Weird Metabolism?
For the past year, I had been having an awful time - feeling lethargic after eating during the day. I experimented to no end.... either lower carb, no gluten, no soy, and when that didn't work, I tried eating very small portions (6 small meals a day).
It didn't matter, I would still have an amazing strong lethargic feeling immediately after eating, which consisted of headache, inability to concentrate, just wanting to lay down - but cannot sleep. I had even been battling a yeast infection that occurred between my fingers.
As of last week, I made one change that seems to make the world of difference and no lethargy:
I only eat whole fruit and minimal whole, uncooked veggies (ex. a 1/4 red pepper or a tomato, but a whole salad is too big), sometimes a handful of raw nuts and I drink water, with fresh squeezed lemon in between until dinner at 8pm.
Now, I feel like jumping off the walls! I always eat a normal, good sized healthy dinner - made from whole foods, with fat, protein, and carbs. Then, I sleep 3 hours later. Regardless, it is clear that I am also dropping a few pounds.
The only hard thing is - that bothers me - is that I battle a small hunger pain for the most part of the day. But, I know if I fill this hunger pain - it will leave me feeling incapacitated. Well, I also hate that I cannot eat like other people ... who seem to eat food, have a small bout of tiredness, and then feel great again.
I guess what I'm asking is: does anyone else battle this lethargic, depressing feeling that is obviously connected to food?
