I love eating this way but I make sure I'm really hungry. I drink a small glass of oj first thing and then when I get really hungry, I eat 2 or 3 bites of say a sandwich or cottage cheese or soup. I feel so much more energetic and food tastes so much better if you are really hungry.

I'm not so much of a grazer as someone who needs to constantly have something to chew or drink. If I don't have something to satisfy that oral fixation, I rip off hangnails or pick at my skin - gross but true.

I have nothing of value to offer, but I do understand that primal need to be eating or drinking all the time. I drink at least 6-8 mugs of various hot beverages at work and then probably 5 more after I get home.

I am so glad I am not alone here!!

I took a Health and Nutrition class in college and our instructor encouraged 5-6 small meals a day. My colleagues are always asking how I am not 200+ lbs as often as I eat! I usually eat something every 3-4 hours (healthy or unhealthy) and ALWAYS keep something in my hand to drink! (water, Crystal Lite, Diet Coke, or red wine)

However, I am grazing myself upward on the scale and it is truly unbecoming of me!

Thanks for all of the suggestions

Hi grazers, thought I'd check in here since it's been a while. Just wanted to let you all know, as you've probably seen from my other posts, that I have been practicing Intermittent Fasting (IF) for about a month now. You can read more here (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weig...t-fasting.html) but essentially it involves not eating until later on in the day, thus having a shorter "eating window" than the typical sun up to sun down schedule we were raised on. It's the exact opposite of the 5-6 mini-meals a day theory. I eat LARGE lunches and medium dinners. Eating a LOT at for lunch (which occurs at 2 or 3 usually) and being genuinely FULL (which I haven't been for months since dieting) has made a huge difference. I don't graze, and when I do it's just out of habit/oral fixation, and I can usually satisfy it with carrots or another low-calorie food. I'm sometimes not even that hungry for dinner, and eat just enough to get in some healthy proteins and fats.

Anyway, just wanted to share what's been working the best for taming the grazer inside of me. Has anyone else found a new trick or key to curbing the constant nibbling?

Hmmm... I kind of do that intermittent Fasting already, except not with healthy foods. I'm trying to move more to the grazing method of eating (but with healthy foods), and see if that makes me lose more weight, since I've been at a standstill forever, it seems.
