Idol is on tonight. Who else was watching? Kimberly L sure is up'n the bar. I don't want to see Josh go...but he wasn't very good last night.

Williamsburg has more than 100 outlet stores so I have plenty of shopping places - just don't like to do it.

What do you all think about the report in this mornings paper that overweight people have a definite link to cancer. 1 in 6 cancers is caused by obesity. The study was for 16 years on 990,000 people so that was huge. Just another reasont o get this weight off. One of the more prevelant cancers linked was breast cancer. I look at the women I know who have breast cancer and most are overweight....kind of scary, isn't it?

Hey All!
Quilter doesn't like to shop?!
I didn't see the whole report on cancer, but saw the "bait" spots. I know 2 women with breast cancer...both over weight.
I did watch Datelines segment on weightloss the other night. 6 people doing 6 different plans. They've been doing their plans for 3 months and will be back on the show in another 3 months. Atkins, WW, Slimfast, extreme exercise and a personal trainer plan were some of the things they were doing.

I'm still kicking myself for the pizza blunder yesterday and think I've identified the problem. You all are the only ones that know I'm low carb'n. Lunch was with my Mom and she is about as "big as a minute". I'm embarrassed to tell her I'm on a "plan" of any kind. DH doesn't know either. Eat'n meat is perfectly fine with him and he doesnt think anything of it when I skip the potato. Thoughts? Should I scream it from the hilltop or keep it to myself? No brainer. Keeping it to myself allows me to cheat more easily (since you guys can't REALLY spank me). Ouy.

Oh that's OK, Quilter. I'll do your shopping for you. Just send your credit cards and cash to Jello's Shopping Service, PO Box 12345, Anytown with a Mall, USA. Seriously, my "shopping urges" go in spurts. Sometimes I spend like a fool, literally, and other times I just don't wanna. Probably save more money with the latter.

Anyway, I was good and bad last night. Dedicated some time to the treadmill. Dedicated as in "leave the laundry for later" and "I don't have to empty the dishwasher right at this moment". I MADE time to exercise. Like, wow.

But then I had to run an errand or two and went to slop around the muddy park to figure out where to put half a dozen ponies without them being too close to the cotton candy machine, etc. etc. and when I was done, I didn't feel like cooking and, well, the Burger King was right on the way home and....

I don't need to say more. Oh well, it's a new day.

Came in this morning to a cafeteria full of about a dozen kids between the ages of 8 and 12 and a table full of doughnuts and other goodies. Help! Just walked through, got my decaf and went on my way. They're getting pizza for them for lunch and then they're making ice cream sundaes later this afternoon.

Just give me strength!!

I didn't see the report on cancer and obesity but I guess that's just another reason to lose the weight. Interesting, I know all the reasons. Why's it still so hard?

Tiger, tell her! You're right. It makes it tougher to cheat or quit if someone else knows. I've found that if I tell people, I get one of two reactions. Either they try to help and support me or they try to sabotage my efforts. If they support me, hey I can use all the help I can get. If they try to break my spirit, I try harder just to spite them. Either way, I win.

Again, interesting. Sounds good in theory. Sometimes I wish I could be one of those people on Dateline and have EVERYONE watching me like that. Might make me succeed more???? Something to think about.

Have to go. In addition to all the kiddies, the french are back again today. Different guys this time. No cuties and nobody smells good. Sorry Cafe.

Later!

I have an amusing story. Problem is I can't tell this story to too many people. But I can tell it to you guys. You'll understand why in a minute...

Since the french are in today, I have to look professional and smart, etc. Anyway, that basically means nice skirt and top set, the dreaded pantyhose, high heels, etc. Well, I also added .... well, a little secret help. I like to call it a, um, controlling undergarment, a tummy trimmer, a ... well what mom used to call a girdle. See why I can't tell this to just anyone?

Annnnyhoooo, after a trip to the ladies' room, I decided the heck with this. It's too uncomfortable. My outfit's top hangs over my middle area enough. It's too much work to get this thing on and off. Etc. Etc. Phooey on this, I ain't wearing it! So I took it off.

Problem: How do I get it out of the ladies room and back to my desk to stuff in my purse without it being seen?

Answer: Well, I was able to kinda' roll it/squish it up into a lump about tennis ball size that would kinda' fit into my hand. And I walked out of the ladies' room, turned the corner and there were 3 people around my desk area, including one of the french visitors who was now holding out his hand to shake mine ... yes, my right hand ... yes, the one holding my .... well ....

