February Exercise Challenge

Goodness, can you believe that we are very close to going into February already? So you know what that means.....yep, another exercise challenge. Make your calculations and post the number of minutes that you are going pledge for the month of February. Remember that this month has only 28 days. (We don't want anyone to kill over from exhaustion!)

Reminder for Newbie's:
You are only competing with yourself and the challenge is to complete the minutes on or before February 28th. Please don’t be intimidated by some of the total minutes from some of our gals. (They are great and have been at this a little longer) You may post your minutes daily or weekly, it's up to you.

We try and stay with the format of listing our minutes from the previous post less what you have to subtract and then your ending balance. Example: (200 min – 35 = 165 then the next day start with 165 – 35 = 130) Makes it easier for me, if everyone uses the same format. On Mondays I will post an update of everyone's minutes through Sunday. All right, get out your pencils and tally up your minutes.

I am pledging 850 minutes – I'm uping my total by 160 minutes this month. WooHoo.

LKBAngel 01-29-2003 05:35 PM

Hi All,

I'm fairly new to the forum but I'm going to go for it!

I'm pledging 720 minutes for February.

Angel

MissMinerva 01-30-2003 07:16 AM

Hey guys...I'm new and this sounds fun! But...what exactly are minutes?
Miss Minerva

SEMO 01-30-2003 10:48 AM

MissMinerVA, you just calculate the number of minutes that you will exercise for the whole month of February and that will be your minutes pledged. Then you will deduct the number of minutes exercised from the previous total. You can check out January's challenge to get the idea. Glad you and LKB Angel have decided to join us.

FLYINGFIT 01-30-2003 11:39 AM

You go, Semo!

I'll stick with 1200 again this month, since it is shorter. But I intend to be all about the muscle this month. So more muscle and keep up the cardio.

Welcome LKBAngel and MissMinerva. I think this is the best motivator I have ever had. You will love it!

MissMinerva 01-30-2003 02:08 PM

Well....let's see. I just started a new workout plan with a friend and after figuring the numbers I think my minutes came to about 990. I feel good, if not a little scared, about that number. But, heck, I'll give it a try as long as you good folks swear by it. Count me in for 990!

GringaGordita 01-30-2003 04:37 PM

I'm pledging 1620 total minutes for February.

That takes into account 5 cardio workouts per week at 45 minutes and 2 yoga classes at 90 minutes per week. I'll be traveling some in Feb., so that might be hard to meet, but I'll try!

Kitkat3NY 02-01-2003 06:29 PM

Hi all,

Congrats to all of you who made all your minutes last month, and good luck to all of us who didn't. We can make it this month.

I'm feeling much better than I have been all week, boy was that a bad cold!

I pledge, 900mins this month!

I did 60mins of cardio & weights circuit today.

kathy
900/60/840

MissMinerva 02-02-2003 09:52 AM

Hey y'all! I did 50 minutes yesterday of cardioand weights. My friend and I have started a new strength training program that predominantly uses an exercise ball and it is soo much fun. I guess cuz the ball is bouncy and can be used as a toy the workout seems less like a workout I totally recommend it! So, 990-50=940 more to go for february.
Hey GG...I'm from Nashville too! (Well, I am in school in PA now, but raised in Nashville. I miss it so much.) Good to see someone from home! Good luck everyone!
Miss Minerva (Missie)

chrim32 02-02-2003 10:28 PM

I didn't quite make my minutes last month. I did 890 out of the 1000 I was aiming for. I'll try for 1000 again. If I just stay consistent throughout the month I can do it.

FLYINGFIT 02-03-2003 12:05 PM

Hi all,

Feb 1-30 mins elliptical/1 hr. muscle class

Hi Girls, glad to see we're off to a great start. I did 45 minutes of WATP tape plus used the two pound dumb bells for the whole three miles. I'm getting stronger! Wasn't long ago that I could barely make it through the two mile tape.

SkyBlue 02-04-2003 10:10 AM

Morning To All. 40 minutes last night. I've switched from mornings to evenings as well. Still feel better by getting up early and getting it over with, but I've got to many irons in the fire to get that done these days. Gotta be flexible, right?

805 - 40 = 765

GringaGordita 02-05-2003 11:36 AM

1410- 50 cardio (2/4) - 90 yoga (2/4) - 45 cardio (2/5) = 1225

hey guys, I am totally into the yoga right now. decided to take a break from weight training a few months ago, and was just doing cardio and a couple of lunch time yoga classes. recently found a new yoga teacher who i absolutely adore. she teaches evening classes and i'm totally addicted to it. i swear i can see my body reshaping week by week, even though the scale hasn't been budging. i try and make it to at least three intense classes a week, but i have been known to go up to 6 times a week.

1225 - 90 yoga (2/5 ) - 35 cardio (2/6) = 1100

SEMO 02-06-2003 06:48 PM

Gringa, I like yoga too, I took a class last year but the teacher wasn't very good so I didn't sign up for the next session. I live in a rural area so she is the only teacher available.
