Default What's for Dinner

I am sad to admit that I stopped using my slimfast for about 3 weeks. I had only been on it for 2wks before quitting. I was so faithful and only lost 1 pound. I got really discouraged. However I believe it has been to my advantage because when the weight came off after the second week. I felt like it was not coming off fast enough or that it just would not work for me. I am also reminded that we sometimes lose inches prior to pounds. My clothes and my dressing mirror reminded me. I could hardly get into my suit this morning. I learned the hard way but I learned. I brought a case yesterday and I am going to start back today until I reach my goal.

Ok my question is can any of you help me out by giving me some ideas of what to eat prior to and for dinner? Usually while on slimfast by the time dinner comes around I am starving which I know is not good and it causes me to overeat at dinner time.

Thank you so much for sharing.

spoiled,

i know how you feel. im having a rough week. all of a sudden the scale is going up&i dont know why, but im trying to hang in there&you should to. it seems like you can eat whatever you like for dinner. however, i would like to make a suggestion that may help with the hunger end of things. i am not on slimfast, i am on what is called twinfast. its made by twinlab. its the same as slimfast minus all the sugar& it keeps me so full i dont snack b/c its lots higher in protein&much lower in carbs than slimfast. perhaps this is an option for you. i buy mine at www.vitaminshoppe.com. the chocolate is TL1465&the vanilla is TL1466.

I just wondered where you purchase Complete.

I too use slim-fast but in two hours I'm hungry again. I'd like to try a different product to see if if holds me longer.

Thanks for the reply.

Unhappy

sorry to say that the slimfast plan was no longer working for me. I believe it was beginning to be to few calories for my body even with snacks. I'm still drinking plenty of water and am going to try the WOL (walk of life) plan. It's a 10 week commitment to changing the way you live with excersise (walking) and sensible meals. thanks you guys for all of the support that you have given me throughout everything. I'll be starting a thread on the WOL to help me with my progress.

Wow check out all the new goodies! Hey girls please don't give up. I know it is hard to keep up with the diet when you can't see youreself making any progress. I have been there. Stoped loosing for weeks, Started regaining some, Have not lost any, get hungry. I have been there! Over the winter I not only stoped loosing I gained 10 pounds. Then for a while I stalled and could not loose anything. I had to stop and really look at what I was doing and eating. I discovered I was cheating a lot more than I realized and not excercising at all. It was very difficult to make adjustments and not just quit. I had that why bother I just don't have the self control to do it and why should I torture myself, attitude. Fortunatly I prayed and got through it. Refuse to give in. I have not lost anything recently, but being on my period could be the reason. Even when I am not activly looseing though I do see changes in myself. I can actually mow my small yard without stopping every two minnuts! I dont get winded waklking up the hill I live on. I can catch my horse without having an asthma attack. I can ride for more than an hour withoug being exausted. Stop and make youre own list what can you do now that you could not do last year?
As for being hugry between meals. Yopu can beef up youre slimfast shake by blending it with fruit and ice to make a great shake. Try vanilla with banana, strawberries, or whatever you enjoy. This adds fiber which is very filling. For between meals I like caned fruit, lowfat muffins or quick breads, granola or cereal bars, Canned vegetables, jello, lowfat frozen yougurt, fugicles, popsicles, salad. There are so many things to choose from. Read the lables and make sure you keep you calories at a reasonable number. I never go more than three hours without eating something. Don't wait till you get hungry. This way you will not feel like you are starving by dinner tme. If youre body thinks it is that hungry it will not allow you to loose the fat it has stored for such emergencies! I hope this has ben helpful. I have been doing this for over a year and though it is very slow I am loosing the weight. Dont give up. You can do it.

Thumbs down

Hey guess what? I finally lost more weight! I was really wondering if I would but I did! We really need a jumping up and down smily. Anyway I got on the scale this morning and almost fell off. It said 262! That is 5 pounds more in a week! I decided to cut way back on the carbs, mostly because in this hot weather It was making me ill to eat such heavy food. I was just sticking to veggies and meat as well as the slimfast of course. 10 pounds to go to get to my first major goal of 250. That was what I weighed in 1993 when I got married. Can't believe I've lost nearly 60 pounds. Don't give up girls, we really can do it!

congrats!! heres a suggestion: as long as your cutting way down on carbs, why not consider trying twinFAST instead of slimfast. it only has 100cals&7gcarbs. good luck!

Thanks I might try it if I see it in the store here. The thing is I get a great deal on slimfast at my warehouse club. Also why change something that is working? Please don't be offended but i am happy with what I have and don't really see the need to adjust that aspect of my diet further. I just needed to make some adjustments in my one real meal of the day. I have to confess I was really eating too much for dinner. I hate to throw out those leftovers and there is not enough to bother saving. so if I just don't make it I won't eat it. It is really hard to cook a healthy meal for just one person.
