Thanks for your kind comments.
Since this thread has already been "bumped", I don't feel too guilty giving a bit of an update. I've been in maintenance for a little over two months now and am staying in the 144-146 range. I'd like to lose a couple more pounds so I can consider 145 to be my "redline" weight, but it hasn't been a major priority. I've increased my daily calories to 1700, which I think will be a good maintenance level, at least for now.
I still only have a bare minimum of clothes and should buy some more--even as a medium, I don't really enjoy clothes shopping. All of the tops I've bought have been 8/10. The pants I'm wearing are still mainly a few that I've had for about twenty years, when my weight was on its way up--the stretch waist holds them up, but they're not particularly flattering. I think my pants size will be pretty close to a 10 (perhaps closer to an 8 on top).
I definitely feel that two years of adjusting to my new lifestyle have prepared me well for maintenance. I still walk about half an hour six times a week, and I'm still very pleased to be counting calories. In maintenance, I'm more tempted to "go over" when I get hungry late in the day (while I was more likely to "suck it up" during the weight loss phase), but I have some mental games I play with myself that prevent me from going overboard.
I joined 3fc fairly late in the game, but I've found the advice and experience of long-time and new maintainers, in addition to members at other stages of their weight-loss journey, to be extremely valuable during my transition into maintenance.
Best wishes to all.
