For those of us that were interested in weight lifting/weight training/body sculpting/body building.....I did want to mention, once again, the site... www.leanandstrong.com
You should really check it out, and explore a little. Take a look at their transformation pages and imagine what we can do. I am constantly amazed that these are real men and women who have done dramatic things with their bodies...it makes me want it really bad. Bad enough that I am dusting off my Body for Life book and re-reading it. I had initially started with my own calorie range and followed their exercise program, but I lasted about 2 weeks, and lost the desire to lift the weights in the morning, that is NOT a good time for me. So, I am going to investigate further and see if it will make a difference for me to do it in the evening as a way to unwind.
Anyway, that is where my head is now...
Tiff, off to stick her nose in her book!

hi. stupid monitor is messing up again. it keeps going black. then, i flip it on/off...it works for a few, then *poof* black. argh!
Happy Birthday Jello! we'll call that butterfinger candybar i had last night my birthday goodie.
i did it. ordered the sofa sectional thingy. instead of taking the usual 8wks to get here, it'll be here NEXT WEEK! ekk, downstairs isn't ready for the old sofa yet.
Tiff, I had checked BFL out at the library. I couldn't get over the inside cover. The before/afters looked so fake. I don't doubt the program works, they should have done better on the photos.
I called my friend that gave me the wrong info on the gym price. She is such a space. "Oh, did I tell you $9000...$900, that's what I meant".
It's suppose to be hot and humid today. Yuck. Doesn't mother nature know it's time to mellow out?

Happy Birthday Jo!!!! Have a WONDERFUL day!!!
Tig, I remember looking at the pictures for the first time and thinking that SOME of them looked fake too, but most of them hold up the newspaper with the dates on them....although...I guess you COULD save a newspaper for a few months and then hold it up and make it LOOK like you have done it in 12 weeks. LOL! That is why I like the website, I can SEE that those are all real people making real changes to their bodies, and it makes me want to do that too. I mean, in 12 weeks, I can either be a few pounds lighter and still look roughly the same, or I can be a few pounds lighter and have a heck of a start on building and toning my muscles.
Anyway....I'm still sick, so I think I will lay back down for a while. Wanted to check in and say hello to everyone and make sure everyone was still alive and kicking!
Kayla, boys DO suck. And most of them keep right on sucking all throughout their lives, with brief moments that give me hope.
Hugs to all,
Tiffany

Sorry guys. I have to take back my offer. You can't eat a goodie in my honor. I'VE EATEN THEM ALL!!!!
Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
Actually, in honor of my b-day, I'm not letting the old *itch here get to me. She was walking down the hall this AM and I complemented her sweater. (It really was a nice sweater.) I said it very casually and kept on walking. When I turned the corner, I glanced back. She was standing there with her mouth open looking dazed. :hypno2: Don'tcha love mind games!!
Tig, I'm so excited for you! I'd love to get a sectional sofa. Definitely no room in our house but I'd love it anyway.
Kayla, Tiff's right. Sucky boys eventually become sucky men. It's just the nature of their gender. Fortunately, it's in our nature to be patient with them. Proper training can make them easier to live with. It's all a woman can do.
Thanks for all the b-day wishes gals! Tonight I get to go to the gym and meet with my trainer. She's going to show me some new machines and exercises. I'm very nervous. Rich was going to take me to dinner afterwards but instead we may just wait till the weekend and go out then.
Then again, I may be completely full of junk food by then....

