Hello,

That is kind of high in protein comparing to IP products which are usually between 15 to 20g of protein per serving, so you might want to take half the quantity for one serving.

Hello,

Here are the IP sheets that lets you know exactly what to take and compare with what you have.

OK, So I just read all 22 pages this morning :-) :dizzy:

That was a lot of info at once. So what I am reading is all the Proti-thin product are comparable to the IP products. Is this correct? I am talking item to item. I should be able to use the Proti-thin oatmeal instead of the IP oatmeal etc??? :?:

This would sure help me out a lot. I am quite a ways from my IP coach and I have to take time off work (with no pay) to go see her. That makes the IP diet even more expensive for me. I can't keep paying the price too much longer.

I am finishing up week 2 this week-end and am down 6 lbs but am feeling pretty constipated :o Is there something I can do to help this? Use just any old laxative??

I am wanting to drop 50 lbs by July if I can.

I am so happy that I found 3FC!!! :carrot:

Honestly if you're that far away from your coach you might be able to register with idealtogo.com They'll mail you the IP products, and you can talk with your coach via E-Mail. I just got signed up with them because we're moving and not going to be near an IP clinic but I've been really impressed.

I do like the proti-thin products for alternatives. I have been using their cappuccino and I love their restricted selection. When using alternatives though you have to be really careful to compare the nutritional information of that specific product to the general IP nutrition information. Also, check the ingredients for aspartame. Hope this helps!

I use miralax most every day in my first cup of coffee. I have always had problems with constipation and my doctor said it was fine to use this every day if I needed to.

Survalia 01-29-2012 12:16 PM

I use the ProtiDiet products, for the most part. I can get almost 3 weeks worth for about the same as what IP was costing me. Breakfast is a rotation of either the blueberry pancake topped with WF blueberry spread, apple cinnamon oatmeal, sometimes with zuchinni "apple" pieces and a bit of WF caramel sauce, the honey nut cereal or a 2 egg+one egg white omelet. Lunch is mostly soup -- I rotate the chicken, mushroom and tomato basil. Usually I add roasted blended veggies to make it nice and thick, or sometimes I have sliced cucumbers, red peppers and mushrooms. Dinner is pretty standard and snack is almost always a bar. My new favorite is ProtiDiet Lemon Meringue. I do not eat a lot of lettuce because I have no problems with the Big C--in fact often times the opposite. Works for me.

KarinF 01-29-2012 01:07 PM

Thanks for the input. I have one week of IP food left but it isn't setting with me very well (Big C) so I might try the Proti-Diet foods and see if there is a difference. It is a lot cheaper and I won't have to do the required coach visits. That is a big issue for me because I have to take time off work and drive out of my way to go see them. I will look at the IP to go and see what it is.

Thanks again for the input :-)

I too am looking for an alternative to IP because we are on a VERY tight budget. My doctor wants me to lose 50-60 lbs. before my pre-diabetes becomes full blown type 2:( I am VERY impressed with the results I've seen in other people on IP and how they've lost a LOT in a short amount of time. Is there anything written out step by step as far as an alternative plan???

Hello,

No there is no step by step program for using alternatives, the principle is to follow the IP protocol by using alternative products that are similar nutrition wise to the IP products, I've always said it is kinda like using Advil vs the no name cheaper ibuprofene brand..

All you have to do is print the phase 1 sheet, the IP nutritional info sheet and the supplements sheet, to make it easier on you, if you send me a private message with your private email, I can send you all of them in a couple of days, unfortunately, I am not able to send them now since i don't have an internet connection at home and I am using my phone now.

If you don't want to give your personal email, I can attach them for you in here on this thread.

Sandra,

Apparently because I'm new to the forum I can't send PM's:( I would love the information you listed above. Also, why did you switch from alternative back to IP??

I didn't! I am very happy and comfortable using alternatives. What gave you the impression that I switched back? There is no ways I would since money is tight and the real IP products cost triple if not quadruple the price.
