Default Is this diet okay?

My goal is to lose 25 pounds in 10 weeks and I have a few questions about how I am doing so... I'm 5'3", 183 pounds right now. I want to lose down to 158 because that was where I got to on my last diet a year ago. My overall goal weight is 130, but for now I just want 158.

My plan is to steadily walk around 3 miles a day, everyday, and eat a strict diet of no more that 1200 calories. I'll be eating anywhere from 600 to 1200 calories, depending on my appetite. My friend said to eat 800 calories for two days, then 1200, but I'm probably just gonna do 1200 a day. Also, I have a supplement called Xenadrine Ultra I will also be taking.

Any tips or helpful comments?

im the same proportion as you! 5'3'' and i think 180 last time i checked.

not sure how helpful ill be, but i also like to weight train a lot. it can even be light weights with a lot of repetitions. Running/walking will take off the pounds, but weight training will give you a lean body. I feel like im a pro at the exercise part, but cant get the nutrition part right!

Welcome to the site! I'd say that 1000-1200 calories per day is good (I'm supposed to be at 1200 too, but sometimes I only eat 1050 or 1020 or 1100 or whatever if I find that I'm full), but personally I wouldn't recommend going as low as 600 per day. You'll feel miserable if you go that low! Just my opinion. VLC (very-low-cal) diets work for some people, but they`re usually only recommended for people who are significantly larger than you are and they usually require supervision/guidance from a doctor or professional. Plus, they are super difficult to maintain. Walking is fantastic, but if you are comfortable with more exercise then some cardio (even just 20 mins of cardio a few times a week) would really boost your fat-burning, as would some simple strength/resistance training. Good luck!

20/20 did a show about Xenadrine and how it's a scam. It's very unhealthy for you. You should eat at least 1200 calories a day to avoid harm to your body. Your exercise plan sounds good, and I suspect that in no time, you'll be feeling ready for more.

I would not go below 1200 calories a day, in fact I think that is a little low for someone your height and desired goal . I am 3 inches shorter than you and lost on 1400 calories a day.