Hello Everyone:
Jello: Many, many happy and healthy birthdays for you. And believe it or not going to the gym tonight is the best present you can give yourself along with meeting with a trainer!! I'm jealous...trainer's out in jerseyland are out of site with their prices.
Tiff: I was actually checking out the lean and strong site too last night and then my beloved pc pooped out. I am trying to modify my diet similar to the body for life diet, since i am lifting weights again and i can tell by the way i feel these days that i need more protein, i'm always sleepy. I generally lift at night (3x week) and walk 2 miles in the morning.
Semo: how the heck are ya...still intrigued i see with weights...was thinking about you and wondering how you are feeling.
Tigerlily: Congrats on the new new furniture...
Dyanm1: Hey...i have been doing the same thing....and i finally found the right one the other day....i am so new to forums, chats, and stuff.
By the way....i can no longer get into the Digichat room....how about the rest of you?
Love,
DNW
One thing i was told and i have found it holds true is it's not a great idea to lift on an emply stomach. An old guy (75 yrs. old and still lifting) muscleman I knew from my first gym told me to a least a protein shake an hour before, and that always seemed to work in the morning. Also he told me to have a carb meal the night before I lifted. When I lift at night I find it very calming, and destressing.
Kalya: You are so smart and sweet. You will find one day in the future that all the boys you were crazy for in high school were not worth the time or the space in your head. I think of the guys I was crazy for and I get the shivers....icky, icky, icky...in fact anybody i ever dated before my husband, except a few, are on my poo-poo list. As you evolve your taste will change.
Just remember anyone who doesn't want you is a LOSER!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I would have been here earlier, but someone in a black coat and floppy hat pushed me down in the snow. I don't know who it was but I'm sure the person was female because as she walked away I heard her say something about Stuart....
Tiffany, Hope you're feeling better soon! My thing started with a sore throat, too. Must be going around. Now I'm trying to get rid of this bad cough. :-\ Sugar free Jello sounds like a great way to stay on track!
Kayla, Sorry things didn't work out with this particular boy. Things will get better. All your activites and other things will give you many fond & fun memories of this time in your life - one boy isn't going to make or break it. Don't lose track of who YOU are and making the most of that (yourself) as you can.
Tiger, Whoa! I'm glad you found that $8100. :eyeroll: Actually, your gym turns out to be a pretty good deal!
A big "HEY!!" to everyone else! My energy lacks but my heart is warm toward you all. Congrats on your losses.
Diet-wize, I haven't been overly good or overly bad since returning from vacation... of course I got sick right away. The bestest thing lately is that I can really see during this kind of "floaty" time that I've built good habits over the past months that are carrying along fairly easily (diet-wise). However, I really need to snap back into hard focus if I'm going to lose this weight. I'm gearing up for it. Ready to move beyond survival mode.
So, I'm glad for that - but I'm sorry I haven't had much to contribute lately. I'm in a little resting phase, feeling SO crappy.
Anyone else a little excited about Survivor starting tonight?? Okay, a lot excited?

Hi All!
It sure has been slow here today. What'd eveyone do? Go and get a life w/out me?
What is up with the sore throats? I'm having some nasty drainage. yum.
Tiff, have you decided how to make the cruella outfit yet? DS wants to be spiderman, not having any luck finding a decent costume. Either wrong size or pathetically cheap.
DNW, I hope the new furniture is worth congratualtion. I'm so scared it will look too big in my livingroom. I'd have an easier time picking out a new car!
Dirty house call'n my name....ok, it's scream'n.

Hi again to everyone
Cafe976: Sorry to hear you're not feeling well...usually i get sick before or during my vacation so i know what you mean...i actually got the shingles on my honeymoon...you can only imagine!!!!!!!
They had a food show here at my office today because there is a cafeteria in my building, and i am one of the 10 executive admins we have here. Well i did very well all day, but then gave into a cheese danish that wasn't on my food plan (I could die for a good cheese danish still warm from the oven!!)
I here to tell you, as usual, it didn't taste as good as my memory and mind said it would...that is always, and will forever be the the case.....when will i learn...and i gave up 150 calories of filling food for it...b-lag-h-h-h!!!

I told ya all once, if I am not here, it is because I am eating my way through the day and avoiding the computer in shame. Jo gave me license to have a birthday goodie, and I just never stopped. LOL, actually, it was not Jo's fault, of course...but my own. I was home all day and bored....so I had 4 low fat waffles for breakfast, and then I had some chips and salsa, and then a snickers and then a Lean Cuisine, and then some more chips and then a pizza and finished off with a chicken sandwich. And by pizza, I mean, 3/4 of a Tombstone pizza. The big one.
Anyway, right after my TOM, I always have a couple of days where I am just ravenous and my hormones are funky. I should have went to work today and headed it all off. But I was still feeling residual sickness and just layed around and did nothing but eat.
I know we have all been there at one time or another....and tomorrow, I am back on track...so it's like water off a duck's back.
Anyway, Cafe...glad to see you back! Good for you. (dang, I meant to wear a MASK with my black coat and floppy hat.
My best friend is a Survivor FANATIC. She has a big party in her house and they eat and make their bets and all that. We have Dish network, and I don't watch actual television anymore. Like NBC, ABC, and CBS....
Anyway...tomorrow is food day at work. YIKES. I am making a fruit pizza, but I plan on staying out of the kitchen. Bringing my lunch and snacks, etc. I WILL be perfect this weekend or die trying! LOL....and I WILL exercise.
Well, I am off to make the fruit pizza....
Talk to you crazy chicks tomorrow...I will be talking to you frequently, and probably complaining about how hard it is to stay away from the food in the kitchen.
Ta ta!

olly, olly, oxen free...come out, come out, whereever you are....
I did watch Survivor last night. DH said he didn't think he was up for watching it again. We got hooked on Big Brother this time. That will be over next week, thankgoodness. I hate being hooked, but I want to see how it ends.
Tomorrow, I have to WORK the "confession" stand at a football game. Then, after that we have our football game. So, all day exposed to the debil food.
Homemade oatmeal with apple this morning. Feel'n full, and off to a good start!
One meal at a time
