Wow, lots of congratulations :0) thanks very much everyone. Quite some time later I am still at 150 which is great - I now want to lose a bit more as I am getting married in summer and want to look my best!

In answer to a question much earlier up the thread, I think I lost the weight by taking up running. I also gave up eating potato, bread, pasta, rice etc in the evening - I tend to have protein and veg for dinner. I still eat plenty of carbs at breakfast and lunch. I have no idea whether the evening thing has any scientific basis, but for whatever reason, it did seem to work for me. The principles of the food doctor diet (which I got from a friend) were helpful, although I didn't like the recipes, but the general advice on food types and portion size was helpful. Finally I have cut down on alcohol and puddings. I have two booze free days a week at least, and on the other days try to have no more than one unit (doesn't always happen that way!).

Thanks again to everyone for the kind congratulations and good luck with your goals.
