I read somewhere on this board that somebody cooked their egg in a cup in the microwave to make it fit the English muffin perfectly (I am of similar OCD tendencies). HOWEVER, when I tried this, piercing the yolk carefully with a knife first, the egg STILL exploded. I'd put a paper towel on top of the cup and it was blown clear off. Put the egg on for 2 minutes on high and it exploded after 30 seconds. Mess mess mess. What did I do wrong?

Good Morning, all!
I'm svelting - Thanks for the wonderful synopsis! I love it! I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and my breakfast soup. I can't take anything sweet in the morning, so the IP soups are my meals of choice. Very satisfying! It looks like another beautiful day today - I may even go for a walk! Quote:

NO SOY? Then what???
Okay, so I was so excited to go into the kitchen and start packing away all of the items with SOY in them. However, when it was all said and done I had packed away EVERYTHING! My RTD drinks, hot chocolate packets, bars, crunchy packets etc. What now? :?:
Does anyone have Linden's phone number? ;) I know it's the middle of the night in Hawaii, but I need to call her and find out what she's eating that doesn't include soy. :dizzy: |

Good morning! A new week.. : ) welcome newbies! Congrats on ALL the losses !!
Just a thought ...I was thinking of scheduling my weigh ins every other week, there's more support and info on this board than I get at our IP store. Yes I call it a store where they sell IP products, and weigh you, it's not a clinic, there are no medical people there. any suggestions? |
Good morning and Happy Sunday to all!! Cleaned out my closet yesterday.....a 3 hour ordeal but it is done. Only on IP for shy of 2 weeks and already having to get rid of the size 14's and 12's. The 10's are comfy and looking forward to the 8's!!! The worst thing is, so many of the clothing item I cleared out were brand new.......tags and all!! Oh well, guess it is consignment stores and so forth for me. Who can afford new clothes???
Welcome to all the new comers, you are worth every moment and you are stronger than you have let yourself think you are!! Realizing that we are worthy of loving OURSELVES for who we are not what we look like or what we weigh is so very important. Go to the mirror smile at yourself and know you are worth every moment on the program because you are WORTH IT!!! |

I found this online-
To calculate how long it will take to reach a weight goal starting from a given weight, on a diet that restricts the calories you eat to some number fewer than you burn every day, first subtract the weight goal from the starting weight to get the number of pounds you need to lose. Multiplying by 3500 obtains the total number of calories you need to burn from fat to reduce your weight by the desired amount. Now divide by the daily calorie shortfall anticipated in your diet plan. The result will be the number of days it should take to lose the weight. You can divide the number of days by 7 to get weeks, or by 30 for time in months. |
Hi Everyone!
Just catching up on the boards. Congrats on all the losses and welcome to the newcomers. My heart goes out those of you that had a rough week. There are ups & downs with IP and life, of course. I view it as another opportunity to grow and change my old behaviours around stress, negative emotions, adversity and the like. You women are so strong, I have no doubt you will overcome any obstacles in your way! Quote:

Yikes! All this debate about soy and I've just found out about yummy soy nuts. I've been adding some (less than 1/4 cup) to my salads for the crunch and eating a handful here and there for a snack. No negative side effects that I can see so far, but I will be on the lookout.
Glad to see all the newbies and all the losses! It's always so inspiring to come on this forum and see all the positive changes that everyone is making. Enjoy your Sunday! :) |

Hi. I am new to this site and very glad to find it. This is day 4 for me and it has been a struggle. I feel good and I am not really hungry but I spend most of my day in the bathroom! Anyone else have this problem. Also really struggling with eating all the vegetables. Don't really like them! I eat more lettuce than anything. Why so many veggies???? All of you inspire me.
|
Your mother said "Eat your vegetables. They're good for you."

Didn't your mama tell you to eat your veggies and that they were good for you? That reason wasn't good enough for you? ;) The vegetables are a source of good, low-sugar, high-fiber carbohydrates. You'll feel more full having the veggies and the lettuce. Vegetables contain vitamins and minerals in a natural, digestible form. The fiber in the vegetables keeps some of us moving, or regular. Eating only protein sources can be quite constipating. Sorry, love, to be on this program you'll have to make peace with the veggies. |

It's been in use in France for 25 years with elite athletes. I'm not sure when they started the program for weight loss for non-athletes in France. We all like to look good and have fun shopping for clothes that make us feel and look FAB.U.LOUS. Those health results, however, are what matter most. Thanks for reminding us of the big picture. Kelley Dear I'm Svelting, Thank you so much for the information. Now I understand why this program is not that well known here in the U.S. I am convinced it is the best! I love hearing about all the successes. It is a huge motivator. Many heartfelt thanks, janedocmom is online now Report Post Edit/Delete Message |

How many carbs?
Hi All,
I'm on my 2nd day of IP, hard day, I'm really hungry, ate lunch to early! Two questions: 1. About how many carbs a day are we getting in phase 1 of IP. 2. Are tofu and low carb vegie meats an OK substitute for the 5 oz. of meat at dinner? I'm mostly vegetarian and don't think I can handle eating meat every day. ;) Thanks! MJ |
The vegetables.....find one or two that you like and eat them. I pretty much eat cucumbers everday. Love them. I also like to put colored peppers, onions and tomatoes on my salad. Since some are restricted I just use a few each day. Check out the recipes for using rhubarb. Hasn't been talked about in a while, but it is an allowed veggie. Mine is still producing, but don't know about other areas. I do have broc and caul a couple times a week. Don't like it much, but I just suck it up and eat it anyway.
Soon to be.....love your pic. You are glowing!!! I think we should plan a girl's trip to Hawaii. I want to meet you guys and what better way to do it. Look out Linden....here we come!!!!! |

Dear President Kelsey, You nailed it! What doesn't have soy? In my case, nothing I had in the house and I'm still waiting for non-soy packets to arrive from Maui. Here they are -- and most are higher in carbs than puddings, etc. Strawberry pudding 100 calories 1 carb/0 sugar/0 fiber Raspberry Jelly 100 2/0/0 Blueberry. . . . 95 2/.3/.2 UHT Vanilla Drink 100 3/0/1 UHT Chocolate Drink 100 4/0/1 Orange Drink (blech!) 100 4/0/0 Pink Lemonade 90 4/0/1 Cappuccino 108 5/1/1 Peach Mango 100 5/0/1 Chocolate Drink 120 7/0/3 Yogurt 100 14/0/1 Sea Salt Vinegar 160 14/1/2 What I've done is eat my dinner for breakfast and bought some whey powder to tide me over; and gained 4 pounds. Perhaps you should look elsewhere for an example. So, Christmas in Berlin? Snow, lovely street fairs, mulled wine, snow? And welcome all you newbies. What a great adventure! PS: My Skype number is in my profile. However I was otherwise occupied at 3:48 this morning. |

My daughter is away this weekend, so the hubby took me out for breakfast which is a rare treat since he works crazy hours in the summer as a chef. I am on Phase I and would like to know if this means I cheated?? I had an egg white omlette with spinach and mushrooms and tea, then had the Peach Mango as a midmorning snack. I then had lunch like normal and plan to have my dinner and snack tonight.
I really didn't want to disappoint him. He is a chef and is very rare to have a Sunday together without the darling daughter. Thanks for the input! |