Here's the good news. I'd also taken my coffee mug, my fairly large coffee mug, into the ladies' room with me to rinse out in the sink. And yes, the in my right hand fit very nicely stuffed into my new hero, my beloved coffee mug. At a glance, it looked very much like I'd just stuffed a paper towel or something into my mug. Oh but I am thinking of going into a new line of work - sleight of hand artist!

Meanwhile, my feet hurt, my legs are cold and I've already put a huge runner in the evil pantyhose. Only thing left to do is spill down the front of myself. Stay tuned....

LOL, Jello! Just what I needed, a quick giggle.

Isn't it funny, it's always when you've got a tampon in your sleeve or something that everyone wants to talk to you. And the balled-up pantyhose always jump out of the purse.

I didn't get to read the full article about the connection between obesity and cancer, but I did hear the headline. Heart disease, cancer, all the biggest killers are linked to being overweight. Do you think we're being told.

SEMO, hope your computer comes back quickly.

Tig & Quilter, thanks for keeping me on top of the news.

I'm hungry for lunch and it's too early. I'd better eat my banana now so hunger doesn't push me over the edge.

Hi! Happy Friday!
It's smells so good outside today...all kinds of trees and bushes bloom'n up a storm.
Today is the school PTO fundraiser. It's called Spring Fling, like a big indoor carnival. I get to work the kindergarten jumping booth. They get in that huge air filled contraption and jump. Hope nobody gets hurt on my shift.
It should be a busy day...hopefully food far from my mind.

Jello's girdle
Reminds me when...I was in college...walking to class with a friend...she looked down and had on TWO DIFFERENT SHOES! One white canvas, one white leather. She went on to class...just sat on one foot the whole time.

later taters!

Hey Tig, look for Chef's Choice frozen dinners too, I read that they are making LowCarb in individual dinners. I looked last night at WM and they only had the family size dinners and they were not lc. I hope I can find some somewhere.

I weight yesterday and was down one, weighted again this morning and still at 174, so I'm claiming it. ONe down, nine to go.

Got my hair cut yesterday then ran by the new outlet store, bought three pair of casual pants, uhummmm SIZE 14!

I have to tell ya'll that Wed when I came back from a road trip for the boss, I had a gift on my desk.....$75 gift certif to one of our local stores. SOMEBODY REMIND ME WHEN IT'S BOSS' DAY!

Telephone guy was here this morning and found my problem, something hit the outside telephone thingy. He said that he couldn't believe that it worked at all. I have to tell you yesterday I was almost to tears, and I'm not one to tear up. I've cussed more in the last week than I have in two years.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, rained here last night so I probably won't work tomorrow.

TGIF!!! Made it through yesterday without any major disasters. Kids were actually pretty well behaved ... considering they were full of doughnuts and ice cream. Yeah, sugar!! "Hey kid! Get down from the ceiling!"

One little incident. A guy here in the company brought his 9YO daughter, a none-too-shy, chatty little thing. She was hanging around my desk for a while asking all sorts of questions and fascinated by my screen saver. Anyway, at one point, her dad came by to check up on her and she very pointedly told him that she liked my perfume and he should "smell her dad!!". She then proceeded to tell him that I was really nice and maybe I could come over for dinner some night and how he'd really like me, etc. Awkward, yes but, well let me add to this story that shortly after my divorce, this particular guy here in the company (also divorced BTW) and I had ... well, sorta had a ... little ... um, "fling". It'd been brief and not too serious and we'd decided we're better friends, etc. Shoulda' seen the two of us stutter and stammer though.

Nah, Rich is my guy now.

OK, enough of my stories for a while, eh? Boss is back and apparently things aren't going too well with our frenchmen so I'd better at least look like I'm busy. Only 6 and a half hours to the weekend!!

And counting...

No luck, no low carb isle. I asked someone that works there...she doesn't know of any plans for one either. Drats.

So, I'm hanging out here at home wait'n for a load of rocks. I sure hope it gets here pretty soon. But nooo, they'll show up when I need to be getting out the door to man the MoonWalk booth. Story of my life.

Jello, what kind of perfume do ya wear? I'm going to be dropping a hint for Mother's Day soon. I haven't been anywhere to sniff any new stuff. Will probably request my tried & true Este Lauder Beautiful.

Semo! Size 14's!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Tiger, you skinny chickie, you!

Actually, I think I was just wearing a citrus body spray from Bath and Body Works at the time. I have a couple different scents I wear - Cashmir, Exclamation Noir and my old standby from my college days, Charlie. Depends on the mood.

And speaking of moods, I'm in a weekend frame of mind! Half an hour to go. No big plans, just hoping the weather holds out.

Hope everyone has a great one!

P.S. Tiger, we've got a moon bounce thingy for our block party on May 4. Let me know how yours works out!
