As far as the boost of energy some people were mentioning, I don't have it either. I feel awake a bit easier than I used to, but definitely no boost of energy, in fact a lot of days I feel like I'm in a fog. That bothers me, my mood and energy are both down. Not exactly what Dr Tran says in his book. It says more energy and something like thinking more clearly/sharply. I thought maybe mine was to do with still getting up with my littlest once a night, but maybe not. Also was thinking maybe I should cut out the coffee altogether and see if it helps.

Oh I can't wait til I get a tracker and Dancing Veggies!!!!!

ok one thing I've noticed about myself since started IP...since I am not stuffing down emotions with carbs, I feel more sensitive.. weepy/angry..I am usually always Joyful.. I just hope it's only the hormones in the fat cells that will be leaving me eventually!!

Not to worry it will pass, your body is making major changes right now and carbs give you a feel good factor so cutting those down is like taking away a good friend, just takes time for your body to adjust. Sometimes I even need to have some of the higher carb packs as I generally stay away from them, well that has been my experience anyway.

To make you smile

Oh, SO glad I'm not the only one! I'm on day 10, and I've felt less energetic, too! And I agree--- more sensitive, although I didn't realize that until it was said!

Dumb question time... but since I read the boards, I just have to know!

DH?? (dear hubby??)
NSV?? (this one has me stumped)

Thanks!

Went to my cardiologist today (just to check bp), and was proud to be down 14 lbs from when I was there 3 1/2 weeks ago for regular check-up. Cool!!

is it easy to fall out of ketosis? I am really stressing and feeling guilty about almost everything I eat at supper....I had steak for supper and it was a bit bigger than the deck of cards it should be...am I crazy? When people drop out of ketosis is it because they ate too many carbs? over ate protein? had sugar?

Not sure about the DH. (I'm still relatively new as well)
NSV= Non- Scale Victory (i.e. new size in pants, shirts, etc. or anything else that's a victory because of the weight loss.

Keep up the good work!

Ok- I had to share this one....

I work with kids and we all know that they can say the funniest and sweetest things. One of my kids has a hard time saying some of her speech sounds so everything she says turns out uber cute (It's my job to take away her cuteness and replace it with normal speech. The perils of being a speech therapist). Today she told me, "Miss Tristen (Kristen), you're pretty and wittle (little) lite (like) a tup (cup) of toffee (coffee) from Sarbuts (Starbucks)."

Extra protein will not pull you out of ketosis. Only carbs/sugar/massive amounts of fat can do that.

I've never had the boost either. I do know that I am sleeping better and am able to get out of bed a lot easier in the morning.

Stay on plan and you shouldn't fall out of ketosis. To much steak will not throw you out because it has little carbs, but the extra fat and calories will slow your weight loss. Yes, too many carbs will throw you out of ketosis, having sugar is having mega carbs. Stay under 40 carbs/day and you should be fine. If you need a food tracker you can go to fitday.com. It's a good way to track exactly what you're eating so you don't need to stress over it.

Oh, and how about throwing into the formula the money you save on prescription meds, doctor visits and medical care for diseases and health problems related to your weight! I think we may all be saving money in the long run!!
