Lisa - you seemed to feel good on day 4? I went to bed thinking I would feel better on day 4 and I honestly feel awful! I could crawl back into bed - again! - I woke up at 6 and went back to bed until 8:15! Granted, it's been a busy week but I'm thinking I shouldn't feel this wiped out? Is this a normal step to ketosis?

When I started the diet my fourth day was my worst. I cried most of the day and my husband almost banned me from continuing!! The clinic had told us that sometimes when women start losing their belly fat that their body sees it as a hormone rush and then we know what happens! Hang in there because it does get better. Typically they say most people take three days to burn off the glycogen and then can go into ketosis, but some people just take a little longer.

lkreutz - thanks for sharing! I think I relatively breezed through the first 3 days and this is the day I get to pay up. I'm so glad I found this forum to hear that others are going through the same!

I find it so interesting how our bodies all react in a similar yet different ways! The first 3 days were awful for me! Day 4 was a little better and day 5 was a little better than 4. I do have to say that I am still having occasional headaches and feeling a bit emotional still. Between the changes my body is going through, my husband traveling, and taking care of our two children...I am happy then sad - energetic then exhausted! I'm ready to feel good all of the time!!

Hang in there!! We will do it together!

I thought about the 3 days to burn off glycogen and then about how my diet was mostly carbs before this so it will probably take me a week or more! I'm not any more emotional - at least that I can tell. Ok, maybe I was a little grouchy the past few days.

I never would have started this without my husband and MIL here to help with the kids. You are brave!!!

I'm in - I don't want to go back to my snack happy ways. Great to have company!
