Exercise creates a calorie deficit, so as long as you are not eating back those calories, exercise should aid in weight loss. Temporarily, you may see a stall because after a tough workout, our bodies can hold onto water. It takes a long time to build muscle, so I doubt that's the reasons you're stalling. If you overate on the weekend, that may be the reason you don't see a loss. SB is low carb, esp. in the beginning, so you lose a lot of water weight. If you go off SB and eat carbs, you'll probably gain back some of that lost water weight.
