on the pant. Some are too tight on my legs... I wish my legs would catch up wiht my waist and hips!! I have been on IP since June 14.
I'm just now getting into a smaller size. Started out a tight 18. I've lost 29 lbs and am now a 16 in most things...some 16s are tight, others are loose. I have a couple size 18 skirts I'm still wearing, although they're getting a little droopy. I have a pair of size 16 jeans that are zippable, but too tight to wear. Right now, they are my new goal...I'm guessing another 7 lbs to be able to wear them out of the house.
Ive lost 28 pounds and am still not down a full pants size.. for me, the weight and inches are falling off my back, face, arms and thighs.. my tummy, and tooshie are alittle slow to catch up.. however, they will!
I started out in 16s, and two weeks ago I went down to a 12. I bought a pair of jeans at a resale shop then (and they were just a tad bit tight) and I put them on today and they're too big and baggy!
It seems that I am also right in that range where every 10-15 lbs is a new size. I started at IP in size 20-22 and after 9 weeks and 43 lbs I am wearing 16s comfortably, I can get 14s on and up, but they are too tight when zipped (if I can zip them.) My arms and legs dropped the most at first, now it is time my waist catches up.

This just goes to show you how every body is different. I am in 16s at 217 and Amylew was in 16s in the 170s. Sizes are not why I am here, yes, it is nice to drop sizes and see those numbers fall, but keep up the good work, stick to the program, and it will all fall into place.

Your welcome! And, if you figure out how to fix those hips and thighs, Let ME know! LOL.. I have always had larger hips and thighs. Part of it is I have a strong lower body with lots of muscle but, I would so very much like to be longer and leaner. I am trying to do workouts focused on helping with that change.

That tooshie catching up seems to be the issue for so many.

We really are so different!!
I was just noticing you are about 5'7, I am 5'5, and and Amy is 5'1. I was in a size 16 at 215 pounds so, more similar to you. I is amazing what the loss of inches does. It is like that Garfield comic, "I am not overweight. I am under tall!"
I can't remember who shared recently but because she is tiny, around 5'1 or 5'2 if I remember right, she was able to change sizes every 10 pounds. It also was more apparent on her as she lost weight. And, I know Erin and Svelting commented that because they are on the tall end of the spectrum, those weight losses were less obvious in the beginning.

That has to be true because it was only until recently that people starting noticing my weight loss. At first I was confused and thought to myself, how can they not see it, I've lost 20, 30, 40lbs. But, then as I thought about it, I realized that the weight, like you said in an ealier post, drops from all over our bodies, not just our face or waist or bottom. My face, arms, neck, thighs, chest, waist, ankles, hands and feet have shrunk and it seems pretty proportionately (although I wish my waist would move faster.)
Well, you wish for your waist, and I'll wish for my thighs and maybe we'll both get what we want!
I started out as a 14/16 and XLarge in shirts, and am now a 6/8 and a medium or small in shirts...and it really didn't happen early on in the process. Like others, I lost a ton of weight in my upper body before losing anything in other places.
I started a tight 18 and now I am a 14/13 depending on the pant. Some are too tight on my legs... I wish my legs would catch up wiht my waist and hips!! I have been on IP since June 14.
Hi, It looks like we have the same weigh and we meassure the same too. I am also a size 13-14 depending on the pants too. I went to rave today and tried on some skinny jeans and got mad, because even though they were size 13 they just didn't fit, I cant wait to get rid of this chuby tighs and hips, just to be able to wear the clothes I love.
