Thumbs up Arginine And Glutamine-Not To Healthy For Our Teens

Today we want to encourage our kids to be active and get in, or stay in, better shape. Many teenagers, particularly males, like to get big and toned. But it is important that they do it in a healthy way. For many, that may mean using arginine and glutamine supplements.

Of course, in our society, we don't want to have to wait for results. We want what we want and we want it now. Since adding supplements to a solid workout and eating plan can help speed up the process, many will turn to arginine and glutamine supplements for that reason.

But, since teenagers are still growing and developing, many supplements may not be safe for them to use. That is why it is always important to have a detailed and honest conversation with your teens doctor first.

Even if your teen is old enough to be taking some supplements, it is still very important to figure out the types and amounts of supplements they should be taking. Dosing is a very important consideration and something that needs to be discussed with your doctor before your teen starts.

Here is an introduction into the types of supplements that your teen may want to consider (and ask their doctor about):

1. Whey protein. This supplement is generally considered safe for teenagers. It will increase the amount of protein in your teens diet. The extra protein can help them build muscle. Whey protein is available without added ingredients or chemicals.

2. Multi - vitamins can be the best way to ensure your teen is getting adequate nutrition. We all know that as a teenager it is easy to eat way too much of the wrong things (heck, it's too easy as an adult too!). Adding a quality multi vitamin daily can make a big difference in your teens overall health and development.

3. Amino acids are the building blocks for protein and often your body won't produce them in a big enough quantity. Adding arginine and glutamine supplements can allow your teen to build more lean muscle as well as recover from strenuous physical activities more quickly.

4. Creatine. This should not be used for younger teens and only with your doctors ok. Creatine can help repair muscle fiber and heal micro tears more quickly. This can lead to faster muscle building. It can also increase energy levels so your teen can get through their workout more quickly.

I can't reiterate enough the importance of either you talking to your teens doctor or making sure they do before they start taking any supplements. And, of course, never allow them to take any type of illegal supplements. It is just not worth the long term negative health impact they can have.

Arginine and glutamine are just two of the very important supplements that your teen, or anyone, can take to help them achieve their fitness and weight loss goals more quickly. Just make sure that it is done with your doctors supervision so it is safe and effective.
