Today is Day #2 on IP, and I'm happy to say things are great so far.
I'm pre-diabetic and my coach is having me use 5 IP foods a day for the first 3 days, so I got to try a variety of foods yesterday. My favorites so far are the pina coloda drink and the butterscotch pudding - YUM.
I noticed something with my blood sugar yesterday that has never happened before (think this is good....). Before yesterday, anytime my blood sugar dropped to the 5's, I didn't feel good and could feel the shakes that I get with low blood sugar. Yesterday though, I felt great and wanted to test it just to see what results would be after lunch and supper and I got the lowest results I have ever seen for myself after a meal - 4.2 and 5.7 respectively. That's ..... on the lower end of the normal range. Wonder if anybody else has noticed something similar?
Love hate relationship with my scale. Intended to get out the hammer this morning and break the silly thing to bits but I had finally lost a pound so I should have kissed it instead. Leaving soon and am wondering how I will survive without a daily weigh in for 10 days. Yes I know this is an unhealthy relationship/dependancy. But I do have a very addictive personality-- my name is Tricia and I am addicted to my bathroom scale.

Good Morning! I had the same rough day yesterday as I'm Svelting!( after reading her yesterday post) and Tricia, I weigh myself daily (first thing in the morning and even before bed- hey I'm getting my money's worth from this new scale!!)
I'm down another 1.5 .. yes I am a member of Kelsey's slow loser club....(I am so amazed when I read people who weigh much less than myself have greater weekly losses) I just wanna get to ONEDERLAND!!!
Good Monday to all! I survived my first weekend on IP! We usually have friends over and sit on our deck and sip cocktails on Saturday nights. Not this weekend. I didn't want to be tempted. Maybe once I've been on this diet for a while, I will be able to handle the deck with friends having an alcoholic drink and me not. I also had a guy friend who asked about the diet and after telling him about it, he said you'll gain it back. More reason for me not to now! Wednesday will be my first week weigh in. Looking forward to it!
PINKY Yes people with diabetes have found a difference with their blood sugars with this eating plan. Keep up the great job!!!
HOPEFULTRISHA & COASTALCRAFER I too have a love/hate relationship with my scale 1st thing in the am (after going potty) and sad to say last think at night. Oh well it was good to me this morning
IOWAHAWKEYEMOM Congrats on making it through your 1st weekend on IP....remember the best way is ONE DAY AT A TIME, you will be surprised how the weeks fly by. YOU CAN DO THIS
To all the other Chicks hope you have a great Monday and a terrific week with IP!!!!

We had another busy weekend! My daughter had her first cross-country meet on Saturday at which we saw my husband's aunt & uncle. They invited us to their house for brunch - they had homemade choc chip waffles, eggs, toast, bacon, hash browns, fruit & Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I had a glass of water.
Yesterday, the family held a reception for my husband's brother and his new wife. My MIL had fixed enough food for an army, but was so kind in having "special" foods for me. We made two huge pans of lasagna to take, but I didn't even sample a morsel. At the dinner, I had steamed vegetables, salad, raw vegetables, tomatoes and a very small helping of lean pork. And was full and comfortable. I also got lots of compliments, which helped me avoid the delicious looking truffles!!
So, all in all, I had a good IP weekend - my scales said 203 this morning!! I'm almost to ONE-derland!!
is it just me or is it getting confusing now to have more than one daily chat open? Shouldn't we close the one from say Saturday before starting on Sunday? I see 3 open now and wondering "where to go , where to go!" So many fun options! LOL

I had my Naturopath do a full on Saliva test that tells you about balances and levels of all the minerals and such in your system... some times that alone throws you off and, from what I have heard, that is not something that necessarily shows up on blood work. See our bodies are very smart machines that KNOW that their main goal is to keep our "oil" clean (aka blood) so it will be the last place to fail. From what I understand you start seeing the deficiencies and imbalances in the saliva way before the blood, which makes it better to prevent further stuff. Just a thought ;-)
Well, I had 8 people for breakfast today. I won't go into detail, but my breakfasts are pretty awesome. I was kinda tempted to take a taste then the cat came up on the porch flipping around a mouse. That pretty much squelched the moment. Thanks Princess!!!! Luckily the guests were already gone!!!
