Hello im new to 3fc and i just started the 17dd is anyone still doing this?

SophieCormier 02-06-2012 09:13 AM

I'm starting the 17DD again today! I did great the first time, got to cycle 3 and then tried to start again after Christmas and only lasted a couple of days. Trying this again! I know I can do it! I've done it before, I can do it again! I'm not going to weigh in daily like I did the first time. I'm going to weight in at the beginning of each phase so I'll weigh in again on Day 1 of Cycle 2. I weighed in this morning at 169.6 (OUCH!) But it's TOM so I know I'm more bloated than usual. I'm also going to follow P90X as my exercise. Today is day one for that too. I've done that program once before also. I'm hoping it won't be too much dieting for this workout. I'm going to eat a lot of protein for supper to make sure I have enough for my workout. I'm also taking some Lipovox supplements for my acne and also for increased weight loss. I'm hoping it'll help with the hunger pangs and cravings.

Cycle 1 Day 1

Hey Sophie,
Our story is almost same. Started this diet in June,11. Reached 159 in Oct. Was on maintenance till 2nd Feb.
Started again on Feb 3rd with 162.2. Today c1d13 and weight is 160.8.
I am 59, so my weight loss will be slow. It is ok i guess.

puneri 03-25-2012 02:02 PM

Hi ppl,
feeling dizzy, has anybody felt so in cycle 1?

PaintedButterfly 04-26-2012 10:00 AM

Hi anyone still doing this? I've ordered the book and am planning to start this around the 11th of May (I'm going to be house sitting for my friend so it'll be easier to do the first cycle while I'm there cos I'll have less distractions and temptations!).

SophieCormier 04-26-2012 10:20 AM

I actually decided to give this diet another go. I'll be starting phase 1 either Sunday or Monday. :) This is a diet that's really easy to follow in my opinion and you see results fast. I really want to lose weight for summer and it's so close to it.
It's too bad you don't have the book yet, we could start together PaintedButterfly.

Well I've go the book yesterday and it looks sensible :). I'm sort of starting it today.. well I'm going to follow it for 2/3rds of the day then eat a balanced dinner including some carbs in the evening (going to try and eat roughly what the evening meal is supposed to be plus some potatoes or rice etc) cos until I'm at my friends house house sitting I won't get an opportunity to follow it properly.

Some thoughts:
The hot water with lemon I'm adding a cube of fresh ginger to it along with the sweetner- makes it way nicer :). I'm also using 1tblsp concentrated lemon juice cos I don't have fresh lemons right now plus is way cheaper.

I'm drinking Jasmine green tea because I don't like regular green tea.

I'm not completely sold on the "probiotic" thing (only very few "probiotics" actually survive the stomach acid (I read studies on this recently.. if you notice the adverts for them no longer really talk about the probiotics and protecting your stomach etc anymore because it contravenes advertising standards because it's just not true for the vast majority)... but one of those is yakult so I'm going to add in a sugar free yakult every day) so I'm going to just call the pro-biotics low fat dairy and have low fat greek yoghurt, cottage cheese etc at the points is says pro-biotic.

I recommend bercocca tablets (or several supermarkets sell a generic much cheaper version that is exactly the same) that dissolve in water. You can make that up in 500ml of water and that'll not only be your multi-vitamin taken care of but is also a way of getting in those first two glasses of water in in a way more interesting way.

I've planned out all my meals on the sheets that someone has very kindly posted in this thread somewhere and I really recommend that.

The egg thing: The newest school of thought is actually eggs don't either lower or raise your cholesterol levels. The cholesterol raising yolk is actually completely balanced by the egg white which has cholesterol lowering properties. So I'm eating my eggs whole.

And today's day for me is going to look like this (I thought it might be useful for anyone thinking about doing this):

1 cup of fresh coffee
1 cup of hot water with 1 tblsp concentrated lemon juice, 1 cube of fresh ginger
1 cup of jasmine green tea
500ml water with 1 berocca tablet dissolved

Breakfast:
2 poached eggs with salt, pepper and paprika on
1/2 grapefruit

Snack:
1 cup of jasmine green tea
1 low fat pineapple yoghurt
1 250ml glass of water

Lunch:
Large salad made with lettuce, cucumber, peppers, celery
1 tin of tuna
1tblsp olive oil dressing
1 250ml glass of water

Snack:
1 cup of jasmine green tea
1 pear
1 250ml glass of water

Dinner:
Grilled chicken breast
Steamed green beans, cabbage and carrots
Boiled potatoes (not on plan)
1 250ml glass of water

Before bed
1 250ml glass of water

I'm going to tick off each thing when I've eaten and drunk it (so I keep track of the water) and any changes from this.

SophieCormier 04-30-2012 11:33 AM

I wasn't able to start yesterday or today since I didn't prepare myself (didn't do my grocery). I'm going tonight right after work though. I'll be keeping a diary of all I eat and the exercise I do. I'm going to weigh in once a week. I guess I'm going to do it on Tuesdays since that's my starting point. I'm going to measure myself also but only at the end of each 17 days. I'm also going to weigh in on the 1st day of each cycle. Exercise wise, I'm going to be walking. :)

SophieCormier 05-01-2012 09:01 AM

Eh, weighed in this morning at 178.6! I thought I was 175, that's a downer. Oh well! Here I go! Day 1 today which turns out great since it's May 1st. Here's how my menu is looking like for the day:

Breakfast
2 eggs (scrambled cooked in olive oil with a bit of salt)
1 orange
1 cup of green tea
1 coffee from Tims (I'm going to try to eliminate this slowly)

Snack
1 green apple

Lunch
Taco salad
-lettuce
-lean ground turkey
-taco seasoning
-salsa
-partly skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup green tea

Snack
Honey greek yogurt

Dinner
Chicken type stirfry
-chicken
-frozen broccoli/cauliflower/carrots
-sauce?
1 cup green tea
