Does anyone buy their products from a site called "Doctors Best Weight Loss"? After starting up agian, that is where I get mine, after you order one time you also get a discount if you buy over a certain amount. So far the best price that I have found.

I just received my order from DBWL today. They do have a good selection. It took a bit more than 2 weeks for my order to arrive here in Ontario, Canada...and I unfortunately got dinged by Canadian Customs as well, adding about $30 to the cost. It's still resulted in a 'per packet' cost that was much less expensive than the IP products though. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to set aside some of the things I bought, as I'm now realizing some of the puddings, etc. have too many carbs and sugar. :( I just don't want to risk it. I thought I was being careful and comparing everything I bought via the nutrition information I had for the 'approximately equivalent' IP product, but I messed up on a few things. They're going back into the box and getting shoved into the back of a closet for the foreseeable future. One thing also has the sugar alcohol maltitol in it ... which I now realize gives me the *runs*...I've learned the hard way that I don't need to worry about the Big C when I eat something that has maltitol in it. I've learned a few things since I put in this order a couple of weeks ago, and would have revised it if I was doing it over. Oh well... at least I'll really enjoy the soups I bought (hopefully - I'll test one tomorrow at lunch) and the blueberry pancakes. :carrot:

Huge Help!

Lunch is Proti-Thin Cream of Vegetable soup or Proti-Diet Pea soup to which I add 1 cup of chopped steamed zucchini and a bag of miracle noodles in fettucine style. This is similar to a fettucine alfredo every day. Add green salad with cucumber and celery and WF dressing. Sometimes I add 2 oz of protein to the lunch and subtract from that from dinner portion.

Snack is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% whey portein powder in Double Rich Chocolate flavor. I buy it at GNC,, often on sale, cost is $.75/serving. I add a c of fresh spinach and ice cubes, vanilla extract or vanilla or chocolate flavored stevia and whirl in the ninja chopper. I drink some of it and split the remainder between 2 sm pyrex cups and put them in the freezer. I have one of these mid afternoon, one at bedtime.

Dinner is protein, unrestricted veggies, always a salad with WF dressing.

Cost per week is around $35. I use www.nashuanutrition.com. There are others. I have to buy some of the walden farms products over the internet so for that I use www.netrition.com. For flavored liquid stevias and Miracle Noodles, I use www.iherb.com.

Hope that helps. It's not hard to do this diet inexpensively and still get great results.

I did IP using only IP products in 2010. Now back to IP and using 80% alternatives, 20% IP and my weight loss is identical.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I have been in maintenance for a month now. Lost 30 lbs during my first go at it. Was thrilled with the results. Still have 20 more lbs I want to lose but just needed a little break. For those still in Phase 1, the maintenance phase does work. My weight maintains within 3-4 lbs. I'm getting ready to go back on to lose the other 20! My mom is going to do it with me but can't afford to do IP so I'm looking into the alternatives for her. This will help us immensely! :)

I did find that you had to really look at the bid picture of it all. I went with mostly drinks, that's what I like any ways. Havn't tried soups from them. But I did find that their snacks have more fiber in them than IP so Carbs are lower which is nice. It's nice for me to get more fiber.

Is this protein bar acceptable on Phase 1?

http://shop.doctorsbestweightloss.co...-Bar-SSPRB.htm

There is a protein bar that I've bought from Doctor's Best Weight Loss and I was wondering if it was acceptable as a restriced item on IP? It has 160 Cal. (45 cals. from fat), 5g fat, 3 g fiber, 10 suger, 2g Suger Alcohol, 10 g Protein, 21g Carbohydrates.

The ingredient lists is: Soy Protein Nuggets (Soy Protein Isolate, Tapioca Starch, Salt), Corn Syrup, Peanuts, Rolled Oats, Pretzels (Enriched Wheat Flour [Wheat Starch, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid], Salt, Vegetable Oil [Corn, Canola, Cottonseed and/or Soybean], Corn Syrup, Sodium Bicarbonate, Yeast), Invert Evaporated Cane Juice, Peanut Butter (Peanuts), Fructose, Sugar, Honey, Natural Flavor, Glycerine, Whey Protein Isolate (From Milk), Oligofructose, Soy Protein Isolate, Maltodextrin, Oat Fiber, Gum Arabic, Salt, Soy Lecithin, Caramel Color, Tocopherols (To Protect Flavor), Soybean Oil.

I have purchased some products from this site and by-and-large am very happy with the food. Stay away from the Cream of Chicken soup. It does not mix well and comes out "gummy." Not at all good. The bars are good. So are the pancake and oatmeal mixs. Thanks for any insight you can give me concerning the bars.

10 grams of protein is a little on the low side. Most bars are right at 15. If you are on the program, protein is a major factor. The calories and fat seem right. The carbs and sugars a little more than the average for the bars, but they will go hand-in-hand. Just my thoughts and comparison to others, including IP bars.

I started using egg beaters early in my IP program. Has just a few less grams of protein. But a fraction of the cost. I season it with Land-o-Lakes powdered cheese, and Mrs Dash Tomato Basil. Tastes like the herb and cheese omelet.

Okay I either have to quit IP or go on alternatives because of a loss of income. I am NOT quitting so I am going to do alternatives. I already have a few bottles of Women's one a day and so I don't have many vitamins to get. I am going to get the EAS RTD drinks and have those twice a day (I do that now with IP) and I have a bar for lunch (I am a creature of habit!) I am looking at the pure protein (basically don't want to start ordering online right now). If there are good bars, cheap, I will do online. I am just too nervous to get like the pro-thin ones because I am sure I would manage to screw it up! I LOVE the chocolate peanut butter bar from IP. A lot of the bars (like the smore's one) has 19 carbs. Is that still okay? The bar I have now is 16, but the drinks are 4. The EAS are 2 for the ones I want, so that makes up 4 carbs. I don't know if I have the will power to do half a bar. Any help would be gladly appreciated. I have been reading for hours but I think I am more loss than when I started. I go for my appt on Tuesday and will let her know then.

Thanks ya'll!!

Hi,
I was on IP exclusively for 3 months and then I gave up my coach and switched to alternatives four weeks ago. I read all the posts on the alternative threads, but did not get too exacting about the carbs, more about making sure the protein was at least 15 grams. One thing, I do not eat restricteds every day, maybe 3-4 times a week is all. My losses may have even improved a bit over the last month from being exclusively on IP.

I guess, I'm sort of casual about this as I just don't want to stress over the program since I will be on it quite a few more months (I have more than my share of stress on my job during the week.) I'm losing and I've found a system that works for me.

All I can suggest is try different things, keep track of what you're trying and adjust if you see a problem with your losses.

Hope that helps some.
Molly

Product update:

ProtiDiet Chocolate shake mix is very good! It is not quite as good as IP chocolate drink (powder) but it is an excellent alternative. I got it at Nashua.

I used the Detour bars quite a bit with no problem. I just checked the three types of IP bars in my cupboard. They each have 6 or 7 grams of sugar in them.

Anybody ever tried Dixie Cup O Spaghetti? or Dixie Cup O Chili? They are a soy-based alternative meat product. Found some decent reviews online so decided to order a few today. They're a freeze-dried product that you add water to and microwave for a few minutes, let stand for a while, and eat. I'll alternate one or two a week into my lunch selections. They are a bit pricey at $4.29 each, but I thought it was worth it for a change of pace over the next few weeks. Ordered from LowCarbCanada.com
