I was sure I'd have to call them again. I am a highly-functional single woman who can fix toilets and garbage disposals! Woot!

Good for you, CinnamonSparkles! I used to be that way -- a highly functional single woman who could fix stuff. I once even bought some power tools and installed flooring in my attic all by myself. Then... I got married. My husband can fix absolutely anything. (He is a technician at a sub-atomic particle physics lab.) And... he enjoys doing it -- especially if he feels like he is helping me. When we were first dating he used to come to my condo and go around searching for stuff to fix. I would tell him that's not what I had him for. Wasn't his job. However, 23 years later I'm used to him fixing everything, and have totally forgotten how to do stuff myself. Is nice to be so spoiled, but a shame that I have lost that capability. (Could regain it I suppose, but am admittedly too lazy.) Anyways, glad to hear that you have it. Keep yours up! :)

Cinammonsparkles - now this is impressive. I am all for women who run the world. Funny you should mention the garbage disposal. I just bought a little round mesh drain for mine today so water can run through but silverware can't!!! It's so very clever. But not as clever as YOU, who fixed her own disposal. you go girl.:stars: I think Stacerp, you and I need to hear from others on the cranky topic. I'm hoping when you do this diet long term it goes away. Am I dreaming??? it's so annoying to be so annoyed...

Just a quick response to those talking about the total carbs in some of the restricted foods. The bars I've had so far which are the Caramel Nut, the Cookies and Cream and the White Chocolate Cinnamon have all had 15-17g carbs in them, and the last one has no fiber. Not sure about the others because I've already thrown out those boxes.

Also, called IP today and they gave me the # to my area's rep. he did clear up that my coachs are directing me incorrectly. Only 3 IP's a day including the restricted item and eating the eggs or extra packets should be avoided "unless its that or a pint of ice cream" So I wonder how badly this misinformation has set me back :(

I'm not so sure that it is "misinformation", Jen. Perhaps it's just a different way of doing things. If you read this board for a while you will see that there is considerable variation between coach recommendations.

Personally (as I've posted several times in other threads) when on the IP diet I wouldn't touch those 17g carb bars with a 10 foot pole! However, others here eat them all the time, and their diet works just fine. Also personally, I wouldn't worry in the least about eating an extra egg or a packet if you are feeling hungry. A bit more protein is not going to throw your diet off. (Whereas too much carbs will.)

So I'll reply to your post tomorrow! Sorry its taken me so long!

Ahh. It's pretty obvious that you like to write (vs. me who HATES to write) so I had wondered why you hadn't responded. :) Don't ya just hate it when the computer loses things? I've had that before. Argh!

I need help!

Here I am, at the airport, suddenly realizing that I left the food I made for the 7 hour flight at home. I already ate my protein for the day, and all they have here is $10 salad. I found one with just egg, ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce (chef salad). I didn't get dressing. How much trouble would I be in if I ate the entire salad?

It usually isn't a problem, but I also haven't eaten my full 4 cups of veges today. There is NOTHING here. the bar and grill already told me they wouldn't sell me just steamed veges...

I would get rid of the egg yolk and the cheese, keep the white, ham and tomato. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the quick response :)

It was making me anxious just looking at it

I sit here reading about the bars and chili and other meals and think "Man, my coach still has me on Bootcamp!" I haven't been able to try any of those meals including the crisps and puffs, but I am also a little nervous to try them. I don't want anything to hinder my progress. I go in for my week 3 weigh in on Wednesday, so they might offer me more selections, but I think I will stick with Bootcamp for a full 6 weeks and then see.

I had a great NSV today. Went to the store to return a Size 14 suit that was too big and bought a Size 12 outfit for Easter :carrot: I tried it on for my boys and they were shocked at how much my body is changing. They are so supportive:) The only place my husband seems to notice is in my bust. He is in mourning!!!!!

I hope all who are struggling with depression and general bad moods can pull themselves out of it. Just know we are all in this together and we are all here for each other. Here's to smaller bodies, better health and better attitudes!!

