  • Torchlaker, Ogdog put a crab stuffed mushroom recipe in the recipe section.
I have a great recipe for sauce that I make to go with crabcakes. Let me figure out how to alter it for us. Might be problematic as the main ingredient is red bell peppers. But i'll try. It also has horseradish. That's ok right? should be. Back soon.
  • You guys are a hoot!
  • Quote: That's exactly what I meant. Normal people have no carbs.
well as long as they're low carb...
  • Quote: You guys are a hoot!
Our goal is to get Ogdog in trouble at work.
  • Carbs & crabs??
You girls kill me.... I got lost there for a bit, we went from stuff mushrooms with crab to eating normal people who have no carbs, hee heeee hee, I would think other IPs would be the carb freindly ones?
  • Quote: Swilk, did you decide what you are going to make for Superbowl Sunday? Here my place was volunteered....so now I have to come up with some healthy alternatives for my friends/family (MYSELF!!). I'm going to make them chicken wings as I don't eat them anyway, and make myself some alternative meat boneless type wings (no breading, just hot sauce). And I'm going to cut up some veggies so I get my 4 cups in through out the game .... yep, going to wait for the game to get all my veggies in. I think that I'll still serve a nice salad with homemade dressing. Any other ideas?
I think we're going to do boneless wings with hot sauce, teriyaki meatballs, a low-carb chili, and cold veggies. It sounds similar to yours! We previewed the wings and and the chili last weekend, they both came out pretty well (it was one of the ones on the Texas-style website, I can't remember who posted it). We're doing Superbowl with my boyfriend's brother and his wife, who are also on IP, so we're actually really lucky because there will be no temptations... except for thinking about the pizza we wish we were eating!
  • Quote: Swilk - Boy, I give you credit for going to the gym on your lunch hour. Maybe I should wait until 1pm-2pm to exercise...that is when I get the energy low. I also have chronic headaches daily...so usually around 3pm, I lean back in my recliner and try to release the tension in my neck and shoulders (yup, sometimes I even fall asleep - but rarely). Wow -- how long is the flight from Quebec to DisneyWorld? I will bet you can reach your minigoal before then....! I am wondering -- since I was basically off IP for over a month....will this next weighin be like our "very first" weighin? Ahhh...too much to hope for, huh?? AND...how do we know WHEN our pancreas (sp?) is healed??

Geez, I GOTTA go take this garbage out (after I open the lindora box)

I think you got me confused with someone else. I don't even really get a lunch hour at school with my schedule, and even if I did I probably wouldn't be there. I am definitely not a gym person; I love walking and bike riding when the weather's nice, but that's about it. I'm same as you, chronic headaches, and with the fibro pain I often actually feel worse than better after exercising (I always pushed too hard; I need to get into yoga or pilates or something). One of the things I love most about this diet is that not only do I not have to exercise to lose weight, they tell you NOT to for a while.. right up my alley
  • Thanks everyone for the laughs. It was a long week at school and laughing is so good for the soul!
  • Quote: Here is the best sore throat remedy I have ever found: gargle with warm, diluted apple cider vinegar.

Then make a "syrup" with honey and apple cider vinegar. Heat in microwave and sip with a spoon. It will stop the sore throat pain instantly.

When I am sick with a cold or flu symptoms, I only take ibuprofen and my apple cider vinegar treatment. But since starting IP, I have not gotten sick once. And I work in the ER! You can only imagine the number of people that sneeze and cough in my personal space! I attribute this to the healthy foods and supplements I am using wiht IP. I have never been this consistent in taking vitamins before.

I do believe in hand washing to prevent catching colds. Also, I try not to touch my face unless I have just finished washing my hands. And when I shake someone's hand, I will not touch my face until I wash my hands. So I am sort of a fanatic about washing my hands. Most nurses are (thank goodness, huh?)
Thanks for those suggestions, I have to do something for this throat! I was really surprised I'm sick to be honest. I am a compulsive handwasher, too, as a special ed teacher, and none of my kids have been sick (usually they sneeze or cough in my face and it's only a matter of time). Plus, I just had a pretty severe cold at the end of December, so I figured I'd be good for a while. I've been really stressed lately, though, because we're writing new education plans for the students' services for next year, and each one is about 20 pages long and a legally binding document (and involves meetings with parents and ridiculous deadlines, etc.). So, the stress and lack of sleep might be the culprit. As miserable as I am, though, I'm glad it hit now, because we leave for vacation to Vegas next weekend, and I know I'll be better by then!
  • Hey everyone! I been on the IP diet for 3weeks now so far I lost 16pounds
I never thought it could be possible, so far I LOVE IT, my favorite foods are the CHICKEN SOUP and the Barbecue ridges, this diet is not as bad as I thought it would be!

No, I want the fat ones.....

Ok, Peeps...what's with this day? this was a truly HIlarious day. EveryDamThing was funny. Maybe the weather?

But on the serious side, I have news:

For all of us fretting that we have lost any semblance of our previous a$$e$ (Lilita, Torchlaker..)...I've found what HAS to be the perfect workout solution. I downloaded this ibook dealing with building up our underbutt. May I just say that it HAS to work because normally you feel a workout the day after. I did the first 10 minute set yesterday and it killed me the SAME day. Today I cannot walk....It didn't even wait. If I can figure out how to post it I will.
