Is anyone else finding that their nails break or splinter really easily? What are you doing to help? My nails usually are pretty thin, but they seem to just keep breaking and splitting.

Not surprised as your whole system is going through a major overhaul.

Try using Nailtek II... it is a nail protein treatment. Hopefully that helps

I take a hair, skin, nail supplement by michaels. I did have but, I don't now have a problem with the nails.

Mine were pretty bad because of my thyroid anyway. I take biotin and it works wonders for my nails.

Biotin...that is what is in the usual hair, skin, nail supplement. You can go to any local Wal-Mart, Target or any drug store.

Pregnancy Vitamins help. As does Essie Millionails.

I have been getting OPI Axxium manicures. The color protects my nails and does not chip off. You have to see a professional to have it done as it is actually a thicker polish (gel lacquer) and needs soaked off every few weeks and redone.

Maybe its different for guys but my nails are growing at an alarming rate...like I have to trim them daily rather than once a week since I started IP.

I noticed the same problem. My nails would just split and became very thin. Recently, I started taking a "healthy hair, skin and nails" formula with biotin. My nails are getting much stronger and not splitting. I was also hoping not go through the "hair falling out" thing that some people have reported here.

I haven't noticed any change in my nails, for what it's worth.

Thanks for all the ideas. I think I like the OPI manicure one the best but I'm not sure I can make it happen very often. Next time I make it to Wal-Mart I'll look for some of those supplements.

My nails seem to have reacted oppositely as well. I have to trim them every 3 days rather than every 2 weeks.
