p.s. Anything that tastes as blah as the host, can't be bad for you! I can't speak for everyone, but I bet the majority of us on this board can't wait to hear about your DH's reaction when he sees you. Also, besides being proud of you, I for one am proud of him and what he is doing for all of US!!! |

Also, Chelle, you gave me great advice. I did spit out the few tastes I had while in Napa but most of the time, I just watched my husband drink. Recently someone talked about vacation with their sisters and pushing food on them. I really did that with my husband. I couldn't have the wine or dessert or whatever, so I enjoyed watching him have it. Kind of funny-- living vicariously through someone else I guess. |

Better with someone you love. Be careful, push too hard and he may have to join us on IP!!! |

You Can Do It!

Oh jen, my heart goes out to you, I know how you feel, because I have dabbled in at home businesses in the past when I was on atkins in the past and I know that it is NOT that the food is just there but that there is a pressure for You to eat the goodies that the hostess has prepared and is usually very proud of and its usually the CREAM OF THE CROP. So, I would think, you might now, be feeling very guilty and down on yourself and feeling defeated and like youve ruined everything, BUT you haven't, you have actually just gone through a character building experience. NOW all you have to do is realize what you have to do to ensure you have a better more successful business AND diet experience at your next shows. Like for one, If you are dieing to try something- Go ahead and get the recipe - especially if people are giving excellent feed back- DO NOT give yourself the excuse that you needed to try it to see if you needed to add it to your reciipes! Also, if you are getting alot of pressure from the hostess, tell her your full but BEG HER to make you a take home tray of all the tasty treats and BRING THEM HOME TO YOUR TWINS YAY!! and hopefully that will fend her off and create happy babies- if the hostess will not stop--- you can always say you are allergic to something in the tasty treats (if you are absolutely desperate- and they are being pushy- it always worked for me) I do not like lying AT ALL but I also do not appreciate being pressured to do something against my will- so I see it as self preservation. And Remember EAT BEFORE YOU GO! DO NOT GO HUNGRY! AND JUST IN CASE- bring an extra packet and a can of diet rite or something you can have to not feel deprived. You need to be PREPARED! Have your IP FIRST AID KIT because you are going into battle and you don't want any wounds or casualities! But remember- the more successes and victories you have the more confident you will get and the easier it will be and before you know it you will not have any problems at all with your home business problems. Just remember to put the past behind you, make a plan to be succsessful the next time around (how you are going to do things differently), and prepare, prepare, prepare! AND YOU WILL DO FINE I KNOW IT! YOU ARE A STRONG MOTHER OF TWIN BOYS! YOU CAN DO THIS! NO PINWHEELS WILL KEEP YOU DOWN!! |

Lots of weight loss, NSVs and great advice. 3FC is a good place to be. Thanks everyone. |
Hi everyone! I just had one of my close friends come over for dinner and we had such a great time! Usually we drink wine together, but I just bought some wine for her and let her drink it without me. Also I sent her home with the bottle so I wouldn't be tempted. But I did "cheat" a little- I had too many veggies! But some of them were cucumbers, celery, and spinach so I'm not too worried. I was making our salads and of course I have at least 6 types of veggies in the fridge all chopped up, ready to eat. My friend and I have the same taste and she reminded me how much I absolutely LOVE vegetables! So we just kept adding things to our salads and it was so delicious. I savored every bite. She totally understood about the low/no carb diet right away. Actually she didn't think it was strange at all. We had a really enjoyable dinner! :D Also my bf roasted some cauliflower and broccoli with cayenne pepper and whew! Was it ever hot! So delicious! I hope you all have a good night!
Good night MuayThaiGoddess. I talked with my friend about carbs releasing serotonin and she said- "Oh! Of course carbs make us feel good! No wonder!" BevS - Thanks for the feedback about the Lindora products. I appreciate it! :D |
New on IP and looking for support
I started the IP diet 10 days ago and I have to say it has been BEYOND rough. I have even cried due to being hungry or not being able to be normal (in my opinion)
I caved last night and actually had a little bit of REAL salad dressing (hate the Walden Farms stuff...too sweet for me) and today 3 lbs up! It is so frustrating. Today the HUGE hunger pain again and my fiance and I just said forget it and went out to eat. I am starting strict again tomorrow but has anyone else experienced this? I have issues with Veggies... I gag... the only thing I can eat is Cucumbers with salt. I am also what is called a Fast Oxidizer so my thing is not carbs...honestly cold care less about those... but I need my fats or I starve! Veggies go right through me... I've been having 4+ bathroom visits a day and it is all greens completely undigested. suggestions? help? |
if you can't even get down veggies then this diet probably isn't for you. if carbs aren't the problem, then it's definitely not for you! i think you maybe should go to your doc and maybe find something else that will fit your lifestyle better. it's too expensive to bounce back and forth every day you know? if it's upsetting you, you're not going to be able to stick with it. so what's the point? i hope you find something that works for ya! :)