So lets see. Do any of you sell stuff by home parties? You know like tupperware, party lite, etc? Well, I do. I sell jewelry and if none of you sell, I'm sure you've at least been to parties right? Well, these parties are KILLING ME! My hostesses make tons of food and then get offended when I don't eat it. Now I had been doing alright at my parties so far since starting the diet. Most of my hostesses were cool about it, although a little pushy to get me to eat. I hadn't really cheated at them either. I had one party where she had made something I had never heard of before so I tried 1 little bite and it was no big deal. Well today I went with my sister, who just joined my team, to her first party. The hostess was one of my sister's good friends whom I had only met a couple of times. She made these little crescent roll pinwheel sandwiches I had never seen before, and since I do a lot of parties myself wanted to try one to see if I wanted to add it to my party recipe collection. I figured 1 little sandwich would be fine, I mean they are no bigger then a cookie. OMG I couldn't stop eating the darn things. I had 9 of them :( Honestly what is my problem this week. Its like the satan of fatness has possessed me and is destroying all my efforts for the last 5 weeks!! I have completely fallen off the wagon with this one and was then ran over by it!

So tell me, because I have 6 more parties coming up, and one meeting. If anyone has a home party business, how on earth are you getting thru them on this diet???

That is so great to hear!

I am on week 7 and I still haven't dropped any pant sizes... my weight loss is coming off from top to bottom, and it has been stuck on my bust line for awhile...

I took advantage of those bars and puffs, maybe too much.... The chocolate soy puffs save me on a movie night out though. My boyfriend may support me, but he loves his popcorn, soda and candy combo. And while visiting him in canada, I found out some of these evil movie theatres sell poutine and pizza. Ketosis or not, that smell makes me pretty jealous...

back to the subject *cough*, they are a good, on the road treat, and can get rid of your sweet tooth. With Easter around the corner, I can feel my sweet tooth hoppen right out

I DEFINITELY know how you feel. I am a college student, and parties come by the plenty here. Then there are bridal showers, baby showers, weddings...

I plan ahead. I eat before I go to any party, and try to bring myself a very discreet snack. The chocolate soy puffs are my number one choice because I can eat them slowly and drink plenty of water with them. I mean, you could bring celery sticks with a splash of lemon or cucumbers, but we all know how lame that looks sometimes...

I just keep telling myself "the food will still be there after this diet". That, and I have a goal, a goal to lose the weight and look fantastic for my birthday.

As for the slip up, from what I understand, you can just pick yourself right up. You didn't lose all 5 weeks, it apparently takes 3 days to get back to where you were. So keep going to a thinner you! :D

Lightheaded . . . . why?

I am just finishing my third week on the plan. I lost for the first two weeks (7 pounds week 1 and 3 pounds week 2), but my scale is showing a 1.5 pound gain for the current week. Outside of that, I am feeling horribly lightheaded today. I have eaten my alotted veggies and meals, I am well rested, and I've stuck to this plan like glue. Can anyone offer an explanation for either of these 2 issues? I've heard that lightheadedness could be attributed to carb withdrawal, but I would have assumed that my body had dealt with that by now. Am I wrong? If the weight gain is water, then I'm not sure why. . . I don't have Tom anymore. Any thoughts?

I started feeling that way right about the same time you are. Whenever I would bend my head down and then back up. like to stand or pick something up I got lightheaded. It lasted for a couple of weeks but is gone now. I would talk to your coach just to rule out any problems, which I did. But it probably isn't anything serious.

I have been having the same issues with getting light headed. I talked with my coach, she took my blood pressure, and it was pretty low. She recommended I increase my salt intake. She said the soups are highest in sodium, so have one of those, if you like them. I also just lick salt off my hand in the morning to make sure I'm getting salt all through the day. It has helped out quite a bit. Hope it works for you!

I have been crazy busy this week and haven't been able to log on at all. I'm also having a bad week with IP. I have felt off all week. I think I need to log on to keep me motivated. You guys are all great. I hope next week is better.
