WagJag (toronto) has a offer: $10 for $20 worth of products from low carb canada. It should be available for the next two days as long as it doesn't sell out.

Unhappy FED EX rip off

Hey ladies if you buy from Nashua Nutritions don't use the new FED EX way...
my duties and taxes came to 2.93 and then they charged me 10.00 for an "advancement fee" and GST on top of that. send it by regular post it is cheaper even though it takes a little longer....

I did order some stuff from Nashua N. but found it easier to order from Proteinwell as there is no shipping cost if you order $100 worth. Plus I like the protidiet stuff better than the stuff I ordered from NN. But the downside was I had to order the whole $100 woth.
I hadn't checked the label carefully the first time I ordered from protienwell but I'm sure it came from Quebec.
This time I was shocked to see it came from not that far from my office on 50th ST! If I didn't order the $100 worth the shipping was quite a bit, and it was shipped from a location I drive by 2to 3 times a week.

2Ride, I don't know if you noticed my comment in yesterday's daily thread but that new picture is incredible, you look fantastic!
This time I was shocked to notice it

Hey Everyone,
To make a long story short my husband was just laid off so I'm thinking of switching to alternatives as the cost of IP doesnt fit into my budget too well now. Is anyone from the Red Deer area and buys products there? I dont want to buy offline as 9/10 packages get returned to the sender thanks to rural post office. We have costco and walmart- what products do you buy that are close to IP? My current IP clinic is over an hour drive for me as well which is getting to be a bit much. Any help would be great

There likely is a DR B clinic in Red Deer? Their things are vey similiar to IP and only cost as much as the altenatives.

I am in rural Alberta too and have no trouble getting products from proteinwell.ca delivered at the post office. The problem is when the sender insists upon using a courier service like FedEX. I have this problem buying computer stuff.
At Costco I buy Premier Protein ready made drinks, detour bars, simply bars.
At Walmart I get OH Yeah bars, if they have the small ones in, these are called Grab and Go bars.
I also don't have any problem getting things at the post office from lowcarbcanada.ca but it is harder to fiqure out what to order on that site.

One last question! Did any of you start on IP food then switch to alternatives
? If so how did your weight loss change/ stay the same? Did you find it hard to stay accountable?

Hey bilster!
I like your moniker

Yup, I started on IP and switched to 90% alternatives, just using up what I have left. My losses have slowed, but they seem to be in line with where I should be.

I am now losing around 1.5lbs/week, my overall average being 2.9lbs/week. But I have just (sigh) 14 left to lose, so was expecting it to slow down.

I use the Premier Nutrition drinks from Costco as well, buy a couple boxes!! 18 for $27 in Medicine Hat and same bars as mentioned above. Plus Quest bars if you can find them and Isofemme, I have found at Shoppers and Walmart. But the Oh Yeah, small bars, are like a real chocolate bar IMO.

If you do want to try the Quest bars, I order them by the box from the US and can get you some, just PM me...they work out to $2.45 a bar with everything....WAY cheaper than IP.

Good luck

Yes I totally switched after a month at the clinic. I used mostly protidiet and protithin products and my losses were they same. I far prefer doing it on my own because I found the expectation that I had to be down 2-3 pounds at an exact time every week extremely stressful because that just wasn't going to happen at my age and because my regular daily eating plan was already very low carb long before IP.

Someone posted that they had found the Questbars at Popeye supplements. That was in Ontario I didn't look in Alberta.
I really liked the Quest bars because they are so high in fibre.

Popeyes does have them (in Calgary any way ). Or you can always buy them online from them too.
