When I am sick with a cold or flu symptoms, I only take ibuprofen and my apple cider vinegar treatment. But since starting IP, I have not gotten sick once. And I work in the ER! You can only imagine the number of people that sneeze and cough in my personal space! I attribute this to the healthy foods and supplements I am using wiht IP. I have never been this consistent in taking vitamins before.
I do believe in hand washing to prevent catching colds. Also, I try not to touch my face unless I have just finished washing my hands. And when I shake someone's hand, I will not touch my face until I wash my hands. So I am sort of a fanatic about washing my hands. Most nurses are (thank goodness, huh?)
Thanks for those suggestions, I have to do something for this throat! I was really surprised I'm sick to be honest. I am a compulsive handwasher, too, as a special ed teacher, and none of my kids have been sick (usually they sneeze or cough in my face and it's only a matter of time). Plus, I just had a pretty severe cold at the end of December, so I figured I'd be good for a while. I've been really stressed lately, though, because we're writing new education plans for the students' services for next year, and each one is about 20 pages long and a legally binding document (and involves meetings with parents and ridiculous deadlines, etc.). So, the stress and lack of sleep might be the culprit. As miserable as I am, though, I'm glad it hit now, because we leave for vacation to Vegas next weekend, and I know I'll be better by then!
