shae8230, thank you so much for the prayers, I will take all I can get these days. I really appreciate everyone understanding about my rambling. Well I was bad and I mean really bad at midnight. I ate 4 loft house cookies, 5 fun size snickers and one fun size twix, gee you think I have sugar addiction:o I should feel bad about this but I guess I'm so stressed I just don't even have the energy to feel down about it. Tomorrow is ash wednesday (I'm catholic) and I always give up something for lent and also add something. I will be giving up sugar for 40 days and adding more patience with my mom. With the commitment of no sugar I know I can faithfully do FS. I still haven't ate any meat and still feel so much better. I guess what I'm saying is my 1st day of detox will be tomorrow. Ya'll will still be my peeps on this journey.;) You know what is so strange and so comforting to me? Even thou I don't know any of ya'll, have never met you in person, I feel like this is a friendship:hug: Hope everyone has a great "Fat Tuesday":D (Ah...Mardi Gra)

Good Morning All,

I slept in this morning. Not something I get to do very often. I haven't even had breakfast yet. We are in for snow later today. So, we are going to run to the store and stock up on fresh fruit and veggies again. Don't want to get snowed in and not have the essentials.

natamars~ I need to drink more water, too. Sounds like you are doing well on detox. Good luck on day 3!

misskitty~ :cheer2: Way to go! I watched CFC last night, too. I commented to dh about the men losing faster than the women. They have more lean muscle than we do. And since muscle burns fat... I think they lose faster. Just a theory. lol.

sluggo44~ Sounds like your stress from yesterday got the best of you.:dizzy: Don't beat yourself up. You probably didn't get enough calories in yesterday and just got too hungry. I do that, too. I made sure that I ate every 3-4 hours so I wouldn't go an a binge right before bed. lol. Good luck to you tomorrow! I enjoy getting to know each other and sharing ups and downs. I agree that this is a friendship. We are all on the same journey. And we can lean on each other and learn from each other at the same time.

Okay, so this is day 2 of detox for me. 7 more to go.:carrot: lol. Here is what I know I will be eating today...

Breakfast~ 1 cup grits, banana
Snack~ 6 oz. yogurt
Lunch~ ? Not sure yet. Maybe egg white omelete with veggies
Snack~ apple
Supper~ eggplant parmesean (from FS recipe link), brown rice, asparagus
Snack~ yogurt and grapes.

Have a great day!
Sherry

?

I found this post on the old fatsmash thread and was curious if the phase I list is correct. It looks like the list but there is cheese of 1 1/2 slices allowed. I don't want to eat cheese if its not allowed but if it is Woo Hoo:carrot:

ok, here they are, but I see that it's warning me that "links may be removed" so I don't know how long they will stay! I had these on the fridge

... ok, I need 2 more posts before I can post links so here's one.

These lists are not all-inclusive, but the snacks and such are pulled out of the back of the book and put with the rest of the stuff. I think she did a pretty good job.

I got the original fat smash book out of the library, and there is definitey no cheese in phas 1. Maybe on EFS?

matilda, wtg! first day was the toughest for me - it's getting easier.

shae8230 02-16-2010 05:09 PM

I agree.. there is NO cheese in phase 1.

Will check in later. Have to start supper.

Sherry

life4evr 02-16-2010 05:30 PM

The re released books have cheese listed in phase 1.

shae8230 02-16-2010 07:55 PM

I haven't read the re released book. For me, cheese is a trigger food. So, I am staying far far away from it. lol. Thanks for the info life4evr. :)

Supper~ eggplant parmesean, brown rice, spinach and salad. I am stuffed. ;)

I got more water in today. I remember from last time I did detox....I get bloated from all the fiber and water helps move things along. :D

Day 2 has been successful so far. I plan on having yogurt and grapes for snack later. If I get hungry again. Right now... I can't see me eating anything else.

We are expecting our income tax refund Friday. Dh is buying me a laptop. I can't wait. Right now, there are 3 of us sharing our desktop. Joshua, our 4 year old uses it most of the day. I homeschool him and a lot of his curriculum is internet based. Then, dh and I try to get a few mins. online after school hours. I am looking forward to having a computer of my own.

I have been having issues with anger today. I have been in a bad mood most of the day. I think it could be due to the fact that I cut out caffeine. I have had an annoying headache and just felt like crap all day. I have faint memories of going through this last time I detoxed. I also forgot the take my vitamin today. Could have something to do with the fact that I am bone tired. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I did good on food today, though. No cravings for sugar or bread.

Sorry to rant. lol. Just needed to vent.

Talk to you all later,
Sherry

misskitty 02-16-2010 07:57 PM

cheese in phase 1? oh man... that would have been heavenly. but yeah, my book (2006 edition) doesn't have cheese in phase 1, it says cheese 1 oz per day for phase 2.

i'd probably err on the side of no cheese, since it is 'smash fat', or maybe plan meals so that you could have your 1 oz on a bowl of chili, for example, but then skip cheese the next day, etc.

day 2 of 'induction' down! man, i hate cooked chard. :barf:

something to do with your hands. i found this on a site and there are instructions for knitting and crocheting, so instead of eating... do this!

happy end of Mardi gras! :joker:

Day 3 down. I am feeling cranky, plus DH and I have been fighting, which doesn't help. I'm OK with the caffeine, since I normally only drink coffee on the weekends. Could be the sugar. I also really miss peanut butter!

I tracked my calories and am averaging 1200 - in case this doesn't work I want to understand what happened.

Did 50 minutes on the treadmill tonight.

Good night, fat smashers.

shae8230 02-16-2010 11:58 PM

Just wanted to say GOOD NIGHT!! I am exhausted. I did end up eating my yogurt and grapes. lol. I hope you all have a great night.

more snow. one kid home, the other on a two hour delay. more shoveling... i think i wouldn't mind getting my cardio in a different way!!

the 4 day FS diet is boring in the induction phase. it's all fruits and veggies, but two pounds down since i started. but it's almost two weeks since the confirmation 'cheat' weekend, so i expect to get hit with a gain over the next few days.

you know, with these diets, i think he's trying to make us not like food anymore! ;) that way we never want to overeat again!

so nothing new here, but congrats to all on continuing day by day!

sherry, i had a 4 day migraine when i decided to quit caffeine, unrelated to the stress of the FS diet on top of that! of course you're cranky and have a headache, you're in withdrawal from all kinds of things, let alone caffeine. you CAN do it!

also, if you're cranky, remember how important and a comfort food is. now, we're not getting our 'regular' comfort which would make us more prone to arguing and fighting, in addition to the regular crap of everyday life. so don't beat yourselves up too badly for this week of sacrifice.

it's just one day at a time! in the 4 day book, smith says of a particularly difficult module, 'it's only 4 days of the 365 days in a year, you can do it'! and he reminds us that it took years to put this weight on, so it's going to be a slow fight (yes, a fight against our bodies, our tastebuds, our desires, our cravings, our culture/comfort food) to get rid of what we gained.

have a positive day!
misskitty

Good Morning Peeps, Well today is officially my 1st day and so prepared (pretty impressed with myself for being organized) Being today is ash wednesday I am limited to 2 small meals and already have them in my little cooler I bring to work. Last night I tried the morningstar breakfast patties and they weren't too bad but don't believe I will be spending the money on those again. You know what I find so strange?, news reports are always talking about the high percentage of obesity in the US but you go to a grocery store and anything healthy is expensive but junk food is pretty cheap. I'm just glad one of my grocery stores is having a pretty decent sale on veggies and fruits. Hope everyone has a great ash wednesday.