Congrats to everyone and welcome to all the newbies.
Birman....What a great brother. I would be hinting if I didn't already have a Wii and if he(my brother) knew I was on a diet. Chaplain's Wifey....you need to have someone video when DH gets home...we all want to see the look on his face. I do hope it is somewhere private, tho, cause I'm gonna bet it won't take him long to jump your bones!!! Had my outing with friends today. Took my vinegar and salt crisps to eat while almost everyone else had buttered popcorn. Really didn't bother me. We went to see Shutter Island.....hated it. Went to a local restaurant after and had a fajita salad with no dressing. There was some shredded cheese, but I just didn't worry about it. There were 2 of us celebrating birthdays over the next 2 days, so you could have a free drink or dessert. I got this really sinful looking chocolate thing and the girls split it. Didn't bother me at all cause I don't like chocolate. (we've already decided I'm weird) But, had a great time with the girls. We are going to have spring for 2 days then back to our typical weather, so I plan on getting some sun. Hope everyone has a great week. |
Ugh... people= things have not been going so well, in fact my coach and my doctor are seriously considering taking me off of ideal protein because of all of my horrible adverse reactions to it- they really don't like the way I am reacting to it, and I don't want to get off I JUST WANT TO FEEL BETTER!! I am terminally exhausted- like I am getting the flu or something- i've been too tired to write or reply to messages- and its been getting worse from day 1- I am so irritible, foul, cursing like a sailor, depressed, I have lost my sense of humor, enthusiasm, WHERE IS MY PERSONALITY MY PATIENCE- well specifically alotted for my son... my gusto--- eeoifhwaifmjikajwhfiujgkleejrngfioua I'm pissed--- and as usual feel like the "Dr. House" case because, this is lookin more and mmore like clinical depression and thats just not cool. I begged my coach to let me stay on it at least through 4 weeks and then we can see how I'm doing then and she said okay--- so i really hope I am doing better. does anyone have any suggestions on some one I should call? do you think the IP rep or company would be a good idea because my coach has no idea what to do....
SPARKLES!!!!!!! I OWE YOU A LONG LAVISH REPLY AND I FEEL SO GUILTY I HAVEN'T WRITTEN BACK YET! I keep trying to but My pentium brain has three processors shut down and is just running on one... I am just not doing well at all!! But your post BRIGHTENED MY day for sure. and it was so lovely to have someone else complaining and being grouchy and moody some- it made me happy! haha-- also when you used the word ravenous- i knew we were sisters from another mother- no one ever uses that word- NO ONE except me and my mom- we actually had a discussion about it like a week ago isn't that funny. I WILL write you tomorrow. I promise. and quickly- YES i do think you should be eating the phase 3 fruits and vegetables, and I have my reasons why. Stop fearing food, you are giving it too much power. You got a little disordered eating... just don't give the food more power than it deserves and stick to the plan and you have nothing to worry about ( HA- EASIER SAID THAN DONE!) Write you tomorrow!! |

I would almost think the Atkins diet might work better for you. It isn't so restrictive on the fats. You will have to be able to do veggies for this diet to work. I feel bad for you. Honestly, I have had real hunger pangs, maybe twice while on this diet. I think most on the board would agree that they really aren't hungry very much. |

I am so excited to hear what your husband has to say when he sees you! That has to be such motivation to keep working to surprise him!!!!!! Love hearing about this stuff! My husband keeps telling me he can tell, but it's a little discouraging for me cause I haven't even lost a pants size :( I know I will though, I just have to keep going.... |
